So, I stay busy between Olympic weightlifting and grooming adorable pups! It's a super active life, but let me tell you, it means my body is constantly working overtime! Because of all the heavy lifting and the repetitive motions from grooming - especially all that bending and lifting dogs - my shoulders and pretty much all my joints and muscles take a serious pounding almost every single day. If I don't proactively take care of myself, I'd probably be out of commission pretty fast! That's why proper body recovery isn't just something I *should* do; it's absolutely non-negotiable for me to keep doing what I love, stay healthy, and perform my best in competitions. And that's where Cristina comes in! Honestly, my monthly sessions with her are a total lifesaver and a cornerstone of my routine. She just *gets* it - she totally understands the specific kind of stress my unique lifestyle puts on my body. She works her magic with deep tissue techniques and knows exactly where to focus, not only melting away all my chronic stiffness and keeping those potential injuries at bay, but more importantly, making sure my body is perfectly primed and ready to absolutely crush it at my weightlifting meets. Thanks to her incredible expertise, I can really push myself safely and confidently, knowing I've got the best support system to bounce back and stay in top form! read more

Came in to see Christina after a hip injury at the gym. I had done TP, and worked with my chiropractor for a while, still dealing with a lot of pain where I couldn't walk, sleep, sit, pain was always there no matter what I did. When one day my friend recommended her! We did two sessions together, a few months a part, but after that last session no more pain, that was two years ago, and I haven't had any issues since. She's amazing! read more

Christina is extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough. My traps were knotted and tight from lifting and stress and Christina was able to use cupping, scrapping and the right pressure points to relieve the pain. She was able to reduce tension headaches I was having and overall soreness in my upper traps. Highly recommend anyone suffering from knots, tightness, or headaches to reach out to her and go in for treatment. read more

Very thankful to have Sedgwick Bodywork in my routine. I always leave in an elevated state of mind and with my muscles feeling taken care of. Over the years visiting Christina I have noticed a difference in my posture and the way I can recognize my body needing some bodywork done. Christina offers cupping, muscle scraping and CBD cream. Aside from bodywork she also has the Hyperice compression boots that cover your legs to promote a faster recovery! I feel this is very convenient aswell if you've got 15 minutes to spare. Her office is located in a private powerlifting gym in Gardena but her practice is open to the public! I love the decor in her office space it's definitely a soft vibe which helps relax the body. There are also snacks you can grab on your way out which is such a cute touch. I feel everyone should take the time to get bodywork done, you should not wait for something to hurt or a tweak in your muscles; preventative measures are key. This applies to everyone not just lifters. Again, I cannot express how thankful I am to be able to see Christina, she is a great massage therapist with years of Olympic weightlifting backing her knowledge on understanding athletes needs. Very easy to book via her website where you can also see next month's availability, always reasonably priced. read more

I'm so excited to have a place to write a review for Christina as she is undoubtedly an expert in her field, and every session with her has been exceptional. One of the things that immediately strikes me about Christina is her dedication to understanding her clients' needs. Before each session, she takes the time to have a detailed discussion about my preferences and any specific areas of tension or discomfort. This personalized approach ensures that every massage is tailored to my exact requirements. What truly sets Christina apart is her own athletic expertise. As an athlete herself, she possesses an understanding of the demands the bodies face. This deep insight allows her to pinpoint and address issues with incredible precision. Not only is she a great masseuse, she is also a great educator. During each session, she shares her knowledge about muscle anatomy and the mechanics of the body. This has given me a deeper understanding of what's happening with my muscles and how to better care for them outside of our sessions. I've found her massages to be not just relaxing but genuinely therapeutic. I can't recommend her enough to anyone seeking not just relaxation but genuine relief and improvement in their physical well-being. 10/10 recommendation. read more

I pulled what I thought was a back muscle just a few weeks before my powerlifting competition. I went to see Christina and she knew right away that it was a glute muscle after working on me. I felt a huge relief after the first session and she sent me home with stretches to incorporate to prevent this injury. I went back for a second session and was fully healed by the next day. Christina is passionate and knowledgeable about what she does. Highly recommend her not just for injuries but also for tight muscles or just for a relaxing massage. She's the best! read more

As a competitive athlete, Christina is extremely knowledgable about the body and how it should move, feel, and function. Not only did she help relieve my pain each time (back, knees, hips) almost immediately but she also explained some potential causes and walked me through protocols for addressing similar issues if they were to come up in the future. She does a great job of explaining complicated things in an easy to understand way making sure you leave her office w/ more than just pain relief. Definitely a worthwhile experience, will keep coming back as needed!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Christina and her work. I've been going to her religiously for over a year. As an athlete that trains for hours a day and with pre-existing injuries from decades of sports she always takes time to listen to me about what is bothering me currently. She doesn't stop there though! She will work other areas around the pain points because her knowledge of connective tissue and muscle groups is so extensive. She understands that where you're feeling pain may not be where the pain is actually originating from. She takes her time to ensure you're comfortable and taken care of properly. Every time I go to see her I walk out feeling better and the next day I feel like a new person! If you're looking for a knowable, caring, experienced, massage therapist that isn't just going along with whatever their studio wants them to do, Christina is your girl!
