Excellent way to get from the Falls near Table Rock to the nearby Falls Casino Resort. You can also take the easy route walkway from table rock to here but this method is just a bit more interesting and fun. If you have the adventure pass it's free to ride for three days. The railway moves slowly and you have a spectacular view of the Falls as you climb the slope, especially if your in one of the front row seats. Once you get to the top you can still snap photos of those great views from the walkway to the Casino. Along the walking path above there are many more great areas to take photos. I definitely recommend checking this little ride if you are in the area. read more

This is amazing way to get to and from Table Rock where much of the attractions and busses as well as the amazing Table Rock House restaurant are and Fallsview where much of the hotels and high rise dining options are located. My wife, our friend, and I arrived by Flixbus with a wheelchair, five large suitcases, and 3 carry on bags and we weren't sure how long a wheelchair taxi would be available so my wife and our friend ended up taking the funicular up to the Embassy Suites across the street from the Fallsview stop (I think there is a ramp from the hotel but it was closed for the season) as I took an Uber XL with all the luggage. I must say I think we could have managed it all there as there was plenty of space for wheelchairs and luggage. My wife and I rode it two times in the evening in both directions and once in the morning to Table Rock. The price is reasonable, staff are friendly, and views are amazing. read more

This is fun and fine to do once! I'm annoyed there's no easy direct way from the downtown area to the table rock area unless you use the bus or this incline. Coming from the other direction or any non tourist hours you have to cut up to the casino and walk a few blocks. But if you want a cute fun easy way to get down/up to Table Rock this will be a nice entry view you can add to your splurge experience list. I'd prefer if it were cheaper or perhaps you could get a package of rides, but the area is safe and well maintained and it is a lovely view. read more

When in Rome? Canada is close enough I suppose. This attraction is a must do at least once while visiting Niagara Falls. It takes you from the main throughway of hotels and restaurants down to the falls visitor center and falls itself. It's reasonably priced but not much more than a different type of "elevator" experience. I suppose I'd do it again as it was convenient and economical but if I weren't staying in the same hotel I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to get back to the incline Railway. read more

Took this Aug 2019 - if you plan accordingly you can get a day pass for unlimited rides... it was $7 CAD / pp... but lines can be really long and you will be waiting for a bit.. Was a quick ride and was tired to walk all the way around from the bottom to the top and with short or no lines at 6pm, it was great. While the time to read this review will likely be longer than the trip down the incline itself, it is quite the yarn to experience. The rate increased to $3.00 for a one way experience, but it is near to board the trolley and sit up in the front. With social distancing measure in play that divides the benches, it's certainly saves a bunch of time while traversing a piece of history. Not overly impressed. It was pretty slow going at times with one worker running the operations. It would have been nice to say you can get a wonder pass that covers this instead of charging people one way trips. I think they just try to get as much money out of unsuspecting tourists who don't know any better. The alternative is to walk down from the main streets and it might take about the same time if you are made to wait for a long time like we were. If you are staying at the embassy suites and or either one of the Marriott it's convenient but the hotels should also just cover the cost of this contraption. It's not really possible to rate this business less than a 5. Seriously. Either it got you up the hill or it didn't. In every case (in my point) it did. Up the hill success. Better than that, I didn't have to walk around the giant block. For mere pennies I was able to circumvent the city block, and cut a half hour of walking and shoot straight down the hill. The Falls Incline Railway is probably one of the shortest rides in all of Niagara Falls whether or not it's a attraction is subjective - I've always treated it like a mode of transportation because of the time it saves getting up and down the hill. If I were to stay at one of the hotels in the immediate vicinity I may spend the $7.00 (5.40 USD) per person on an all day pass but my interest this trip was only to get up and down once so I opted to pay the $5.50 (4.25 USD). The steep incline was originally known as the Horseshoe Falls Incline. The line was built in 1966 then was renamed in the 1980s. Originally built with open-air cars, it was rebuilt in 2013 with enclosed cars to permit year-round operation. The entire length of the tracks is only 196 feet and pitched at a 30 degree angle and takes only 62 seconds to transverse the hill traveling at a whopping 2.2 mph. If you're never ridden it you should at least once if for nothing else but to help the city justify the seven million dollar renovation cost and since you've traveled here why not... read more

We just came back from a visit to Niagara Falls - staying on the Canadian Side at the Embassy Suites Fallsview Hotel. The Incline Railway is located right behind the hotel. We took it twice to see the falls. There is a nominal fee; I think it was a few dollars. You can also purchase an all-day pass (which we did, though it was wasteful, since we only took it once that day). It leaves frequently; it seems after they pack it! The ride is only about 2 minutes. It has a great view! You get off right in front of the falls. It's not scary at all, so don't worry about it if you were wondering! It moves very slowly. Well it's April and of course the day we stay in the falls it snows. Wet snow too boot. Staying at the embassy suites you walk out the hotel and you get to see the falls and instead of sliding down a muddy hill you can take this train right down to the falls. Been here several times and never took advantage of this. It's a great view and keeps you dry. Small fee 2.75 one way, 5.50 2 ways and 7.00 option for the whole day. It comes in handy if you don't want to walk up one of the streets and get some exercise. If in the falls take a ride!!! read more

This was part of the Niagara Falls Parks Adventure Plus Pass so we used it frequently. You get two day access to ride this as much as you need. It is the quickest and easiest way to get from the hotels down to the falls and back. You can walk down the parkway and up the hill but if your feet are getting tired it is a great break and saves a lot of time. This is a great view of the falls on your short ride up or down the railway. It is located behind the visitor center and very easy to access. read more

I found out about the Falls Incline Railway on TripAdvisor, but didn't really put too much thought into it. I'm a New Yorker - we walk everywhere. For me, taking a little railway that goes up and down between the hotel strip and the Falls didn't seem worth it. Let me tell you, I quickly changed my mind. We originally were going to park near the Falls, but it would cost $20 CAD. Since we already had to pay for parking at our hotel, we thought, What the heck! Let's just drive to the hotel and park there. We could walk down. The quoted walk was about 23 minutes from our hotel - I walk this much every day! The walk was actually down a very steep hill and you couldn't actually get down to the Falls until you reached the end of the Falls - at the American side. Our hotel was at the very end of Horseshoe Falls. After being at the falls for about 2 hours, we were cold and tired. I saw the Railway from a distance and suggested we take it. Tip: There's an overpass inside the Table Rock Welcome Center that will get you from the Falls across the street to the Railway. The cost per person per trip is $2.75 CAD, which I thought was worth it at that point. You're dropped off right by Embassy Suites Hotel, which was only a short, less than 5 minute walk to the Marriott on the Falls hotel. Honestly, it's a cool, short ride. It's a completely tourist thing to to but why not? A short way to get from the top of the hill from the Fallsview, or other tall hotels without having to walk to Murray and going down the longer way, this is a bit of a shortcut. We ended up walking all the way from the Floral Showcase (greenhouses) all the way up the river and up Clifton Hill to Victoria. We took the long way back down towards Fallsview but wanted to ride the incline so we walked to it. It was 2.75 a person one way for the very short trip down but you had a nice view and a short ride back down the hill. It's not very different from the inclines in Pittsburgh although this one is much newer and the grade is not as steep or as long. You do also get a good view going either up or down since all the seats face the falls. read more

People on Google are Goo Goo and Gah Gah over the Falls Incline Railway. I'm really at loss for why. It's a purely opportunistic money-maker, and at 2.50, it's a bit steep. Admittedly, it is convenient, and it serves its purpose for those that don't like walking. Location: 4 out of 5 I guess if you want to get quickly from the Fallsview Area to the Table Rock welcome center area, it's not that hard to find. Once you're at the corner of Portage and Fallsview Blvd, walk down towards the falls and you'll see the Railway. Amenities: 3 out of 5 It's not even a real "railway." Rows of metal seats are inclined in a little car. You go down the hill in about a minute. There is no in-seat service. There is no in-flight menu or movie. You just ride down. View of Falls: 3 out of 5 Depending on where you sit, you can get a pretty good shot of the falls. Price: 1 out of 5 2.50 to ride this jalopy down the hill for one minute? I'd rather you give me a plastic garbage bag so I can slide down the hill. Honestly - if you can't bring yourself to walk down Murray St because you are otherwise just plain lazy, go ahead and pay me 2.50 per person, and I will happily drive you down the road. We rode down and decided to just walk back up (should have done it the other way around). Very convenient to get to Tablerock. I saw this attraction with the Niagara Parks Adventure Pass Plus ($80 per person). Since we took the WeGo or our rental car everywhere we didn't really use this much. After watching Niagara fury and getting Tim Horton's we rode this up to the Marriott - which was very close to the incline. Unfortunately the little girl running the ticket booth didn't tell us that we needed tickets to get into the rail (instead of just using our adventure pass) so we ended up not being able to get a seat. I would hate to see how Hott and stuffy it gets in this railcar during a humid summer day. The view was nice and I meant to ride it down again but I ended up being too tired. It is a much better option than the hill I saw everyone walking. read more

Its $2.50 per ride, $5.00 round trip or $6.00 all day.This makes the most sense for those staying at the hotels that up higher up (Embassy Suites/Radisson). It saves the trouble of going all the way around to get to the falls. The takes you directly to the area that the horseshoe falls are. The horseshoe falls are great but...be prepared to get very wet. The falls are literally 15 feet or so beyond the railing. If you go left after exiting the lift at the bottom you will see the American falls. It an easy and convenient way to make it down to the falls from certain hotel locations. Oh yeah, kids under 5 ride free. I can imagine though, for a larger family, it could add up. read more

For anyone visiting the falls, I'd highly recommend taking this route to get to them if you're staying in the downtown area by all of the hotels. You have to wait a few mins, but the view is breathtaking, and it's a cool experience. And trust me, after walking for hours along the falls, you'll be glad you won't have to climb the incline back up to your hotel. This thing is amazing. We could see it from our romm looking down at the falls and wondered what the hell it was. Come to find out its from the 1800's (this version was built in the 60's). Super cool little car that takes you down to the Falls and gift shop area. Perfect if your staying at the hotels near there. Went to Niagara Falls for a few days. Rode the Falls Incline to get down to the falls - Justine who rang up out tickets was very RUDE! Gave her a chargecard to pay and she tells us "The machine isn't working properly -It's up to you if you want to try, your transaction might get cancelled." HUH? Well, try and if it gets cancelled, you just ring us up again?!?! The transaction did go through. She puts the charge slip on a clipboard and literally flings the clipboard at us!!! These little cable cars are totally convenient. Sure beats walking up a steep hill. This is perfect if you are staying at the Fallsview hotels. You can take a really nice stroll through the grounds of the Casino which leads to the upper booth. The cars are small and everyone crowds in.
