Play Structure is great for a range of ages, my almost 2 year old can do some of it, including the slides, but most is geared to older, bigger kids. Lots of swings, including baby swings. That's a huge win. Unlike most of they parks/playgrounds on the Eastside, this one only very minimally has plastic ride ons or toys about (literally 2-3 and some sand shovels), compare to the overwhelming amount at the others. It's a nice change of pace. So much room to run, 2 mini half court basketball courts. One kid size, one adult size. Perfect for a few hoops, but don't expect game play space. I believe it connects to walking paths down by the river (no vans down there!) but haven't visited those yet. Clean, nearly always empty. We played for a few hours with only one other family there for a few minutes passing thru. Great place and good for a lot of ages.

This quiet neighborhood park has a nice playground, picnic benches, a sandbox and a field.

The botanical gardens are much more spacious than I remember there are 4 different greenhouses with a wide variety of tropical plants, trees, a kid's play space, and an herb and vegetable garden. They even have a mini koi pond with some huge koi. Everything was decorated for the holidays with multiple christmas trees, several different train sets and poinsettias everywhere. One of the train sets has a model city that is supposed to look like Providence. I love model trains so this was fun to see. I do wish they had made the settings a little bit more detailed and realistic. Overall a very cool place and a nice retreat from the coldness of winter. It's very warm and humid in there so it really does feel like you're somewhere tropical. They have some truly gigantic monsteras, jade trees and elephant ear plants. Definitely inspiring for my home plant collection! I had no idea how huge some of these plants could get under the right conditions. I do wish there were more labels on the plants - we found some interesting trees (a fruit tree that was maybe papaya) but there was no sign to indicate what it was. Check it out - a fun, family friendly spot to go on a winter weekend. And don't forget to visit the goats on the way in!

All these years and this place is so close by; no idea how we missed it. We got in a good hike along a variety of trails that zig zag and intersect. Took a side trail to an old mill ruins that was fun. It's smaller than some other trails, with a nice variety of terrain. You need good walking shoes for parts of the trail, and some of the 'dead end' paths (like the one to the mill ruins) are a bit over grown, so wear solid shoes and long pants. There is a large pond at the beginning of the trail and plenty of parking and a small stream that feeds off the pond. It's really lovely here. If you haven't stopped by yet, prepare for some time in the woods and stop by for a hike under the trees.

Immediately greeted by a small pond, which is always a nice feature for a walk through the woods. There are stairs down, and a decent amount to be prepared for that both starting and finishing your trip. There are also some "bridges" over waterfalls with visible openings. Certainly safe, but just a heads up. I took a short stroll around the pond and then up to the left, walking behind the water. There are trail markers which is helpful. A nice quiet spot to enjoy a little time out in nature if you happen to be in the area; oh and parking on site which is always a plus. Can't wait to come back and explore more in the Spring.

Small family owned business. The family really care about their customers and the sport…read more My boyfriend and I stopped by on a whim just to shoot a bit for fun. We paid $20/person which includes a mini lesson on how to shoot and then about 20 min of shooting time on our own. We came not too long after the shop opened so there weren't many people in there yet. We got 2 whole lanes to ourselves. After you complete the lesson and you come back, I believe it's $18/per half hour There aren't many lanes, so if you have a group larger than 4, it might be a tight fit and might want to call ahead to make sure your and your group will have a lane. Overall it's a lot of fun! Would recommend if you just want to shoot for fun or you're a professional and need a space to practice

Expansive space Variety of options…read moreConvenient in Warwick Tangy's offers 26 lanes of 20-yard target shooting, a 3D range with animal targets, lessons, birthday parties, adult and youth leagues, and the pro shop with all manner of gear. For reference, they're located in "St. James Plaza" across from CarMax, with a deceptively narrow ground-floor entryway (the facility is upstairs on the second floor - elevator available). The entrance is clearly marked, however. They have two sets of open hours: summer (Tues-Fri 6-9pm, Sat 1-5pm) and winter (Tues-Fri 6-10pm, and Sat/Sun 1-5pm). My family and I managed to get to Tangy's just in time for an hour's range time prior to their 5pm close time on a January Sunday. The place was not exactly full, but certainly in full swing. Several clearly-experienced people were doing target practice with a little extra space to themselves, a group of renters who looked like they were simply enjoying the occasional outing were on a set of lanes, and numerous more serious archers were getting gear adjustments or shopping for new equipment. Two people were on staff helping out, and they had their hands full. Thus, it took about ten minutes for my 4-pack to get lanes and rental equipment, but then we were set up and good to go. Our time went quickly. Range and rental time aren't exactly cheap. All first-timers are strongly encouraged to participate in a $25/person mini-training. Aside from that, adult rental of equipment is $5 for bow/arrows, and $3 for children while a lane will run $18/hour for adults and $13/hour for youth. My family has all shot before, so we were saved the training time and fees, but it was still $78 for a family of four for one hour. However, it's worth mentioning that if you plan to come regularly, many of their frequent guest programs (from 5-hour range time cards to full memberships) offer noticeable discounts. Tangy's tagline is "Where every level of archer feels at home" - to that end, my older son (11) described the experience as challenging but welcoming; my younger son (9) described it as "ultimately awesome." My wife liked that we were given some space to shoot as a family without too much oversight. So there you have it - their story checks out. I'm sure we'll be back in the near future.

A very pleasant place with nice views of the water but this park also holds a bit of a mystery. The park has baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, and a bandshell where a summer concert series is held. Other events and gatherings are also frequently conducted at the park. It's also right next to the East Bay Bike Path so it's a convenient place to use the bathrooms or get some water while biking by. One of the things that first struck me when viewing the park are the strange mounds that rise up on the perimeter of the park. If you look closely it becomes obvious that these are not natural but created by people a long time ago. These enigmatic mounds are actually the remains of a Revolutionary Fort that was built here centuries ago and long forgotten. No signs or historical plaques are around to mark the site but it's still pretty cool. I couldn't find any signs of recent archaeological activity nor any reference to any digs that have been conducted in the park so who knows what treasures lurk below the surface. Burr's Hill is a nice place that serves many of the recreational and artistic needs of the people of Warren. Interesting to realize that several centuries ago the value and function of the park served a far more martial and less pleasant purpose.
