One word... Gemstones. Love Sedona for their great selection of beautiful stones. I used to come here more often when Borders was still in business, so now my visits are limited. Upon entering I always head straight for the glass cases in the middle of the store. Sometimes I will be drawn to a pendant, and my visit & purchase will be quick. The other weekend however, there were about (4) different pendants that I was strongly attracted to. I ended up with a beautiful teardrop shaped moonstone. Although this pendant was a little pricier than what I normally pay here which runs about $70 - $80, this particular stone was $119. The items in the glass cases along their walls towards the back are ridiculously priced so I try not to veer in that direction. Customer service is okay. They tend to do their own thing, which in a way is good because no one is following you around asking if you need help with finding something. They pretty much are there when they know they need to pull something out of the cases for you to try on or to take a closer look at. Another thing I love about Sedona is the little information card they stick in with my purchases that list what that stone is and the energy it is supposed to increase or help with. They also have free gift wrapping, & they do a really nice job with it. I come here strictly for their jewelry, I don't know about the psychic readings and other things they may offer. All I know is that this is the perfect place to find a special gift whether it may be for you or someone else. read more

I've been to this place many times in the past whenever I come home to visit my sister in Honolulu, but I don't think I've written a review about it. We visited here on the day of the Farmer's market...the place looks so much more larger than last time and I love the vibe of this place. There's so many beautiful things, beautiful jewelry, everything shiny..... I'm drawn to the many stones and crystals. If you are not ready to commit to buying the larger stones, you can search in the little bowls and they are only $1! I could not stop at buying one and ended up spending over $10. I love how the staff inserts the info sheet about the healing properties of the stones. I don't know how they remember what each one looks like but I love this extra touch that they do. Maybe one day I'll see one of the many psychics listed in their binder near the check out counter. I read some of the psychics are straightforward and I would prefer that over the sugar coated kine. Near the front door there is a display of the Chinese New year and according to the feng shui based on whatever sign you are, what to do, avoid, where to put objects. Every time we shop at Sedona all of the employees welcome us and had the best customer service. I've been to Sedona a handful of times and made several purchases over the years but yesterday was my favorite visit by far. I came in looking for little stone/crystal jewelry for Christmas presents but felt overwhelmed when I saw the huge array of stone types and sizes. Chris, the store's stone specialist, helped me out and man I felt SO confident in my purchases. He is an EXPERT when it comes to stones! I had about 7 friends to buy for and I wanted all of their stones to be unique to their lives. I decided to pick out a few small stone beads for each of my friends and make the jewelry at home since I had all the materials and tools already (FYI - they can make it at the store but it costs a little extra per item). Talking to Chris was like talking to a therapist - I felt so comfortable sharing everything with him knowing that he knew which stones would complement each friend best. I also learned a LOT about traditional practices and beliefs associated with each stone I chose. I ended up spending roughly an hour in the store but I am so incredibly happy with my purchase. I grew up coming here because my mom always used to bring me here (she still does, actually). When I was little I used to think Sedona was just full of weird, cool stuff and now as a weird, cool, adult, I love this store! I come to Sedona mostly for their jewelry because I'm not really into some of the other interests to which they cater (tarot, psychic readings, etc). Their crystals and stones (and matching jewelry) make this a great place for gifts. Against the right side of the store as you walk in, there's an entire wall full of beads to make your own bracelet. The stones all come in several sizes (I want to say three or four different sizes) and each type of stone is accompanied by a slip explaining what the stone represents and is used for. The bracelets can be a bit pricey by the end considering you're paying per bead, but the bracelets end up being beautiful and exactly what you wanted. In addition to their stone jewelry, they also carry other types of jewelry (claddagh rings and pendants, for example) and other dainty pieces of silver and gold jewelry. They also carry a small selection of clothing and bags. Okay - basically, if you think "hocus pocus-y," you'll find it here. Right now they have Moon phase necklaces; if you provide the staff with a birth date, they can look up the moon on that day and turn it into a necklace. Neat! The staff also contributes largely to the shopping experience here. Everyone that works at Sedona seems to genuinely be interested in what the store carries, so when you ask a question, you receive a genuinely helpful and informative answer. Every time I went to Ward as a kid, I always stopped by Sedona. Now years later as an adult, I still had to stop by Sedona. It looked like they moved one spot over (confirmed in the reviews, score, my memory isn't that faulty!) which threw me for a bit. However, walking inside and I was transported back in time. There's plenty of things to purchase in Sedona, ranging from oils to crystals to articles of clothing and jewelry. I decided to buy amethyst earrings because amethyst is my stone and they looked pretty (I'm easy like that). While I was browsing, a customer and her boyfriend came in to talk to an employee about a purchase she made earlier that day but found faulty. Chris asked me some questions that wasn't probing or too personal. His friendly demeanor allowed me to open up and he was able to make a suggestion. Not pushing a sale at all but really narrowed down to which crystal he that could really help me. Since I already had this crystal, he said that's what I need now and I'm all set. It always amazes me to find this store still standing considering what's been going on with Ward. Sedona always catches my eye, and draws me in to admire all the beautiful crystals and incense. However, I leave immediately because of the negative energy I feel upon entering. Evil spirit perhaps? Nah, more like snooty employees who seem too occupied with making sure I don't touch anything, yet can't muster up the courage to say "hi, welcome. What brings you in today?" If your employees can't be bothered with a simple greeting as I stand like a statue by a display case, cash burning a hole in my wallet begging for instant gratification, then I'm not going to buy anything. I'm not a bad shopper, I worked in retail before. I know how it can be. But that didn't mean I could just stand behind a register and clean things without so much as a glance and a smile when a customer walks through the door. Now I understand that you're in an area that probably has a lot of lookie-loos, window shoppers, etc. But part of being a good retail associate is converting a looker into a buyer. But how on earth will you do that if you can't greet a customer? Customer service starts with the employee, especially in a more upscale establishment like Sedona tries to be. I am in favor of local buisness and would rather buy in person than online. But not here, no. I probably won't ever buy anything from this store because: 1. Get no chance. I can't even look at stuff that's under the display case, no one wants to help me! 2. Why would I want to support a place that can't seem to train their employees in customer service? Always a fun store to browse through. They've got tons of unique, interesting metaphysical gifts for yourself or a friend or two. I've purchased hanging crystals, unusual and uncommon pieces of jewelry with crystals, beads or gemstones, spiritual gift and affirmation cards (not religious), aromatherapy incense and oils, tarot cards and many stones from their beautiful, extensive collection. I love the fact that they give you a little piece of paper with the name of the stone and information about the stone you've chosen. Also on a whim, I've called and scheduled for a spiritual reading by one of their psychics for a little fun, guidance and clarity on my life at the time. I was a little intimidated at first when my name was called and I was led up their stairs to a table with a large crystal ball. I've been to many psychic readings in the past, but never one with an actual crystal ball. This particular psychic told me that she specialized in past lives. Interesting. Her sweet and calm nature quickly put me at ease as she helped clear up some of the things in my current rocky relationship at the time along with some crazy talk about my many past lives shared with this guy as well as many other close friends in my life. It was interesting how she told me that this particular guy has been with me throughout many of my past lives whether it be as my spouse and Grandfather at one point, but explained that we've always had problems with eachother. She said that until in one of our lifetimes that we solve whatever problem we're having, we will never have a happily ever after relationship. If you ever go into Sedona and you see a tall guy who is chanting in Nordic, that's my friend. Interrupt his chanting and you'll find yourself on a large wooden ship with a Viking hat and sailing on rough seas. Oh, and louder Nordic chanting. This rating is only for their psychic readings. My "psychic" Sundae had to ask me questions to feel me out before going into a subject. She would read a card and ask me if that was correct. I decided to respond "I'm not sure" to everything. So she said that my cards also read that I'm in a "confusion state". She predicted that I wasn't getting married. I told her she was wrong. Then after questioning me a little more, she looked at her fortune telling app on her computer and told me that yes she sees marriage in my near future.. and this was AFTER she asked me when I was getting married. My disappointment was that this session felt like an interrogation versus a divine fortune reading. I felt she was dishonest and should have said, "I can't be a psychic in the fortune telling sense, but I can give you guidance after asking you lots of questions." I was asked so many questions. Great place to find gifts! My daughters birthday is coming up and I was on my way to borders as I happen to come upon this store. It was the display of Crystals & Gemstones that drew me into the store. I've always been fascinated with the different colors, variety, properties and energy fields crystals & gemstones are known for. I was fascinated with their collection and spent an hours sorting through their collection. The store had labeled and identify the crystal and gemstones healing & spiritual properties. They have a section where customers can create their own custom beads. Each bead was priced differently and ranged from $1.50 to $3.50. I made a custom bead for my daughter which totaled about $30. They provided me a gift box and included a description of each crystal and gemstone healing & spiritual properties. If your not to familiar with Crystals & Gemstones I recommend a simple easy to read book titled "Pocket Guide to Crystals & Gemstones" by Sirona Knight. I'm not sure how they do it, but Sedona has a quite unique and refreshing mood and energy, and of course keeps so many beautiful and carefully-chosen stones, crystals, and fashion items in stock. The consultants are very friendly and interactive, and since all seem to have some sort of metaphysics as their chosen vocations, are surprisingly knowledgeable, as well. When it comes to selecting stones and crystals, it is easy to go wrong; new-age items are all so inherently attractive! However, with the right help, one can find the very best match for one's current needs and budget, and that is where the consultants truly excel. On this past trip to Oahu, they went *very* far out of their way to search for some hard-to-find items, and especially to take the time to help us with various guided purchases. They made our trip! For about a decade now I have practiced candle therapy, crystal therapy and meditation. For me, these things are what I find spiritual, and I take them very seriously. I also happen to be a big believer in astrology and people who have psychic abilities. Say what you want about all of this, I think it works. Sedona happens to cater to all of these types of practices. They have a very welcoming store with very friendly employees who know their stuff. It's great that I can walk in and talk to a guy in the crystal section about why my quartz wand I use for daily meditation is forming green spots in the center of it, and what does it mean exactly. Or that I have a need to work on my manipura chakra and what crystal would help aid in that? He knew, and he helped me find the answers to my questions. They have an okay candle section of you need to pick up a simple meditation candle, but it's not great. Perhaps that will change since they are expanding. They carry incense, oils, cd's, cards, cleansing sage, and have an in house psychic. They mainly dabble in crystals and and MAN do they have crystals. Every size, shape, color, type you can think of you might need, it's there. You can get it in loose form, jewelry form, pendulum, wands, clusters...you get my point. They are on the higher side, but they are trying to run a business so I get it. I had just finished getting my hair done and I saw this little store right next door and decided to go in and look around. This store is very organized and clean. The salespeople are polite and helpful. The only reason for the 3 stars is that it kind of seemed like "the hallmark" of metaphysical stores. There was nothing mystical-feeling about the place. Everything just kind of seemed manufactured and fake. :/ I suppose when I think about places like this I am hoping for a rustic little store with old trinkets. Growing up, I've always had this strange fascination with metaphysical things. I still remember coming in here when I was in elementary school with my dad. He bought me a sand dollar (that sea shell thingy?) because I told him I had an attachment to it. Fast forward YEARS, my cousin and I come in here because she was trying to convince me about crystals and gemstones and how they work. I didn't really believe her, I was like whatevz crazy lady but I accompanied her anyway to Sedona. I'm sure it's some psychological thing in my brain that convinced me that they work but my cousin bought me my first crystals and I've been addicted ever since. Now I'm that crazy lady that carries around a pouch filled with pretty rocks. They are very organized and the sales associates are very knowledgeable about their products. Along with the crystals and gemstones, they give little papers with information on it, which is very helpful to beginners. Some times are hit or miss with price but today I managed to buy two gemstones for $6 each and they were pretty big. Keep in mind that when you shop for crystals or gemstones, they 'call' to you.
