After I raised concerns about what I believed was a misdiagnosis and being overcharged for repairs that did not fix the original issue with my vehicle, I reached out to the shop directly to address the situation. To their credit, once I called them out and explained the ongoing problem, they agreed to take another look at my car. Upon re-evaluation, they acknowledged that the initial repair did not resolve the root issue. They worked on the vehicle again and ultimately fixed the original problem at no additional charge. I appreciate that they took responsibility and made the effort to correct the situation. While my initial experience was frustrating and felt misleading, I do recognize their willingness to make things right after the fact. I hope moving forward they improve their diagnostic process to prevent similar issues for other customers. Updating my review to reflect both the initial experience and the resolution.

They let me take the vehicle - no attitude all the way to my mechanic in San Marcos - 50 mins away to get checked - not once, but twice! First time, we found a coolant leak and front rotors needed changing (all used cars have issues) and GP the manager assured me he would have those fixed. He had no problem with me taking the car again once repairs were done to double check. When my mechanic then found the rear rotors also actually needed to be changed too, GP didn't give me grief - he said no problem, we'll get it fixed today (he knew my son was coming into town the next day to look at the car). GP was all round great to work with. My husband went the next day with my son to negotiate an exchange of my son's old vehicle for the new. They dealt with a different sales person. He said his experience was okay. While he wouldn't say it was the most pleasant experience he was fine with the deal worked out so overall, 5 stars - for taking care of all the mechanical issues without being weird about it.

I am filing this complaint against La Mesa Preowned regarding my vehicle purchase and the…read moredealership's handling of my financing. Since March 27, 2026, I have been going back and forth with the dealership about my financing. I was repeatedly told I had been approved, but I received multiple letters from the finance company stating that my application had been denied. When I questioned the dealer, he asked me to come in to discuss the issue. During that meeting, he told me to pay an additional $1,000 toward my trade-in because he claimed it needed extra repairs. He also instructed me to misrepresent my income to the finance company, and I later discovered that fake pay stubs had been created and submitted without my knowledge or permission. I did not hear from the dealer again until June 11, 2026, when he demanded that I return to the dealership immediately. I informed him I was out of town, and he became upset. I later received a certified letter directing me to contact the dealership within 10 days. I did so but received no response. After hearing nothing further, I discovered that my vehicle had been taken without any prior communication or explanation. I believe I was misled throughout this transaction, pressured to participate in dishonest financing practices, and left without proper communication before my vehicle was taken. I respectfully request that the Better Business Bureau investigate this matter and hold the dealership accountable. I have copies of all financing denial letters, call logs, text messages, and other communications documenting my repeated attempts to resolve this matter and am prepared to provide them as evidence.

"Buy your car from Hadi. Period. Don't bother looking somewhere else because Hadi already did all…read morethe homework for you." I wish someone had said THAT to me. I would have saved myself money and heartache. This is my story. I have been shopping for a used car for a long time because I want to avoid the monthly payment that comes with a brand-new car. There is a HUGE CATCH: I know nothing about cars. And I don't know where to start. I have been lost in the used-car-shopping desert for over 40 days. A friend of mine [Hadi's neighbor] told me about Hadi, who agreed to do a pre-sale inspection. However, through a series of miscommunication and mis-expectation between this particular friend and me, I ended up buying, not from Hadi, but a questionable third-party seller. Hadi went out of his way to make sure this transaction works out for me. Please note -- he is not the seller! He did every task conceivable for me -- who knows nothing about the car buying and registration process!! Trust me -- you will not find another dealer/mechanic who is willing to donate his time and energy and thoughtfulness for free ----- just to make sure your vehicle works out for you. Words can't express my gratitude towards him. Yelpers -- we all heard those awful jokes about used car salesmen and mechanics. They are inappropriate because an honest and caring and amazing used car owner does exist. Paykan Auto in San Diego? Oh man, buckle up, because you just asked for the…read moreyou-can't-handle-the-truth truth about these guys. Most mechanics in SD see a car with a weird noise, a dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, or something that's been Frankenstein-ed together from three different continents, and they immediately hit the panic button: "Nah, too complicated, take it to the dealer," or "That's gonna cost you an arm, a leg, and your firstborn." They run faster than you do when someone yells "free In-N-Out." But Paykan Auto? These legends look at that same nightmare job--the timing belt on a 20-year-old import that's been babied by someone who thinks "maintenance" means prayer, the transmission that's been slipping since the Obama administration, the electrical gremlins that make your car randomly play polka music--and they just crack their knuckles and say, "Challenge accepted." They've been fixing cars (and selling solid used ones) at 5486 El Cajon Blvd for years, with reviews screaming honesty, fair prices, and straight-up wizardry. One person literally said their family has used them as mechanics for 15+ years while buying multiple cars there. Another called Hadi and the crew "THE BEST!!!!" They tackle the stuff that makes other shops sweat: weird European mods, beat-up daily drivers on their last legs, you name it. It's like if Jack Reacher was a mechanic--quiet, no BS, gets the job done right, and leaves you wondering why everyone else is so scared of hard work. You roll in thinking your car's doomed, you roll out thinking, "Wait, that was actually affordable AND it drives better than when I bought it?" Truth bomb: In a city full of mechanics who ghost you harder than a bad Tinder date, Paykan Auto is the rare shop that doesn't flinch. They handle the repairs everyone else runs from... and they do it with a smile, fair pricing, and zero drama. If your car's throwing a tantrum that would make a toddler jealous, take it to Paykan. Just don't blame me when you become one of those people who starts every story with, "These guys at Paykan fixed my [insert horror story here] like it was nothing." (Pro tip: Call ahead--Hadi and the team are busy saving San Diego's sanity one scary repair at a time.)
