Been going to this location for 12+ years and its often a great place to find cool items at reasonable prices. Selling or pawning can be hit or miss as they often have a rotation of newer staff. Employees Cassie and Mario have both been at this location for many years and have been very kind and knowledgeable every time I pawn or buy. A+ employees. Many the recent newer employees have been exceptional as well. Most subpar employees don't seem to last more than a few weeks or months, which is good. The Manager and assistant managers have all been professional in my dealings. I check this location often due to its great selection of video games and electronics and highly recommended this pawn shop for anyone in the market for these types of items. read more

I was in the market for a new smart watch, found it on their website for an incredible deal. Never heard of pawn America before so took a risk buying from them. I ordered the watch at 2am Friday soon as my paycheck hit and called their customer service number to see if it would get shipped out that day. Their customer service team is awesome, very friendly and answered the phone on the 2nd ring. Shipped out the watch same day and got it Monday, like wow super fast shipping. Watch is in impeccable condition like the website said and completely worth every penny. I would totally buy from them again. read more

This place is a joke, I understand it's a pawnshop and the value will be lower because they have to resell but listen to this. I had just bought a ring and a necklace from Security Jewelers before I went up there. Right off the bat they asked if they could bring both in the back to clean them *red flag* (they were purchased an hour ago and cleaned). They glanced at the ring and said that they could not take it because it was costume jewelry ($1,200). Two men inspected the necklace ($3,100) and asked me how much I was looking to get for it. I said I had it appraised and that price was $3,100. One of the gentlemen then proceeded to tell me when they appraised it I got an insurance appraisal and that's why they "quoted me such a high price". He told me the absolute most he could give me was $300 because it was worth nowhere near that. Again I realize it is in fact a pawn shop and they have to get something for resale but still.... come on. read more

My experience at Pawn America Duluth was completely different than I expected. I went there on a whim to see what the inside of a Pawn Shop looked like. I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff person and welcomed by other staff as well. It wasn't at all gloomy or messy, but rather well organized and pleasant. I observed a manager handle a tricky situation with grace and professionalism, the way you would wish for at a more upscale department store. Is by far the worst business I have the displeasure to have done business with. I recently pawned a $600 subwoofer, it was a rockford t1 15" and when I picked it up brought it home and took it out of the box I noticed that it was rock stiff. For you that don't know about speakers they ate supost to move I contacted corporate and they told me the Duluth store would get ahold of me. To say the least they never did. $600 subwoofer $100 interest, total loss of $700 thanks a lot Pawn America. read more

As not only a borrower, but a buyer, I fully understand the cost of borrowing. Interest is 120% a year plus another 10% fee to cover expenses. We all know that the borrower is slave to the lender. Regardless of that, our experience with this store goes back 10 years or more and it is run professionally and as clean as a pawn shop can get. Clerks are nicely attired and friendly. As a buyer, I have been able to negotiate some exceptional deals and always received just what I expected. Gold that we have pawned always came back perfect and untouched. A good store. read more

This review is about the online services. I had called on a saturday to see if a switch online was in stock and was in good condition. After getting the affirmation, with the item in my cart, I finished the purchasing of the item. 4 days later, I had received no word on shipping and called the store to see where it was. Turns out, somehow, in those two minutes it took me to place the online order, someone had came in and purchased it in store. I received an email of refund and that there was a problem 4 days later. That was 4 days I could have looked for an alternative, 4 days I could have tried to buy it elsewhere. Poor online to store service, though the people on the call helping me were very nice. Pawn America, fix your online services and online purchase notifications. 20 dollars isn't going to fix the fact that I now have to wait months for a brand new switch to come back into stock, much less a used one that I afford. read more

If you are selling an att iPhone , seriously consider this information. You must first have a receipt showing this phone was paid in full. You must try to get this receipt online/emailed From att or go to a local att store and ask them to call up your account and print a receipt. They did this. Then, pawn America says they need the SIM card from your phone to make sure that it works. When I explained that I had already reset to factory and the SIM card was rendered useless, I was told no problem we can just use the SIM card from your new six plus phone to do this. The local att store told me the SIM cards would not fit. Really, I just traded the phone back to att for a credit which was more than pawn America offered. read more
