The falls are amazing but when you ride right up to the falls and you can see them from water level there's just no describing how awesome and powerful nature is! The lines actually moved really quick especially for the amount of tourist that were there. The boat ride is around 20 minutes. The view of the falls from the American side is really good as well when you're riding by. If you're on the American side you can do the Maid of the Mist boat ride, they both take you to the same spot. American boat rides were blue ponchos while the Canadian side wears red. Great for an individual, couple or the whole family! Was not disappointed at all.

It was super easy to locate the meeting point for the boat. As soon as we walked past the main downtown area we saw the blue arches showing Niagara City Cruises. Online there was a disclaimer that even though you are booking a specific time you may need to wait past then to get onto the boat. We arrived at 10:20 for our 10:30 cruise and were promptly beginning out walk down towards the boat at 10:31. When you get to the meeting point for the boat you join a queue that then goes into the lift that will take you down to the boat. There are 2 lifts running at the same time so this process went quickly. Once we made it off of the lift we followed the signage for the departing boat. Before we joined the next queue to get onto the boat employees were handing out ponchos that were included in the ticket price. At this point there was a stand selling snacks and drinks. We did not take advantage of this at this time, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. We conrinued to head towards the next queue which would lead us onto the boat. We had the option of riding on the top of the boat or the bottom, and we chose the top. It was quiet crowded up there but it did seem like no matter where you stood you had a view-and you were going to get soaked. We were absolutely drenched. They take you right to the bottom of the falls. It was an amazing experience that I am so glad that we did! After our trip I watched the later boats going to the falls and I was shocked at how close the boat actually takes you. At some point the most from the falls was so thick I couldn't see. It felt like we were in a rain storm and we were all cracking up and how crazy it was. This tour is 20 minutes which seems like the perfect amount of time to get drenched. We saw both falls, and no matter what side of the boat you are on you are going to have a great experience. Getting off of the boat was quick and easy. They offer recycling for the used ponchos. When you continue on you will run into the food and drink stands as well as ample seating and restrooms where you can regroup before continuing on. They do take your photo before you get onto the boat, and you have the option to buy it for $50 CAD. This include 2 8x10 prints and a digital download. They do add fun backgrounds to the photos, and they do look like there was some kind of editing done to make the image look a little finer. Converted to USD I thought it was a good price for a great souvenir. I will be hanging the photo in my house! We had very little interaction with the employees, which I feel was a result of them operating efficiently. We didn't have any hold-ups from the time we arrived to when we exited. At the end you queue for the lift to take you back up to the original booth for Niagara City Cruises. From there you can simply keep walking and enjoy the view of the falls from the trail. Quick, efficient, and no frills for a fair price.

On the top floor, you're presented with exhibits highlighting how energy is used to power the area and how the falls contribute to that flow of electricity. There were some fun moments of learning that I'd say were suited for kids 10 years and up. The real gem is the underground walking path that takes you right to the falls for a truly unique feel. We spent a good amount of time taking in the sites and seeing how massive the falls were compared to our small bodies. Be prepared for a little bit of moisture and splash back from the waves. While admission may seem steep at first at $35, it really was worth it to get such a wonderful view of the falls. I'd highly recommend this to anyone visiting Niagara Falls and wanting to commit to one of the major attractions for great views.

The tunnel also offers a little bit of a cool down as it's a consistent 60 degrees, so if you've been exploring Niagara during the day, it offers a little bit of a respite and cool down. It's also about a 5-minute walk, so prepare for that before you can get to the deck. It's another one of the spots where you really just get misted, and the poncho is sufficient. It's one of those things where something so simple can bring so much happiness. It's just a dimly lit old power station and a tunnel leading to an observation deck. There are comparable observation decks that are free, but walking the tunnel and hearing and seeing water leaking in, and after walking, coming to the opening and seeing the deck, it's just a fun time.

Went on the hurricane deck at Cave of the Winds and got a hydrotherapy massage underneath Bridal Veil Falls. The water was intense and so powerful. A magnificent experience. We had lunch at Maple Leaf Place. Food was ok. Couldn't really eat from the food court since I have IBS so I don't have much to say about the food. The steak poutine was recommended and I was told that it was good. ‍ I didn't skip out on the maple syrup and fudge tasting though. Yum! Delicious. Had no clue there were 3 different types of maple syrup and I found that I like the dark amber syrup the best. Bought some chocolate covered blueberries and jujubes. My husband loved them...me not so much. I prefer my chocolate with no fruit, but I did enjoy their tasty orange dreamsicle fudge. Because there was a big tour bus that arrived at Maple Leaf Place just a few minutes we got there, our time at the food court took too long since the lines were long and everybody in my family were hungry. This meant that it cut our time for souvenir shopping. I'm sure my hubby was happy about that. After lunch, we went to Skylon Tower and went to the observation deck. Here's my take on Over the…read moreFalls Tours: Good: -Picks you up and drops you off at your hotel, so that's a lot more convenient than having to get to a meeting point. -I wanted to do Cave of the Winds and Skylon Tower, and they were on the list of spots they do, so it was convenient, especially with having to cross the border for Cave the Winds. -David, our guide, was personable and pleasant Bad: -The 20% tip sign. Not so much so for the sign itself, but for the fact that, as a tourist, I didn't have any cash on me. They give you a card at the end to give the guide/company feedback; they could at least give you the option to send the guide payment through electronic means as well. -The hour-long lunch stop. I could do without the lunch stop. Again, some people probably really wanted it, but for me, I would've rather hit more up. -The guide basically just took us to the stops and said meet me back here at X. They say on the site that guides love taking pictures for you, well that's kind of hard to do, if you're way back up at the van. Not that I wanted my picture taken at any time, and if I did I could've asked someone in the group to, but it just seemed odd for him to stay back. Especially if somebody in the group got injured or something. -We didn't seem to do much. Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, lunch, the actual power station, whirlpool, floral clock, Table Rock, and Skylon Tower. I had done pretty much everything else, so I don't know what more they could've done. But maybe they could've done 1-2 more things if they shortened the lunch break. I got a couple of discounts when I signed up, but ultimately, I don't think it was worth it. I don't regret it, but if I could do it over, I would've just crossed the border myself to do Cave of the Winds and Maid of the Mist, and done Skylon Tower on my own.

Ultimately, I think if you do one of the boat tours, you get a closer view of the falls, and this attraction isn't really needed.

This is a nice, relaxing but interesting boat tour through two of the locks on the Erie Canal. Our…read moreguide gave a knowledgeable history and pointed out some historic spots along the way. The best was watching the gates open and close and the water filling up the lock, raising and lowering the boat as we traveled up and down the Canal. Although the weather was very hot you do get a nice breeze and there are snacks and drinks available on the boat. I would definitely recommend this if you have never seen how locks work on a canal before.
