OL Skool and LS Motorsports - 1999 kx 250 motor tear down

I brought my 2000 Harley Sportster 883 to Ol Skool & LS Motorsports after dealing with some ongoing…read moreissues for a while which included an oil leak and fuel/air mixture issues leading to "lean sneeze" and power loss when accelerating. Before contacting Ol Skool & LS Motorsports, I previously contacted several other shops in which I was told they didn't want to take on the work for a Harley Sportser, which was pretty frustrating. Lawrence, the owner, was willing to take it on--and I'm really glad he did. He replaced the rocker box top seals and push rod gaskets, rebuilt and tuned the carburetor to match my exhaust and S&S intake, and re-gasketed the air intake system. He also tracked down and fixed both an oil leak and a separate gas leak from the carburetor. Since getting the bike back, it's been running great. What stood out most to me was how easy Lawrence was to work with. He stayed in touch throughout the whole process, kept me updated, and explained things in a way that actually made sense. His pricing was very fair too, especially considering the amount of work that went into it. If you've got a bike that other shops won't touch or can't figure out, I'd definitely recommend Ol Skool & LS Motorsports. Lawrence knows his stuff and takes care of his customers. I'll be going back for any future work. - G

As soon as I left his garage & got on freeway the oil feed lines arced together causing complete failure. Every drop of oil gushed out all over my rear tire & the motor I just spent over 6 thousand dollars to rebuild seized up & it's fried. Leaving me stranded on freeway & he didn't even offer to refund the $500 he charged. Or offer to fix my bike. I'm totally devastated "STAY AWAY "from this totally incompetent IDIOT!

He has done my suspension (front and…read morerear), rebuilt my motors (top and bottom) and adjusted all aspects of my bikes to custom fit me. For my friends, he's tuned carberators on older bikes, upgraded intakes and exhaust on newer bikes. Bottom line is whether you need a simple oil change, 5 point inspection or rebuilt motor, Brandon at Alias Performance is the the man!! He'll get you on the road and keep you on the road at a fair and honest price. Trustworthy 100%

He comes off as a nice guy who seems knowledgeable, especially knowing his experience, but it is all deception. I was referred to him by my painter who also had his bike there and had known him for a long time. I was doing a full custom job, new motor, parts, accessories and everything. It was supposed to be a few months, but ended up being over a year of lies, which i will not get into unless you want a hell of a story. During that time he had lost and eventually found my bike lift i let him borrow, my handlebar mirrors, center diamond on my chin spoiler and lighting i previously bought. He had lied to me that he took the bike to the dyno and it needed a new fuel pump, then he lied saying it needed a throttle sensor, then he lied about the Dyno guy being an HA member when i asked why the dyno was taking so long to get scheduled. He lied about SOOOOO much more, but again, its a hell of a story. When enough was enough and he finished, on top of the painter needing to repaint and powdercoat multiple parts Brandon scratched, I got my bike back with the following issues : fork pinch bolts missing along with wrong bolts in cap (meaning there was nothing keeping the rod that hold your wheel in place from working itself out and potentially killing me if i was on the road), top of fork boot bolts missing and the ones there too short and not grabbing, fork fender spacers had 4 completely different bolts, one being primary gasket bolt, leaking and broken clutch cable, Zee's custom gauges installed incorrectly not allowing dash cluster to bolt up and causing one gauge to get water into it forcing me to send back to shop to rebuild, missing bolts on alternator, missing bolt on center of crash bar, missing center diamond for mesh and all hardware for chin spoiler (which he glued the mesh together because he lost the screws), exhaust tip screws too long pushing up inside metal, missing 3 of 5 lid latch screws on each side, missing 2 of 4 screws for the hooks the lid closes to, bolts for bag skid plates missing nuts (screws held in place by the fresh bag paint), car trunk size lid gasket, not allowing lid to close (had to replace with proper size harley gasket), new heavy duty chain had much weaker model master link he had to have pulled from somewhere else, missing 21" spacer and rebound coils from legend front fork inserts (which caused me to bottom out on my new fender with new paint), front speakers disconnected, front blinkers wires pinched, new custom dynamics lighting not working from wires being pinched, air cleaner rubber vent pinched from not being correct one and center bolt lost because he grinded a bolt to fit, lost bad dad hide-a-plate brackets and replaced with carbon L-brackets that he painted getting overspray on parts, missing bolts for tour pack reassembly, floorboards missing the piece in hardware that prevents them from flopping, missing 2 out of 4 Rick Rack saddlebag securing bolts and the biggest issue was that he never purchased the kit needed for the S&S motor oil lines to the transmission, but instead just drilling holes in the completely wrong places on my transmission and piecing together hoses to fit. That left me with 2 options, either replace the entire transmission or plug the holes. Then to buy the required kit and install per manufacturer instructions. Now, i find out the DG plates he said he installed for the clutch were factory harley plates that would have slipped and not lasted. There is so so so much more to this story where i have lost 2 years and so much money, so please dont end up having a story of your own and stay away. He has already been sued and lost during this same time. After checking, he also does not have a business license. He is no longer at the Tracy location, but i found out he is now setting up in Stockton, so dont be fooled and stay away from Brandon please!!!!!
