After a very long flight and a late-night arrival, all I wanted was food--immediately. Luckily, Sedona Bar & Grill was open late and within walking distance, which felt like a small miracle after hours of travel. The walk itself was actually refreshing, and once inside, the place was cozy, lively, and still buzzing with customers. Service was immediate (bless them), so I ordered a sangria--which hit the spot--and the carnitas fajitas. I absolutely scarfed them down. They came out hot, flavorful, and exactly what my exhausted, hungry soul needed. Drinks and food were delivered quickly, and the server was friendly and helpful the entire time. Now for the real star of the show: I had read reviews mentioning a black cat, and yes--the cat with the broken tail is still there. Stopped by while in town. Being right next to the beach, this place was perfect for getting a quick meal. I was able to sit where I wanted and had plenty of room. Fair selection of food inspired from the American South West. The tacos were perfect. After looking around the restaurant, all the food looked good. Will come back when I'm back in town. read more

When the description says sizzling and the pictures show a cast iron skillet, I expect the fajitas to be sizzling on a cast iron skillet when served to me. Alas, the chicken/beef mix was prepared elsewhere and dumped on the skillet. The fajita mix was very dry and pieces of the rice were rock hard. I can't recommend this place unless you are staying at the hotel nearby. There have to be better options in Rota. read more

We travel to Rota every three months for medical appointments, so after 12 hours of fasting for blood tests, we are ready for a hearty, American-style breakfast. Retirees are not welcome at the NSA Rota Chow Hall (the commissary and NEX are also off-limits), so we usually make the trek across town to the Sedona Bar and Grill. Their breakfast is pretty good by European standards with US-style hickory-smoked bacon, sausage, eggs made to order, crispy home-fried potatoes, and toast, all for around €10. They also have pancakes and other less savory options. For lunch and dinner, they offer Mexican dishes, including tacos, nachos, and quesadillas among others, but we have only been there for breakfast and I cannot comment on the quality. If they had buttermilk biscuits and country gravy to go along with the breakfasts, they would get top marks in my book and we might just make the drive to Rota more often. This restaurant is very nice. Thy have 2 patios along with inside dinning. I ordered 2 fish tacos. They were served on flour shells with fried shrimp, tomatoes onions and cucumber slices. It's very okay Tex-Mex. I ordered the fajitas and the seasoning is there. My issue is with the refried beans and rice place. The rice is not cooked all the way, leaving it crunchy and the refried beans are over cooked, leaving them dry. I haven't tried brunch here yet but they do serve it Saturdays from 10-2. read more

Tried several dishes and all were outstanding! Had two different taco plates, excellent, the beef chimichanga, very flavorful, and the special of the night, pulpo on a sweet potato purée, WOW!!! The chef here is amazing and added so much flavor to the community. I also really liked that they offered draft beer beyond the typical Cruzcampo and San Miguel . Juan has gone above and beyond with wine and beer suggestions. Every time we go, the food never disappoints. We've had salads, one in particular. The Bacon and Goat Cheese Salad. It has a very generous serving of cheese that is grilled. A delicious olive oil dressing, sun-dried tomatoes, diced green apples and crispy bacon. Although I hold the bacon. We've had the Salmon, Garlic Shrimp, Burgers, The Healthy Sampler.... delicious!!!! Everything is delicious!!!!! Friendly staff and good food. Attached to La Espadana hotel near the feria grounds with street parking only. My friend and I split the carrillada (pork cheek) tacos, black truffle and mushroom quesadilla, and the Belgian fries. Although the portions looked small, this definitely filled us up. The tacos were really good. It isn't on their regular menu as it may be a special for this month (May 2016). The meat had so much flavor and was very tender. The chipotle mayo that accompanied the fries was a great dip. The fries are a big serving, good enough to share for two. I was expecting the quesadilla to be like any other quesadilla, but the truffle really adds a unique flavor to it. Very delicious and i would definitely get this again if the craving hits. It was my friend's birthday and even though they didn't have to, they gave her a free slice of chocolate cake which was so delicious and moist! We had no problems in devouring it. I've been here twice so far. Once for Brunch and another for Lunch. Brunch was really good, with a very American style menu; including eggs, toast, pancakes, Monte cristo, and fresh squeezed Orange juice and mimosa's. Lunch had various things but most of them were Mexican items. I had the chimichanga which was a very big sized portion and tasted very good. This restaurant is located next to a hotel and across from the beach. Each time I've been here it has been pretty empty and I was served rather quickly. I just had some fantastic fish tacos here, and I'm from San Diego where fish tacos are everywhere. The restaurant is at the front of the Aparthotel La Espanada. They have a menu in English and the restaurant is frequented by Spanish people as well. Like most places in Rota, you walk in and sit down without waiting for them to seat you- although I would recommend grabbing a menu first if they're busy. The service was a little slow because they only had one server and the restaurant was full at 7 pm on a Monday. Regardless, I've now been in Rota for three days and this was in the top meals I've had. Very quality place and I will be back. Came here for brunch. They messed up the drink order, my husband ordered Coke Zero and he got regular coke small detail. When the waiter came back we let him know and brought another regular coke, guess he wasn't listening. When they brought out the OJ and mimosas they were both room temperature. Warm mimosas are horrible! We ordered French toast and the Sedona Slam and it arrived roughly 20 minutes later not bad for brunch. The French toast was ok. The Sedona Slam consisted of two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pancakes. The only not tasty was the pancakes. The pancakes tasted like flavorless bread. After finishing our meal we had to request the bill three times and we almost had to pay for warm mimosas. read more

My first trip to Rota and my first restaurant to eat at while there so I nothing to compare it to intially. Fear not as now 2 weeks later I do and can safely say that the food and service were exceptional for a sports bar. It is stumbling distance to the wonderful Hotel Playa de la Luz where I stayed. I see some disgruntled reviews about service. Not sure where that comes from but service in Spain is slow by Amercian standards so dont expect that, enjoy the wait with a cold beer or glass of wine. We were seated and ordered drinks immediately and waited no more than 10-15 to order our food. Slow? Perhaps but nothing out of the ordinary for any other restaurant/bar we frequented in Spain. Who doesn't love a good weekend brunch? This is the place to go. Start with a mimosa. A single is served in a champagne flute for 2€ or order a double at 4€ for a large wine glass full! I ordered the breakfast burrito without beans. The flavor was great but I wasn't a huge fan of the little sausages inside. The Sedona Slam gives you a little bit of everything and is very good. I came to this restaurant in a busy night. I ordered a "classic burger" from their menu, with a Mojito to drink. The Mojito took them 30 minutes to bring out. I waited about a "whole hour" expecting the food to come in with great hopes, but yet nothing... It wasn't until I asked the waiter "have you guys finished making the burger yet? ". The confused look on the waiters face told me they had forgotten my entire order, the waiter pulled up his order list pretty quickly, and told me that it would be done in ten minutes. I ended up waiting for 30 minutes until my order finally arrived. Food was wonderful, service was even better. My wife and I had the "Healthy Sampler" and we shared the Goat Cheese salad. Both were delicious. For entree's, my wife had the pork enchiladas, and I had the Cuban panini with pulled pork and ham (we ordered way too much food). They were delicious. One drawback - don't sit on the back patio unless you want about 10 sailors blowing cigarette smoke on you during the entire meal. Very annoying! Restaurants in Spain need to tell patrons that smoke, "Go away. Our other customers don't want to smell your garbage." I wish we had eaten inside where smoking is not allowed. I ordered for 3 people over the phone for pick-up and they said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. (Wow) The place is 10 minutes from my place so I sat around for awhile and gave them extra time before heading over. When I got there the food wasn't ready..which I understood because we ordered a lot. So, I ended up waiting about an hour for my food. Pulled pork nachos - Nachos were soggy and stale. Huevos rancheros - Not bad. Tuna tataki - eh.. I'll stick to Japanese Tuna Tataki. Black truffle quesadilla - Yummy. Filet mignon - It was okay. The mashed potatoes it came with were delicious though. I paid around 50 bucks for all of this. No drinks and none of them blew me out of the water. read more

I really love this place. The food is great and never disappoints HOWEVER, I recently visited here, as in a few hours ago, and when I sat down I was greeted by no less than 20 flies. It was quite annoying. When I received my food I just could not see myself swatting away an infestation of flies while trying to eat one handed so I moved outside in the freezing cold just to enjoy my meal in peace. I've been here a total of 6 times and this is the only complaint I have. If there is a huge amount of flies in the dining area what am I supposed to think about the kitchen??? read more

Attached to the hotel I was staying at, it was super covenant to go here with my family. The have brunch, lunch, and dinner and are very kid friendly. Their patios are dog friendly too. Service is good normally and the waitresses are friendly. They have English menus and some of the staff speak English. Food is overall very good. I think dinner is their best meal. read more
