There are several "nicer" golf courses around Bellingham, but Raspberry Ridge is still our…read morefavorite. During the week you can usually walk on without a tee time, but always a good idea to call and check, just in case.
if you do have to wait, the cafe is nice and bright and you can grab a snack or a beer. We had breakfast there and it was really, really good. Well cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. Will try this again soon!
The course drains really well, so even during our rainy weather, you won't sink up to your ankles in muck, and it's easier to find your ball if it doesn't plug! The course is pretty open, but offers challenges of water, lots of trees, and a few sand traps. Plenty of challenge for us!
It's only a 9-hole loop, so we like to walk it and carry our bags. They do offer pull carts and riding carts if that is your thing.
Very casual environment, so don't worry if your plaid pants are at the cleaners - jeans are fine. No collar? no worry.
The pace of play is usually pretty good unless some jack-leg decides to bring a bunch of kids who like to do cartwheels on the greens and play with the golf carts.... that has only happened once, thankfully.
