At no point during check-in did the staff inform us that the facility's restrooms were inoperable due to a sewage-related issue. After entering, I learned that guests were expected to use the restroom at Marshall's next door, which was hand written paper posted on their bathroom doors. We went over to Marshalls as directed and this was especially concerning because the facility had also admitted a camp group of more than 20 children, who were waiting in line at Marshalls that was almost 20 children to use a two-stall restrooms. Despite the lack of working restroom facilities onsite, Kids Empire staff continued allowing additional families and guests to enter without clearly disclosing the situation beforehand. I was told by a staff member I could use the restroom and Roto-Rooter was just finishing up in the women's room. I opened the door to find sewage water in the women's restroom. The staff seemed unconcerned. Had I been informed before using our Return Pass, I would not have entered the facility that afternoon. Access to a safe and functioning restroom is a basic necessity, particularly in a children's play facility serving young children and large camp groups. I was contemplating calling the Rhode Island Department of Health. Once I became aware that the restrooms were not operational, I asked a staff member to provide another Return Pass so that my son and I could return on a day when the facility was fully functional. My request was refused.

Now equipped with a play ground of possibilities, they have expanded to host birthday parties, camp sessions and soon drop-in sessions. Coding basics in elementary level to intermediate and advanced robotics can be found in the "bot" area. There is a wonderful "maker space" where the tykes can just create and imagine up everything from, stick figures to rocket ships. Lego is a great way to promote engineering and they sure are fun. Membership prices are within if not slight lower than average which is great for beginners trying to stick to something new. On my first visit, the staff was very helpful and provided a tour of their facilities, and explained ground rules clearly. Having been to other gyms while in Texas it's always nice to see staff explain simple do's and don't's to new visitors. My only concern is regarding kids running under or too close to the walls while climbers are on them, as the parents are either not aware or unfazed of the dangers to both their kid and the climbers. It would be nice to see staff address this to the parents. Overall great gym, amazingly friendly and helpful staff, facilities are always cleaned, and the climbing community is one of the most supportive out there!

Compared to my home location, I felt that their bouldering had a great mix of problems catering to varying different skill levels. I checked the website and it said that both locations had 3,000 square feet of bouldering. This Warwick location felt like it was bigger and had more, but who knows! For those that have not been here, there is bouldering that is on the right wall upon entering that extends to the back and wraps to the left. Then there is some lead belay walls right across the main bouldering. Off to the left are more top rope and auto belay walls. They also have a fitness center with gym equipment as well as a wall with all types of holds to practice on/learn hold types. Lastly, there is a yoga studio that is available to members. I really enjoyed the variety and the set up of this location. Visiting different locations is definitely fun and I'll be back whenever I'm in the area itching to climb.

They make excellent eye contact. Thankfully, they're back now! I visited them this week & was so relieved to see them. Goofy celebrated his 44th birthday in July & Nubs celebrated her 43rd in May. Happy birthday, you majestic creatures. Pro tip: the zookeeper who mostly tends to the king vultures is super friendly & a wealth of knowledge about these amazing birds. If you catch her around, be sure to say hi & ask her some questions!

The park itself where the zoo is situated, is absolutely gorgeous with a lot of stuff going on from tennis, to kids playing, to people exercising. The zoo itself is not huge, but what we liked about it was we saw at least three animals that we had never even heard of! And we go to a lot of zoos and know animals! It was interesting that when the elephants were let out, they had different areas close to the fence where the elephants could grab a snack in an enrichment type toy that kept them very close and visible. We actually found that with a lot of the animals that they're enrichment toys were located in areas that kept them close to the crowds, and they seemed more than happy to be snacking in those spots. The enclosures were not huge, but seemed to be very clean. I was very satisfied with our visit. There are not a ton of food options, but would recommend the bacon cheese Smashburger meal, which came with a drink and very respectable french fries. Seems like a great zoo for kiddos and has a goat petting zoo where they can brush the goats.
