Maaaaaaybe this would have been a little easier if we had been through the process before and knew what was going on, but I don't know. Things got a bit dicey at the end of the week before closing, but it all worked out. If you have any doubt about what is going on, call! No It was during one of my initial conversations with Mark that I expressed how important it was to me that my loan was serviced with a reputable provider and that I worried about it getting sold and causing me issues down the line.  I had done my previous mortgage loan through Wells Fargo and since it was a large bank they managed my mortgage loan and it was really smooth. Unfortunately, I had heard horror stories from friends and coworkers who didn't go through large banks and had their loans sold only to experience issues down the line. Mark assured me that mortgage loans almost always were sold and that it wouldn't cause issues for me. He was 100% wrong. My loan was sold shortly after we purchased the home and Mark or someone from his team wrote down our address incorrectly on the paper work. This caused our mortage paperwork to be mailed to our neighbor. I almost missed my first mortgage payment because the information on how to pay was only included in the mail that had been incorrectly sent to my neighbor. I had to spend several hours on hold to track down what had happened to my paperwork and retrieve my account number. I thought I had it all corrected and now yearly a year later I had to spend 10 hours on the phone with the mortgage provider becuase they incorrectly dispersed my property taxes to the wrong account because of that initial paperwork that was incorrectly filled out during the loan transfer. We made it clear with Mark, we did NOT want to deal with our loan being sold to a horrible loan service provider. Lo and behold, it was, and it's caused us a lot of pain. With so many lending people to work with, I would not recommend Mark. Find someone else.

My wife and I were looking to refinance our mortgage to get rid of PMI. Our realtor recommended HomeVantage. Colin Gregg was our loan agent. Initially they gave us a good rate and it was competitive with one other offer we got from another lender. The fees were higher than other offers, they charged us a full 1% point. However Colin claimed that we could forgo two mortgage payments with HomeVantage - by not paying our mortgage until we closed on the loan with them. Since they claimed they could get it closed before we'd owe another payment. This was a draw for us....until I called our current lender and they claimed we would be charged late fees if we did that. So I ended up paying for that month and we only got one month with no mortgage payment. This ended up being a pretty big point of contention with them. They also attempted to charge us a fee for a lock extension and did not contact me to explain why this was happening until I refused to sign any more documents. At which time they relented and ate the fee they were charging us for the lock extension, which was not our problem or fault. Pretty sleazy to leave us in the dark while just randomly sending us a form adding money to the loan for not my problem. Communication was poor throughout the process. Multiple times I asked for claims that Colin made in writing via email, and this was never provided because he claimed to be "slammed". We got a decent interest rate but overall I would not recommend HomeVantage. You can do better. We got our original loan from UFCU and I would recommend them.

AWFUL!!! TERRIBLE!!! I need more words to describe the completely horrific experience we had with…read morethis company. Originally, we were with people who were with a different company, then, in the middle of the process, they joined Vantage. In that process, they completely neglected to tell us many time-sensitive pieces of information. I cannot disclose the exact nature of that information because it's private, but trust me, we nearly didn't get the mortgage finalized in time to close. It was incredibly stressful because every time we called and talked to the brokers at Vantage, they told us something different. I really don't think they knew what they were talking about and I feel like they were just trying to give us some kind of answer to get us off the phone. They didn't communicate well with the title company or the realtors either. It was a gigantic stressful mess. Plus they kept sending important paperwork to the WRONG ADDRESS! They couldn't keep anything straight and we wasted dozens of hours on the phone with them trying to fix things. As if buying a house and moving wasn't stressful enough, they just turned the stress up to 11. Plus, as soon as we closed, they sold our mortgage before we even made the first payment and didn't tell us!!! We had no idea how to make our first mortgage payment and they gave the wrong address to the new mortgage company, so we weren't even getting the notices. If it wasn't for our own due diligence, we would have been late on our very first mortgage payment. And now, we find out that before they sold our mortgage, they didn't make sure that our insurance was paid through escrow. We only found this out because we got a notice in the mail (somehow to the right address) that our insurance will be canceled due to lack of payment in 3 days and now we are scrambling to figure out where the money we already paid for insurance ended up.

It wasn't even a competition between the lenders, Leahy lending was by far the best. I worked with James on a refinance and he advised me as if it was his own home. The other lenders were obviously just trying to rush through the process and just get it closed, but James at Leahy Lending took the time to actually tell me the pros and cons of different paths and advise me on the best way to meet the goals that I wanted out of the refinance. I would highly recommend Leahy Lending to help with a new home or refinance. They can make a very confusing and process approachable and easy to understand.

Diane Myers said she would address it in the documents, but didn't even after being provided the correct legal wording. She did not provide the documents beforehand and seemed surprised that I was reading before signing. And we needed to transfer the HOA passwords to the buyer during their closing and these were left on the front desk public area where anyone could pick them up (I had to ask them to put them behind the desk but perhaps with the buyer's closing doc might have been more secure?). And lastly, the HOA transfer required the new buyer to sign 2 copies of a state form (they only had him sign 1). Realtors should choose other Title companies instead, as this was very straight forward and wasn't correct so I can imagine what happens with a complex close.

Melissa not only found a way to obtain a mortgage for me, but I received great terms as well. In addition, we were able to close in less than 30 days. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. They started out fine, but 2 years into our…read moremortgage, they said our taxes were late, which we paid directly to the county we live in. My wife spent a year dealing with these idiots. Their customer service sucks and their right hand doesn't know what their left hand is doing. We finally got is sorted out, however, they initiated an impound. Another year later and we get a letter saying they are readjusting our yearly taxes and now want a $2,000 reserve. We've decided to consult with an attorney. We never pay anything late, and our FICO is o er 800. They are scam artists.
