I love this place!!! The designs, variety of styles and prices are the best in Portland. Yes, I said it! The selection is incredible! Every pair I try on totally transforms what I'm wearing and makes a statement. Joel and the others that work here really know how to select the right frame for your face. Warning: they go for the style look. Trust them and go with it also. At first I would select the classic frames but once I decided to view my glasses as an accessory, the same way I select my handbag and jewelry to match my outfit, I purchase glasses that are fun and make a statement. Now that I rarely wear my contacts, I also decided to buy perscription sunglasses and now don't know how I ever lived without them! I wear them all year long and now own three pairs. One pair is progressive and polarized so I can read while lounging at the beach or pool. A girl's gotta live! When you order glasses, it takes less than two weeks to receive. For all of their customers, after you purchase 5 pairs, which is easy to do, you get a free pair. Today I ordered my free pair. A blend of classic and fun: black cat eye frames. I can't wait to wear them! The store is clean & bright with good lighting so you can really see how the frames will look. There are so many to choose from and you can just pick them off the shelves and try on. No need to ask every time you want to see another style. They are all there. It's like a candy store for frames! Oh, and don't worry about putting them back the way you found them; Its impossible. I think they send their employees to a special training class just for that! Oh, and they work with your insurance plan to make sure you are getting the most out of your benefits. They always offer sales and discounts too making their already good prices even better, so get on their mailing list. The level of customer service is unmatched. They will adjust your glasses anytime for free. Whenever I go in to order or pick up a new pair, I bring my others for a tune up. If my glasses are getting out of shape, I stop in just for an adjustment and even if I am not purchasing anything, they provide this service. I've been a customer since they opened and have brought several friends who have now bought 6-packs! There have been times when they get a frame they know I will like, they call me. Now that's exceptional service! I wrote a glowing review on See Eyewear years ago but it disappeared, as happens frequently with Yelp and I don't know why. So I'm writing another because See Eyewear and the people who work there are simply the best. Highly recommend!

Look out Portland, new eyes comin through!!

My family has been a client of this optometry for about 3 years. The experience has always been…read moregreat: eye exams were quick and informative, front desk employees were always helpful and attentive. However this year's annual visit was anything but. It may be due to the change of ownership (I believe it happened either late last year or this year), but my experience with the front desk employee (Sam) was not great. Per usual, the exam was quick, the new doctor was nice and informative, and the other front desk employee (male with glasses) was extremely attentive and helpful. The issue came about a few days after my exam when I decided to use my annual frame allowance for sunglasses (I've had LASIK correction for a few years now). I called the office, Sam answered and I explained what I wanted to do - I've been utilizing this allowance for years. Sam looked up my insurance and asked if it was for prescription glasses. I said, "no, non-prescription". She then quickly told me that I couldn't use my insurance allowance for that purpose. I asked if the insurance had changed in the last year because I've been doing this for years. She said no, it's always been like that and that there's nothing they could do. After letting her know to double check the clauses of the allowance, she checked and noticed that clients with lasik procedures are allowed to use their insurance for sunglasses. She didn't apologize for initially providing me with incorrect information, she just went on and asked what frames I wanted. I told her the model and she noted they don't carry those. I thought I had gotten the same brand from them the year before and said "but I got them last year from you". Quicker than lighting she had already pulled up my prior orders to correct me: no I had not ordered that brand with them! She seemed annoyed that I was even asking. She proceeded to tell me that if I wanted that brand I would have to go elsewhere and referred me to a competitor. She didn't give me options to go online and use a prescription to order them myself, or anything else. I asked for my prescriptions (mine and my husband's) and headed to their competitor. Blessing in disguise - the front desk employee at this new place was a delight, the optician helped us get the sunglasses we needed without much hassle and we proceeded to schedule our 2026 annual eye check with them. This experience may not be representative of the entire practice, but it shows you that customer retention is just about being nice and patient with your clients.

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. The technician is friendly and knowledgeable, and ran me through several diagnostics on very high tech machines. The doctor is outstanding, very thorough and provides excellent explanations of what she observes, what the options are, etc. The staff here is excellent, and this is a very well run business that provides high quality services.

I am extremely disappointed to discover that this business continues to use keywords such as "eye…read morecare" and run Google Ads targeting frame lines it does not actually carry, despite being directly asked to stop. At this point, this no longer feels like an innocent advertising strategy. It appears to be a deliberate attempt to capture searches and redirect potential patients who are specifically looking for other independent practices and brands. What is particularly troubling is the apparent focus on small, female-owned, single-doctor practices with limited staff and resources. These are not large corporations with unlimited marketing budgets. They are small businesses that have invested years building their reputations, relationships with patients, and relationships with premium eyewear brands. Using another practice's name, services, or associated search terms to attract patients--especially after being asked directly to stop--raises serious ethical concerns. Patients deserve transparency. They should know exactly which practice they are contacting, what brands that practice actually carries, and who is ultimately providing their care. I strongly hope this business will reconsider these practices and take a more ethical, transparent approach. Small businesses deserve a fair opportunity to compete without having their hard-earned reputation and patient traffic undermined by advertising tactics designed to blur the lines between businesses

When the receptionist brought it up, I asked if it cost extra; she said yes, and then told her I wasn't interested. You'd think it would end there. After Dr. Breeden finished the main portion of the exam, she made it a point to get up, close the door, and lecture me about the importance of dilation, imploring scare tactics, and comparing it to having vitals checked. This was just insulting. It's my health, and it's my money, and I have the right to opt out. I'd like to think that professionals could take a hint that money is clearly an issue for me without me having to say HEY, I'M FUCKING BROKE, I'M JUST HERE TO GET A PRESCRIPTION SO I CAN BUY CONTACT LENSES. The icing on the cake was not being given (or emailed) my new prescription at the end of the visit. After I emailed them asking for it, there was another little passive aggressive cherry on top -- part of my prescription was left blank, and I had to dig up my old prescription to find the number (the BC, or base curve, which is either 8.4 or 8.8 when ordering contacts online). So thanks, ladies! Very professional.
