Guys, be careful with the deceptive tactics they use when negotiating the trade in value of your car. They low ball you and ask you to take your car to CARMAX with no intention of honoring the appraisal. It is a total waste of your time. In addition, they state they Offer military discounts to veterans and then state that it really only applies to 20 year retirees. I needed to remind them of the 1000 dollar discount for all veterans. When this was the prior dealership before Sedano Ford took over, I had a service appointment for an oil change that went horribly wrong, and I was left sitting in my car for 40 minutes waiting for my service advisor. After 40 minutes, I went inside and asked and Employee what I needed to do in order to get my service manager to come and take care of me, and was told me to just continue to wait in my car. I angrily but patiently waited in my car for two hours more. Eventually I went inside again and found my service advisor, and he told me that no one let him know that I was there, even though I had an appointment. I call bs. I went through with the service appointment and sat in the lounge just mad, and I said to myself that he had better not come to me with any additional charges for anything. After everything I went through the service advisor offered me the standard 10% discount off of my service appointment, ;^(. Evidently my time was pretty worthless. I believe it was the next day when I drove back to the Ford dealership, I spoke with the service manager Trevor. He apologized and said that at the least my service advisor should not have charged me for the oil change service at all. The manager wrote on a business card that I have a free oil change, and I would've used it sooner since this was 2022, but I stopped driving as much, and the next thing I needed was new tires, which was cheaper to order on Amazon. With that the closest place to my house that would install the tires was PeP Boys on Sweetwater Road, and since I was there, I had them do the oil change. Now it's 2024 and I contacted Sedano for to see if they would still honor my free oil change, and while I was prepared for the worse, I only got positive feedback from Sedano Ford Service Manager, who said that they would honor my free oil change. My Vehicle overheated one day and they told me there was a crack on the coolant! Supposedly they fixed it and kept me back and forth for 3 months. They kept making me pay a $100 copay every time I came for them to check. I got tired of wasting my time and work just to bring it in and them letting it sit for weeks without even check it. I was greeted IMMEDIATELY upon driving into Service Department (10 mins before my appointment time. Didn't even have my car shut off yet when rep was at my door. I was checked in, and on my way back home in a courtesy Lyft ride BEFORE my scheduled appointment time of 7:20! Also, shout out to Mike Vermilya. Service Department... We had an appointment yesterday at 8:20am to have our car checked out as the "check engine" light is on. We are now coming to the end of the second day with no word on what might be the problem or a quote or anything. We have ONE car and it's sitting in the service department because an appointment means nothing. The last time we had an appointment it was a week before they got to our car. Reluctant to write this review because do not want to negatively impact good people trying to earn a living. That being said, I cannot recommend service department at Sedano Ford, specifically if you have a Ford that is older and out of warranty coverage. I recently took my 2011 Ford F150 in after I changed a battery and failed to do a proper BMS ( battery monitoring system) reset. The anti-theft system prevents the car from being started. But there are workarounds for this to drive temporarily. I drove to my mechanic in La Mesa who diagnosed and recommended taking up the street to Sedano where they had the diagnostic and bench equipment to properly reset the system. I did this and explained exactly that. The next day was informed that vehicle needed a fuse relocation kit for fuel pump and a cleaning of the throttle body. They said that everything else good to go. This cost me $1140 of which $1082 was labor charges. Picked up next day and as driving down the street a block from Sedano, multiple blinking lights on instrument panel and anti theft/ battery icons that were present when I brought the vehicle in were on. Fuel gauge not working as well, showed empty. Pulled into nearby gas station and turned off and filled up with fuel. Could not restart truck because of original problem - antitheft system engaged because of BMS system not being reset. Sat there for hours researching online for an answer and found another mechanic by phone who helped me find a workaround to get engine started. I called Sedano service department and explained that they did not fix the issue for which I brought truck in for and they asked me to bring in so that they could make it right and they wouldn't charge me for another diagnosis. This time the diagnosis in writing verified concern for what the vehicle was originally brought in for. Anti theft module faulty. They recommended taking the vehicle to a non- Ford shop to do the work. Reason given is that they don't do this type of work and vehicle too old. I was given back my keys and when I tried to leave my vehicle would not start. Was told that it was working earlier. After an hour trying to get truck to start so that I could leave and bring to another shop, I decided to leave it there and go home and try to find out if another shop would accept a towed vehicle to their shop. The next day I went back to Sedano with both sets of factory keys ( recommended on YouTube Ford forum) and got vehicle running and drove back home. Sedano Ford asked me to fill out a survey and to give them 5 stars and if not able to please call them or service manager first. I did contact them and told them I was reluctant to write a bad review but did not have a good experience and found their services not acceptable. Service manager said that I could bring the truck back and that they'd try to remove faulty module but said that I would have to pay if anything broke or went wrong because the truck was so old. I found this unacceptable and declined this offer. I feel like they are setting me up for more charges and no way of knowing that the tech would even know what they're doing. My level of trust is about 1 on a scale to 10. Again, my recommendation is that if your Ford vehicle is NOT covered by warranty to AVOID this company's service department. Sadly, the policy of maximizing profits over good customer service and fair pricing is all too common and is the rule, not the exception at automaker authorized dealerships. This is my experience as honestly and accurately as I can describe it. I hope this helps others when making a decision about your auto repairs. read more

I would definitely not recommend this dealership. The sales process was aggressive and their follow through is not good. They failed to pay off my trade-in in time so I had to make extra payments. When they did pay it off, they failed to refund me the extra payments. It's been 3 months and I've been there multiple times and they keep coming up with different excuses. My husband was trying to buy a new business vehicle and found one here via their website. Having his own business means working 6 days a week sometimes and while speaking to the sales guy, we told him our only day available to sign would be Sunday. Our sales guy, Uriel was super understanding and came in on his day off to make sure everything went well with the purchase, especially because we were driving 3+ hours one way to get the truck. My husband discussed the terms of the loan, down payment, and all other details over the phone with the manager, Paul, before arriving to sign. They even went out of their way to call Ford finance and get us a better deal than what was usual! They did what they could to help us get our payment where we wanted it. Ali was the finance guy who did our paperwork and he was friendly and explained everything when we had any questions. We had an incredible experience overall and will be coming back for any future Ford purchases! (Raptor upgrade for me soon?? lol) We recommend this team to any and everyone. Also, Manny Sedano is the new owner and he used to own dealerships in the Bakersfield area a few years ago! Turns out he sold a vehicle to my parents in the past! Wanted to sell my car as I am moving out of the state. Went through KBB.com and got a number of dealers willing to purchase my car. Went to Sedano Ford in La Mesa, CA and the associate I was working with (Jonathon) went to work evaluating my vehicle. Ironically the sales manager was giving a pep talk to all the sales associates about how they need to buckle down for the last half of the month and catch up with their competition. Jonathon came back with an offer, it was less than I was quoted and hoped for, I countered and he went back again to talk to his manager, but the manager was firm on the offer. After thinking about it for a minute, I accepted. Jonathon went back to start the paperwork while I waited. After 10 minutes of waiting Jonathon came back and said his manager changed his mind...no offer. Wanted to let people know that Sedano Ford does not do what they say they are going to do. At 1st appointment at dealership for recall repairs I was told this process would take 2 days. This was news to me and I had to reschedule due to my own work schedule. When rescheduling I was told the recall repairs could be accomplished by mobile technicians. A Fri. a.m. appointment was made for mobile repairs. The agreed on service time came and went with negative contact. No phone call, no text, no email, nothing. The following week Sedano service was contacted for an explanation for missed appointment and rescheduling. I was advised that subject recall repairs could not be performed via mobile. Also, a service advisor would make contact when parts were available. When a company can't keep appointments or even have the courtesy to advise a client fully I have serious doubts of their ability to perform even the simplistic repairs.. The veteran ownership appears to be AWOL. read more

Between Angel Herrera, my service advisor, and BUTCH SCHIPPER AND ROBERT RADDER I am very grateful for their expertise and being able to find a strange warranty issue that was hiding but happening intermittently. They understood my concern with the expense of my car repair and while out of their field of control I was comforted at the fact that I knew that the mechanics cared when I did a ride along with my mechanic. He ran me through the possible scenarios while remaining professional, and working with the situation later, finding out that the guy has been working on cars for 40 years is impressive my car runs like a brand new car right now and I'm so happy I'm not scared to drive on the roads. I thought that I was going to rate my experience five stars, but after being overcharged $5000+ due to negligence, I can't do better than rate my experience leasing a vehicle here a single solitary star at best. UPDATE: One week later I sent an email to the GM of this location explaining the overcharge and how it never should've happened. The GM helped me to completely resolve this overcharge and correct my contract to reflect a price that was over $5000 less expensive for the vehicle that I drove off a the lot. I am going in to sign a new contract in a few days. ** my initial experience was worth one star at best. ** the actions of the GM is worth five stars at the least. I have to average this experience. (The Bad) My initial contract did not accurately reflect the discount that should've been applied. (The Bad) The floor manager refused to attempt to resolve the flawed, overcharged contract. (The Bad) After they had my money, it felt as though the sales staff didn't care about anything else especially me. (The Bad) I went through approximately five days of overwhelming and unnecessary stress. (The Bad) I was treated like that as a veteran. -------------------------------- (The Good) Robert in finance was a pleasure to work with, and in the future would be even more helpful than he was if he were to inquire about (any potentially missing discounts) before a signature is applied to the contract. (The Good) I had only good intentions from the start. (The Good) I didn't react negatively or at all towards any of the sales staff or employees when they were refusing to correct their oversight. I simply gathered my belongings and walked out.. (The Good) After I emailed the GM, he phoned me within a few minutes, and after a brief conversation, he agreed to include the discount and rewrite my contract. BEST OUTCOME EVER!!! (The Good) I can let that unnecessary stress go and move on. Scheduled my vehicle for an issue covered under warranty in May of 2023. Now it's 2024 and I have yet to have any work done to my vehicle. Just a voicemail saying they're still waiting on parts. I know Covid put a damper on parts but come on, 8 months? I cant drive in my neighborhood without waking everybody up due to the rattling and screeching my engine makes that is "safe to drive." Even when my vehicle is parked in my driveway I have to silence the alarm that goes off all throughout the night, every night, due to a faulty door sensor. It has been 8 months of "waiting for parts" and a real headache of an experience owning and driving my vehicle. I will not buy another vehicle from here, and only went the dealership route for maintenance because of my warranty and extended service I paid for when buying in the first place. read more

Super stressed out after a long day and now this? Asking Google didn't help either. Front desk at Sedano Ford tried passing me along to different service reps but no one was available. Brandon literally got me back on the road and home safe, and I really appreciate his good attitude, knowledge, and patience. Purchased a new vehicle from Ford Sedano about 2 years ago, vehicle now has 32,000 miles and engine is making lifter noises, Plus transmission makes sounds like coming from the throw out bearing and slave cylinder. Took it to Ford to have it checked out and they literally drove it for 1.6 miles and stated that there was nothing wrong. They did this because I took vehicle with the warranty I purchased, they quoted me $100 deductible to have vehicle looked at and diagnosed. When my vehicle was ready the service advisor wasn't even around, they end up charging me $235, the breathalyzer inside my vehicle was locked out causing error codes so I had to take it to get it calibrated which cost me $95 dollars. Vehicle is still making noises and shifting horrible, there was no point in me purchasing extended warranty for vehicle if they don't even bother to check vehicle thoroughly and respect people's items as they literally wasted all the mouth pieces for my breathalyzer. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE AS THEY WILL NOT TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY!! I have a second recall which they didn't fix or bother with it and gave me some run around about it and my reverse camera is still acting up, they said they couldn't get the camera to act up. This is for the service dept. I turned in my car for a recall and possible exhaust leak on a Monday, got my car back Thursday. They fixed recall, but assessed everything wrong with my car and handed me a $11,000 invoice. Received a text the same day if I was interested in trading my car in. The man I spoke to mike (very kind and great customer service but very fake feeling) let me know that my best possible choice was to trade in and get a new car as my car is so badly damaged that it would be way too expensive to even fix. I took my car to Broadway tire and Auto, $690 later I have all brand new motor mounts and a completely sealed and fixed exhaust. I bought this car off the lot from Penske and I miss the guys who used to run this place (older Hispanic dudes) it used to be like turning in your car to your uncle and you knew he had your back. read more

They made me an appointment and confirmed the vehicle was there. When I arrive there's a bunch of clowns in the sales waiting room. They are not doing anything, just standing around. I tell them I have an appointment with Ava the lady that has been texting me and at that time I am informed that Ava is artificial intelligence. December 2024, My husband and I purchased a 2014 Chevy Silverado which at the dealership appeared to be a great find. Boy were we wrong! This vehicle should have never been available on their lot for anyone to putchase!! To date, February 25, 2025, we have spent damn near $9,000 for the following repairs: new engine, a starter, gas cap replacement, coolant temperature sensor, and a thermostat. I cannot thoroughly express my disappointment with this dealership and our experience. Feels extremely predatory in nature; screw the experience of the customer and just get their money is what this experience feels like. This review is only for the sales staff agent Jeff Pembleton (5 Stars for those of you who read this). This guy was the exact salesperson I was looking for when buy my Ford Maverick. No up charges or gimmicks just straight and simple, with a little negotiation down on the price. He not only found my car model but he even showed me a new color that I was ok to switch too. This in turn gave me a few more options without having to wait for it being shipped. This guy is the sales guy you want if you want a no BS deal. Finance office however was very painful and required me to come into the dealership a total 5 times for issues that were missed on the contract and issues that actually didn't exist because of a paperwork mix up but still bothered me weeks after driving off the lot. Dealership gave me a full tank of gas for the hassle but honestly, I do NOT recommend working with that particular finance person I had the displeasure of being assigned too. I won't say who it was because the dealership's GM contacted me afterward and apologized for what has happened and I am sure that person will be better trained for the next person they interact with. With that, I give a 1 star rating for the finance team as the buying experience was dampened and brought me to the edge of not wanting to buy a car from any dealership ever again. read more
