I bought a Blu-ray DVD from SecondSale that was pictured perfectly with no stickers. They ended up sending one with several library stickers all over the insert and disks, so you can't even just replace the case. I reached out to them, and they were difficult to deal with and were proud of the library stickers. Maybe it was an AI response, but it was from a self-proclaimed Customer Support Hero named Peter O. I will avoid buying from these guys, and I would suggest you do too unless you want some old, well-used items. read more

Disappointed. I got a small paperback listed as "Very Good". The book had underlining and writing on almost EVERY page, not even with pencil but with pen. On top of this, a person's name was written on the edges of the book's pages with a black sharpie. It's very disingenuous to mark this as "Very Good"; per their own website's descriptions of conditions, this should have been marked as "Well-Read", or maybe even "Good", but DEFINITELY not "Very Good". I just wasted my money!! Because the cost to ship this back to them is more than what I paid. I didn't even mention the outside condition of the book, which was HEAVILY creased front, back, and spine. But I could have overlooked that if the inside wasn't so rough. I'm still waiting on the 2nd book in my order, which I also bought as "Very Good". Let's pray that the condition isn't as bad as this one. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered six books from this company and while they all arrived in pretty much the condition I expected, the store made them worse. These were all paperbacks, and they bent one of the covers packing them into the envelope. Worse, they taped an ad into the inside cover of four of the books and when I removed the ad it tore the inside cover. Why would anyone tape something inside a book? Place it inside, that's fine, but tape it? How stupid do you have to be to do this? I will also notify Abebooks about this seller and recommend they remove them from their site. read more

Wow, I have to agree with all these other poor reviews of Secondsale. I was scammed by this company with a bait and switch. I ordered a book that was good/ to very good and was sent a book that had water damage, that was underlined, and a hard cover book where the back of the hardcover was actually ripped off and hanging. I ordered a book by Rudolf Steiner on mystical Christianity. They sent me Girl's Guide to Hunting & Fishing. I asked for a refund. They won't process the refund until I return the book they sent. Fair enough. But! They won't send me a return mailer. They want me to pay $10 to buy an envelope to ship back a $5 book. I've gone round and round with them every day for a week. Updated review to previous one. They finally got back to me after too much effort & running around trying to find service. They did correct the issue. Refund my purchase price not delivery. But the book was delivered so it's cool. It was damaged & they refunded me for that so it was better than trying to find drop off & wasting more money to send back. Better solution & would have been best to offer before making matters worse. Little advice for businesses; just get back to the customer & try to do the right thing. People understand things happen that aren't expected but it's how you handle it that will make or break your business. People want to know their business is appropriate, that you actually value your customer. DO NOT BUY BOOKS FROM THEM. I ordered a book through Abebooks. I did not receive the book I ordered. I received a different book. I requested a refund. I would have to send back the wrong book to get the refund (which is fine), but they did not give me return shipping to send them back the wrong book. If I didn't get paid for return shipping, because I paid a bit over $5 for the book, I would only get back about $1 with the refund because of the return shipping I would have to pay for. They also offered a 20% credit for my next purchase if I didn't send back the wrong book, which would also be about $1. Either way, I only get $1 back for their mistake. I know I'm writing this complaint over $1/$5, but it is the principle of the matter. They did not send me the book I paid for and when I ask for refund or paid for return shipping, this is what they offer. In an email, they eventually said they would refund me on 12Dec2024. It is now 27Dec2024 and still no refund. read more

I ordered a Taylot Swift Activity Coloring book for my special needs child and received a work manual for adults. Great. I sent many emails to their contact and two weeks later they reached out to me. they said they would take care of it and send me a return label. Haven't heard from them since. Didn't know a book company could be so cold. Brutal. So dishonest and for a child booklet. Evil. I should have known better. Don't do business online unless from Amazon , Walmart, or Ebay. I accidently purchased the wrong book. I requested it to be cancelled on the same day I placed the order. Actually, within the same hour. I requested on the order page AND sent a separate email to support through the customer portal. The only response I received was the next day and it simply said, "Order has been processed". I immediately replied to that email requesting clarification and if a refund has been processed. I never got a reply back but I did receive a "Customer Satisfaction" email that day as if the ticket had been closed. The following day I replied to the email again requesting confirmation that the order has been cancelled and a refund issued. No reply. A couple days later, I put in another message through the customer portal about this issue. No reply. And then two days after that, I received an email saying the order has been shipped. A couple days after that, I receive another Customer Satisfaction email. And now, days later, here I am with still no reply, no refund, and supposedly a book I don't want on the way :( read more

I just got a refund notice - because they don't actually have the book. Now I'm SCRAMBLING to find a book today and will have to pay expedited shipping so I get it this week AND I'll miss a couple of days of having a book. It has been over a month since I ordered my yoga books for teachers training. When I finally got them, they sent me 2 used and I paid for new, I bought 5 books and it says buy 3 you get one free-they charged me for all 5 books-no free one. 2 were new, and the last book never came. I drove out to Montgomery-over an hour to get compensated and get the book they never sent. They make you stand outside rather than in the waiting area and then I talked to a regional on the phone-their number is not listed and comes up unknown- who told me I would be paid back what was owed and I was out of luck with the book I never got. it has been a week, no compensation, no phone call, and now I am beyond mad! This is such an unprofessional company that lies to good people that trusted in their services. I will continue to drive there so I can get what is owed. Please do not order books from this company! They don't care that they screw up your order, what they send you, if they send you your books at all, take your money and do not pay you back for what is owed, lie and tell you that your messages and emails went to the UK, and why no one has responded. I bought a book for school from them and it was missing most of two chapters. Sadly, I did not look through the book before the 30 days of the refund period and they would not bend and replace the book. The chapters were not ripped out - it was clearly a printer error but they refused to either offer a refund or provide a new book. I would have gladly sent them to faulty book so they could take up the issue with the printer but their answer was a solid no. Very disappointed with the customer service. I changed my review because SecondSale did address my issue and took care of the problem. I'm giving them a good because they came through in the end but it shouldn't have been such an effort. read more
