It's a large open space (think warehouse) with racks on racks on racks of items. Upon entry, I was immediately overwhelmed and considered leaving. I'm glad I pushed thru the desire to run away. To make it manageable for my brain, I decided to just tour the store to see what was in there and then lock in on one item (women's dresses and skirts) I would look through. I left with four unique clothing items for $18 and some change. Two of the items I purchased had blue price tags and blue was one of the colors of the day that was 50% off. However, I learned that if I shopped on a different day, the items with those color cards would've just been $.99 a piece, so I could've gotten out of there with the same items for even cheaper on the right day. Sort of like any store, at the checkout lane, there is shelving with small items you could grab. Many of those things were like party decorations that were unopened and brand new in the package.

As is the case of most thrift stores in today's economy the prices don't align with the items being used. In this case , the clothing items appear to be very worn. I only saw a few items that were in decent shape. However, the brands they carry just don't align with the price point. I would say if you are in the area, stop in, you may have better luck than I did!

I've never seen the lines get unbearably long like they can do at other stores. This store is on the smaller side, but it is nicely organized and I always find a few neat things. It has a large selection of books (my fave), and even though the clothing section isn't huge, the prices are a little less than some other places and I've seen some really nice brands (Anthro, J Brand Jeans, Athleta), mixed in. The clothing is organized by size--hallelujah! (Don't get me started on the places that organize by color.) I've seen some quality furniture and housewares as well as a bunch of randomness that would probably appeal to somebody out there. 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes I have trouble understanding their sales. They usually have a cart of free baked goods for customers. One time they were giving away frozen hams with your purchase!

I volunteered last summer. The first time I went, I read to some 3 and 4 year olds. I almost cried when one of the kids asked me if I lived in a house. When I said yes, her eyes lit up and she said, "Really? I want to live in one, too." If I could have put all of those kids and their families into an apartment that day, I would have. Our House always needs volunteers AND donations, so help them out however you can.

Well not only did she listen to the stories about my mom, and helped me asses the value of the ring and gold she had but she helped me design an amazingly beautiful pendant to remember my mom using her engagement ring and we talked about what her life meant to me. I ended up with a compass pendant since mom was my guide and I became hers later in life. Laura even suggested using her diamonds to face east to west for her sunrise and sunset. With a special inscription on the back. I am in awe of the work they do at Worthmore and I recommend them anyone who needs a special piece of jewelry commissioned or is just looking for someone to take you under their wing and talk wedding rings and jewelry to you. Laura is very informative she also helped us insure our precious pieces which came in handy when I lost the diamond from my wedding ring in a freak accident! TLDR: I would not hire this company. Not only am I very disappointed with the diagnosis process and…read morethe repair that did not address the issue that I called them for but also with the failure of their management to address my concerns. I called Plumbing Express to investigate and resolve a water leak in my kitchen ceiling. The leak was directly below my master bathroom toilet, which my sister and I had already narrowed down by tapping on the kitchen ceiling downstairs while listening upstairs, where the sound was clearly strongest near the master bathroom toilet. The technician briefly inspected both bathrooms but focused on my sister's bathroom on the opposite side of the house after noticing a damp sponge under the toilet tank. My sister explained the sponge was there because she sprays and cleans the toilet regularly, not because of a leak. The plumber then cut open the kitchen ceiling drywall, stated the leak was coming from the water supply line from my sister's toilet, and performed a complete toilet tank rebuild for $450. After the repair, he gave me a card for a company that performs restorations and recommended I call them to inspect for subfloor damage. When that restoration company arrived, they immediately stated there was no way the ceiling leak could have originated from the secondary bathroom because of the location and no evidence of water stains. They recommended another plumber and a leak detection company come out to find the leak before they performed any work. I contacted a second plumber, who agreed the leak was much more likely connected to the master bathroom toilet directly above the leak area. Finally, I hired a leak detection company, and they also confirmed the leak aligned with the master bathroom location, not the secondary bathroom Plumbing Express repaired. At this point, three separate professionals have stated the leak could not have originated from the bathroom Plumbing Express serviced. I paid $450 for a repair that did not address the actual problem I originally called about. In Response to Ty G: Your response is totally incorrect. I would not have called the second plumber and the leak detection company if your recommended restoration company had not told me that the leak was not identified. The pictures taken are of the secondary bathroom not the master as we discussed in our phone call. It is totally "disingenuous" for you to now state that the master toilet was the issue. This validates everything I thought about your company. Others beware!

Great selection but the store diva's attitude can make your shopping experience horrific! I had a horrible experience when the snobby boy behind the counter copped an attitude with me because he was too lazy to wrap GLASS ornaments in paper so they wouldn't break! He placed all three glass ornaments in a paper bag together with nothing between them. I told him they would be lucky to make it home in one piece without wrapping and he told me not to "pop any wheelies on the way home"! He then accused me of having an attitude because I didn't ask him politely to wrap them. At that point I asked to speak to his manager and he told me I was in the way and to get away from his counter! I spoke to both the manager and the owner who both apologized to me but it appeared obvious they weren't going to do anything about the clerk who was so incredibly rude to me. If they had asked him to apologize to me, I wouldn't be writing this review right now. I got the impression that this was not the first time they had complaints about that particular employee. I chose not to spend my money with them because of the poor customer service and I highly doubt if I will ever spend a dime in their store again. I own a rescued dog and love to support businesses that help save animals. I'll happily spend my money exclusively at Fur Kids from now on! One final note about my experience today is that when I left Second Life I ran into 3 different people who witnessed what had happened in the store and they ALL said Second Life had the worst attitudes and customer service of any thrift store in the city of Atlanta. I have to agree and will avoid this thrift store like the plague until they seriously consider removing that nasty little diva boy from behind the counter! read more

As a dog lover and some one who thinks animal rescue is important I wanted to support this thrift store in Avondale when I recently saw them advertised on Facebook. How did I miss this place before? There's actually two stores, one for furniture and one for clothing and a whole lot of every thing. I love how organized things are. I talked to two people who worked here and one older woman was really friendly and one african american man was not as nice. Maybe I was taking too long but he kept giving me the side eye and acted like I was bothering him by asking to see things but I had to ask since they were in a case. I did buy a necklace. I might have bought two if he wasn't rushing me. That was the only uncomfortable thing. I bought some bowls and leashes for my dogs that were great quality and so inexpensive and a rug that was like new and a beautiful silver necklace that I gave my sister as a gift and only spent $18 on every thing! read more

Dollar for dollar the best thrift store merchandise and pricing I've found in or near Atlanta. All thrift stores usually have something going for them (thrifting is awesome) but Second Life has a LOT going for them. Two stores next to each other, really nice owners and staff, great selection, easy parking. Plus they donate a lot of money to local animal rescues. Pet friendly if you want to bring your dog to shop with you. They allowed leashed pets. read more
