My experience with Freedom Service Dogs was incredibly disappointing and, at times, emotionally…read moredifficult. I entered the program seeking support for PTSD and expected a trauma-informed environment. Instead, I experienced situations that felt triggering and did not feel supported when challenges came up. The structure of the program felt rigid, and there did not seem to be enough flexibility for someone actively working through trauma. The hardest part was being awarded a service dog and then having it taken away. That was not only upsetting, but it also felt destabilizing after investing emotionally in the process. I believe organizations working with PTSD should prioritize understanding, flexibility, and meeting clients where they are. That was not my experience here. I would encourage others to ask very specific questions about how PTSD is supported before committing to this program.

Dahlia and I have been together for 7 yrs I could fill this page up with stories how Dahlia has…read morechanged my life for the better What a wonderful organization FSD is. Dahlia was rescued from a puppy mill found in Texas and brought to Co. Allison was Dahlia's trainer she did a fantastic job any time we're out and about I get comments how they can tell Dahlia is a "real" Service Dog she is skillfully trained when I needed help I got the support I needed from FSD. Brenna was and has been my best supporter and educator she's been with me from day one I couldn't have done it with out these two wonderful people to understand what a service dog is and how to live together as a team. Things change FSD has a puppy program now OMG they are so cute they don't use rescues as before they know these dogs from the time they're born. Dahlia is getting near retirement she has gray hair around her face so I'm doing the paperwork for a successor service dog and I'll adopt Dahlia so she can be a spoiled pet. If you're looking for a service dog look into FSD they are a wonderful organization.

Thank you for giving me a best friend to spoil for 9 years. I will always be grateful. The process…read moreof adopting him was straightforward and I could afford him as a broke college student. My family has adopted several dogs from DDFL and I appreciate what you do for these animals. I have always had good service from the actual adoption process to donating supplies.

You offer vaccine appointments... but they only exist as clinics that rotate to various locations,…read morerather than having a dedicated location to provide such services outside of a clinic. You then ask us to create an account and fill out personal and pet info for this vaccine clinic. Then we have to make an appointment and wait for someone on your staff to manually update the appointment and approve us, to then only send out an email that talks about all of the clinics happening....NOT related to our appointment and share all the other locations NOT related to our appointment. Then we find out that our appointment that YOU approved is not even an appointment at all, and it's a First Come, First Served run of show where you then state we should expect to wait 60-90 minutes to get some shots. I'm a huge animal advocate, but your approach to handling this is completely stupid and a waste of our time. Here's a crazy idea... how about you offer those clinics to those who want to show up and stand in line with their pets for 60-90 minutes, and maybe also have a dedicated location for those who book actual appointments to get vaccines.
