Second Wind Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Plymouth, Massachusetts in May 2018. It was…read morefounded by homebrewing friends J.R. Shepard, Ken Semcken, and Hans Terbush. The three partners would spend weekends together homebrewing with friends and fine-tuning their beer. Terbush became a certified beer server and Semcken and Shepard passed the exam to become certified Cicerones (the beer equivalent of a wine sommelier). Eventually, they wanted to open their own brick & mortar brewery. Second Hand's small taproom and outdoor beer garden opened on Howland Street in 2018. The popularity of their beer soon took off, and in 2020 their 3 1/2-barrel system was upgraded to a 7-barrel system. An even larger secondary taproom with a full kitchen opened down the street at 11 Main Street in December 2025. While most of the brewing operations still continue at the original Howland Street location, customers can enjoy more space and a delicious menu of food curated by Chef Stephen Coe at the Main Street location. Coe is locally famous for his Lobsta Love food trucks and nationally known for his win against celebrity chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network's "Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay."  I recently visited both of Second Wind Brewing's locations while I was in Plymouth for the day. After checking out a couple of other breweries in town, I headed for the Howland Street taproom. Things are a little smaller here, but they offer a more intimate experience. The outdoor patio seating is a nice place to kick back on a warm weather day. I pulled up a seat at the bar and enjoyed a can pour of "Cent'anni" (Italian Pilsner), followed by a draught pour of "Four the Shore" [2026] (Session New England IPA). The pilsner was crisp and refreshing while the IPA was light with nice notes of citrus and tropical fruit. Afterwards, I made a short walk down the street to the larger taproom. It was much more spacious here and there were some flatsceen TVs playing sports games. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the food menu. I ordered the "Pork Belly & Mozzarella Arancini" (served with/ romesco, arugula & cheese sauce) and the "Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap" (Romaine Caesar dressing, blue cheese croutons) with "Sidewinder Fries". The food was excellent! Forty Second plays on the fact that the 42nd parallel runs straight through Kingston. In fact, there's even a marker celebrating this off of Landing Road, a short distance from Bay Farm. The owners of Forty Second Brew Co. have turned a run-down old restaurant space that had seen better days into a cool space of exposed brick, rough hewn boards, and delicious IPAs. If you're lucky, you'll be there when one of the patrons kicks a keg so you can see how they celebrate such milestones and commemorate them on social media. Update: By the time I made it there for my second visit within two weeks I got recognized for kicking a keg of their Three Sheets To the Wind IPA (6.9 ABV), I had the privilege of joining a winning trivia team, and celebrated the birthday of a new friend. We visited on 4th of July weekend, so the minimal parking next the brewery was totally full. Luckily, there's an overflow lot with a shuttle van about 5 minutes down the road. It was pretty tricky to find however, so be sure to ask the staff in the on-site parking lot for specific directions if you need to get there. They serve all the same great beer you expect from Tree House, plus they have a nice little cocktail bar outside, so there's something for everyone. I really liked the Cape Hound and the Rum Punch. They also have great pizzas and lobster rolls, which are a bit pricey but worth the splurge in my opinion. You can also pick up cans to go here, and because Tree House doesn't distribute otherwise, that's a huge win for any locals in the area. Great spot to visit on your trip to Cape Cod. We'll be back!

After 15 minutes of waiting in the booth, we called over who looked like an assistant manager and she advised the host didn't tell anyone we had been seated so, no one was assigned to our table and it would be a few minutes. So we wait - and two separate parties came in long after us, were seated and had service while we were STILL ignored. I'd hate to think your staff is discriminatory, but there was literally no reason for the absolute shabby treatment we received. We got up to leave and only then when we walked to the door did they CLEAR the table, which was laughable because we didn't even have water. I have been to your establishment in Providence and enjoyed myself but your Plymouth location is always mostly empty. You'd assume that would mean there's work to do and improvements to be made and here's a prime example.
