I normally don't post things like this, but what happened to me at NSA Storage / SecurCare Self Storage in Conyers needs to be public. People deserve to know how this company treats customers -- especially customers going through the worst moments of their lives.
I was storing my sister's belongings there. She unexpectedly passed away on the evening of March 5, and I've been trying to handle everything while grieving. The last thing I needed was a storage company making things harder.
I went into the office IN PERSON to change my billing date from the 26th to the 1st. They told me the prorated charge would be $0.97, which I approved right then and there. Later, they claimed they "didn't have authorization," even though I gave it, and they NEVER told me the billing date wasn't changed.
I told the manager, Michael, on March 27 that I was moving out the next day and would have everything out by March 30. He knew exactly what I was dealing with. He knew these were my sister's things. He knew I was trying to close out her affairs. And he STILL didn't tell me the billing date change wasn't processed.
Instead, they charged me the full $23.05 instead of the $0.97 I had already approved.
So I called corporate, thinking surely someone would fix this obvious mistake.
I spoke with Arthur and Alexander, both "escalation supervisors." Not only did they refuse to correct the charge, but Arthur actually said to me:
"Sorry, mistakes happen."
Yes -- the company admitted THEY made the mistake...
...and then refused to fix it.
Who treats grieving customers like this?
Who acknowledges an error and then refuses to correct it?
