I went with my friend yesterday to Lemon Grove Mossy Honda to buy new vehicle. We met a sales guy who should go for a hand and asked us what we were in need of for today. My friend said she was talking to Joseph Rodriguez. So he excused himself, and Joseph came right out. He greeted us with a smile, introduced himself, shook our hands, asked our names, and petted our dog. Let me just say the car buying experience with Joseph was phenomenal. He showed us the vehicle that was previously discussed via email. He then walked-thru all the features, options, upgrades, and warranties that were available and then asked if we would like to take a test drive. I should mention that I have a service dog and use a walker, which wasn't an issue, and we went for a nice test drive.
Joseph continued to describe all the safety features and bells and whistles while we were on the test test drive. When we returned, my friend had decided that she would purchase the vehicle if they could decide on the right selling price. Joseph honored the price that he previously quoted, they came to an agreement, and completed all the necessary documentation and paperwork.
I want to commend Joseph Rodriguez for the quality of service that we received from him. He was attentive, professional, knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and went above and beyond what was needed to complete his part of the sale. He's an outstanding employee who represents the quality of service you want when making such a large purchase. 5 stars , 10 out of 10!
So that was the first part of my review. Now, let's go on to the second part.
The only thing left to do was to go see the finance guy. He was busy with another client, so we had to wait for him in the showroom.
The finance guy, I believe his name was Luis, or something close to that, came out, introduced himself, shook our hands, and then immediately said to me, "I'm sorry, you cannot take your dog back to the office." I said, "even if she's a service dog?" And he said, "no, they don't allow it."
I was shocked, looked at my friend, and she could tell that I was getting ready to go off on this guy and school him about California's laws, but she gave me a look and aasked me very nicely, to wait out for her there. So instead of arguing with him and causing a scene, I did like she asked.
That moment, right there, ruined the entire day and buying experience for me. I was so upset, that if it was me buying the car, I would have have walked away from the entire deal rather then deal with a person like that. So, I would give him a 1 out of 10 for customer service.
My friend said his office was a complete mess from the clients' kids before her. A service dog would have never done that. You think that he would have taken a minute to make it more presentable. He was fine while they were completing the paperwork until she declined all the extended warranties. Then, he became "Mr. Personality." He lost all interest in her and couldn't get rid of her fast enough. She said, "I would give him a 5 out of 10 because he did help me with the DMV work." "He was fast, but that was because he was done with me."
This part of my review is for those who are in charge at Mossy Honda Lemon Grove. I wanted to make you aware of your employees' behavior and his discriminatory practices. I can't remember a time that I have ever been treated that rudely. You need to educate him on the Disabled Persons Act (DPA), which protects the rights of people with disabilities and ensures them, and their service companions, additional protections and equal access to public places and accommodations under the state laws of California! read more
