I was here for both lunch and dinner today. For lunch I had the gumbo and salad combo for $15, and for dinner I had the jambalaya entree for $18. They were both good and both waitresses at lunch and dinner were very pleasant and efficient.

    Fettuccine huh? Absolute trash.

Got stuck eating here while staying at the hotel. Had the gumbo/jambalaya/red beans sampler. I intended on getting more but you'll understand why I didn't after this. The gumbo had me nearly getting tested for covid since it had zero flavor. The jambalaya would have been tolerable had it not been at least 3 days old based on the stale rice in it. The star of the show was definitely the red beans and rice which had been left out so long they had a crust across the top I had to break through. It took over 30 minutes to receive my food and 35 minutes for them to inform me they couldn't make the bourbon drink I ordered. This "meal" cost me $20 plus tip and should have had Joe Rogan offering me money to eat it.

Pumpkin sweet potatoe soup actually good very surprised, $7

For a restaurant inside of a Hotel, its not entirely terrible, but the prices are a bit redic for what they have. the menu is pretty basic, and flavors are bland. My friend got a cesar salad, okay $9 nothing special and added shrimp. Salad turned out to be about $20 after adding the shrimp and they werent all that. What saved my meal was the pumpkin butternut squash soup. I was pleasantly surprised by this. Also, my bread pudding was decent. The fried oyster tacos were not good at all. Over fried and the slaw didnt go well with them. Service was slow, we seated ourseleves and didnt have a waitress come over for at least 5 mins. Its clean, and has a full bar and plenty of TVS tho. I guess when youre staying in the hotel, this isnt a terrible option but i was not impressed.

Rice and beans with chicken instead of the sausage

Your stuck and a UBER ride to the city is $75... No other choice but the Hilton since that is where you are staying. Well I was pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. Lisa was my server and she went over and beyond. Unfortunately I don't eat pork or shrimp which almost 50% of the menu consisted of something with one or the other. She quickly said she could accommodate me as I was craving their red beans and rice with chicken instead of sausage. I also wanted some beets but did not want the huge portion of beet salad and she prepared a garden salad with beets in it. And to finish I had the bread pudding to go to. That was so delightful! Do not leave without trying that! Kudos to Lisa

    Crawfish étouffée was on point!

Crawfish étouffée was very delicious! I didn't expect so much for being inside a hotel (their restaurants tend to be iffy) but this one was great.

Fried Oyster Tacos. More of a meal than a starter... 3 per plate.

Just like Tim P. I went in with low expectations and was very pleased. The Gumbo was awesome and the Fried Oyster Tacos were right on point too. I was here doing off peak hours so the service was great. Only down side is it's in the Hilton. A hidden gem!!!

Loaded potato soup is on point!

This place is adequate, especially for the weary traveler. Nothing fancy, but decent food and friendly service.

This will be a lengthy review. Its been a long time since we've been here. Nothing really major ,…read moremade us not come back. Its just one of those things. We met a good friend of ours here for lunch. His wife and US, would regularly go n out to eat with each other. It was a normal routine. His wife passed away suddenly about 8 months ago and he hasnt gone anywhere that whole time. She was my best friend. It was a pleasant surprise, when he agreed to have lunch with us. We decided to go to Zea's on W. ESPLANADE. It was obvious they were busy as most of the lot was full. The first thing we noticed was the new interior renovations. It was definitely brighter and open since the last time we were here. We finally got sat at a table, wasnt a long wait. Our server, (young lady named Taylor) was our server. She was very friendly, inviting personality and made you feel welcomed. We started off with drinks and the Hummus appetizer. Never seen a big appetizer like this, it was perfect for 3 even 4 ppl and very good. It was served with warm pita slices. I remember they served cucumber slices upon request, not sure if they still do that. The lunch entrees were Almond chicken salad for my wife. Our friend ordered the Thai rib plate and I had the Crispy duck. As far as I know, my food was excellent, the duck was well cooked and moist. The Thai ribs are usually always good, no doubt that has changed, I stole one of my friends ribs. It went to good use. My wife said the main salad was good, but she feels the chicken itself lacked flavor, but since this is my review, only my opinion matters, lol. The Thai ribs were very good. I love the corn grits and the zea potatoes. For me, I feel this was my best meal I've had all year so far. Would I come back? Heck yeah. You buying? I overall, love the change. The new menu and decor is a hit for me.

However, the food was sub par for the price. The hummus and pita Appetizer was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed. We had the Honey Island Chicken which was good but not $17 good. It came with basic, undercooked and unsalted fries. The daughter had the Philly Steak Panini which didn't look appealing and she said it was overly full of mayo which is mixed in with the meat. Our granddaughter had the Balsamic Salmon which looked so pretty and was delicious but it was almost $30 and came with 2 basic sides. The hamburgers were cooked well but still only came with a basic side and the fries were awful. The atmosphere was okay but a bit dark. Thankful we had the gift certificate because we all decided this was a one and done!

You always…read moreremember your first and my first visit to a Shenanigans was in Sewanee, TN where unknown to me my pals Beanland were playing a gig much to my surprise! So I've returned many times to the Sewanee Shenanigans over the years while somehow missing the fact that there is also a Shenanigans in Metairie which I also learned offers a steak night. On further investigation I also learned they have live music on a pretty regular schedule so all that sounded like a real win to me! So I planned a time where I could combine steak night with some live music and I ended up having a fantastic time with both my steak and the live music for my first visit here. I made another return visit for more live music and sampled the burger which was also quite nice. I have returned for quite a number of visits at this point and have found this to be quite a pleasant place to pass a good time with good food, good times, good music and good people! If you happen to look on YouTube you might even find a video by NOLA Gent about this location as well!
