The place is the typical size for a Rota restaurant but we have never had trouble getting a big table for a group if we show up before 21:00.

Venue: Come for the food, stay for the ocean view and sunset. This place is in a great spot next to the beach and easy to find. You will need to park your car somewhere in town, we parked a few blocks away near the Embarcadero parking lot. The restaurant is also very clean and if you arrive right at 8pm, you don't really need a reservation. Staff: Great service, especially for our for customers that don't know how to speak Spanish. They are fluent in English and very helpful in ordering local favorites and fresh fish. Food: We loved every item we ordered and it was nice to be able to share the dishes so we can all experience each other's plates. The grilled octopus was tasty and not too smoky or salty. The croquettes weee surprisingly tasty and not fishy at all. Definitely come here if you want to have dinner with a group or want to relax and enjoy a fun meal. We came here during the week and did not need reservations, but it can get busy on weekends, so make reservations if you can.

We tried 10 different tapas and they ranged from good to excellent. All were very reasonably priced and delicious. We will definitely go back and will take some friends with us next time. We have eaten at many places that serve tapas and these are some of the best we have had. You can also order them as raison or plate (larger quantities). They also have a variety of fish, squid, and quiche but we have not tried those yet. They have menus in English or Spanish. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and speak a little English. We had no difficulty communicating with them. Seating consists of stools at the bar, 4 tables and chairs inside and 3-4 tables and chairs outside. Note: Euro cash only; credit cards are not accepted. Give it a try... you won't be disappointed.

The food that I ordered was served separately, meaning that the accompanying sides were served before the main entree which for me was a steak. My potatoes and rice were cold by the time my steak arrived. The steak got cold waiting for the sides to return. Asked for a hotplate to warm up the meat, but this was not available. The steak was returned to the kitchen for re-heating. A second entree that was ordered by two guest of mine was served with different sized portions for the same thing. Comments made to the wait staff fell on "deaf" ears. It was almost as if the attitude here is " It is what it is". I will never return.....total price for the meal $240.00 euro.

They have a television to occupy your eyes. They have a good selection of tapas and now it includes caracoles (snails) as most places are offering right now (it's May). Don't want to sit inside? They have tables under umbrellas in the plaza too! You can sit down outside and someone will come out to take your order. Each time I have been here they have been quick and courteous. I just had a coffee yesterday. During Rota's warmer days you'll find all their outdoor tables taken... very limited parking in front. A public parking garage is located about 4mins away from the plaza de España, in the direction of the Torre de Merced. This is in old Rota, and after your coffee or tapas, I strongly recommend a walk through the older calles which is most relaxing, along with seeing the Castillo de Luna past here towards the beach. It's lovely.
