Took my pocket watch in to have it serviced, hand was loose. Asked that it be cleaned and adjusted, Took 3 months for it to be done, Found that it was back earlier, but not updated in the "computer". I purchased a Triton tungsten carbide silver, diamond ring and upon arrival I noticed that the fit was larger than my size. I had measured my size at 13 1/2 and ordered my ring. After reading various websites, I discovered that .Tungsten rings fit larger than the measured size. I called Security Jewelry and told them about my large fitting ring. I returned my ring to them and changed the size from 13 1/2 to size 13. My new ring arrived and after opening the package my replacement ring was there. BE AWARE - My husband bought both my engagement ring and wedding band here. Within ONE MONTH of having the wedding band, a diamond fell out. However, FAR worse, this past weekend, my supposedly platium setting cracked on the prong of my engagement ring, and the diamond fell out. I would be extremely cautious about using this jeweler. I ordered my wedding rings from here, as they were the only place in town that could get them. While ordering, was mildly irritated that they tried to upsell us to more expensive rings, but that is to be expected. They arrived shortly before my wedding (I don't recall why the timing was late - probably due to when I ordered them). I stopped in two days before my wedding to pick them up, and they couldn't find the rings!!! I left the store in half-freakout mode, but they called the next day saying they found them. I told them I wasn't available to pick them up (pre-wedding stuff), so asked if my fiance could get them, and they said yes. He stopped down to pick them up, and they wouldn't give them to him! They said I needed to sign the financing paperwork, and they wouldn't release it without my signature. I totally understand needing everything in place before finalizing the purchase, but this is the day before my wedding, after you lost my rings, after you told me my finace could pick them up. I had to go in myself to pick the rings up hours before my wedding (pro-tip: nothing makes you look more disorganized than running errands while wearing a bridal veil). After the wedding, we looked at the custom inscriptions inside the rings. Mine was correct, but my husband's inscription was visibly crooked. We brought it in, and the woman at the counter examined it with a jeweler's loupe. She said that after examining, she could see the inscription was slightly off and could be redone. Seriously lady, you didn't need the jeweler's loupe to see the text was 5-10 degrees crooked - it was immediately obvious just by looking at it! They did offer to get the ring correctly reinscribed at no charge, and the repair was at the correct angle (the only reason I'm giving them two stars instead of one). read more

I had stopped in to have my diamond jewelry appraised, and potentially sell, and I am a novice about everything gem related. My first appraisal was an excellent experience, professional, courteous. It was with one of the owners that my family had done business with, and he came in pretty much what I expected. This was August 2017 and I chose to wait a bit before selling. I stopped in again on October 12, 2017 and had a devastating experience. I younger gentlemen was reviewing my diamonds rings coming in at what I was told before and then another sales agent, unknown to my aunt, swooped in and took over after spotting my large diamond. Asking if I wanted to sell it. He took the diamond, and the younger man raised his hands up and said, "he will be helping you now" and this man, balding with a mustache, asked quickly if he could clean my large ring and I said yes, but didn't realize that meant taking OUT OF MY VIEW. He as gone before I could say another word. My heart shattered. He came back with I pray to God my original ring, and came in with an appraisal 3000.00 less than my original that was done there, telling me it scored far less and was a low quality ring, after it has been appraised at a moderate quality since the 1980s. My ring appears to be the same ring. I never thought about a jeweler taking your products out of view until this actually happened, and now reading reviews on Yelp as I explore other jewelers, I know that this is a sign of a shaddy business. He took countless phone calls and emails from me as I kept thinking of "just one more question," prior to making my purchase. After I received the watch, I had a concern about it-Jay's response was to overnight it back (free over charge); he took care of my concern and had it back to me in time to give the gift! I ordered a pendant from a catalog from one of their suppliers. It was impossible to tell from the picture how chintzy the piece actually was. It was supposed to be a synthetic sapphire set in silver. A jeweler on the same block said she had no idea what the "stone" material was -- perhaps plastic? I returned to Security Jewelers and requested a refund. I was told by an elderly man -- apparently in charge -- that I was THE FIRST PERSON IN THE HISTORY OF THE BUSINESS to be dissatisfied with a special order! I said this didn't sound credible. But the assertion was repeated -- with the additional comment "THAT'S WHY WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO HANDLE THIS PROBLEM." They finally gave me a partial refund. I expressed the hope to them that this would help set a policy in the event there was ever a SECOND person to be unhappy. I am expressing the hope to you that you are not that second person. read more
