Of the 3 or 4 thrift/consignment shops I went to in the area today, this was my favorite. There were 2 floors of items and a large variety of everything. Everything was clearly labeled and priced, and there were several signs in the store that told you the color coded discounts. I spent $100 on 3 Dooney & Burke bags for my daughter. They were 25%, 50%, and 75% off respectively. She will be thrilled. I would definitely return. read more

I never went. I called to make an appointment for consignment on Aug 20 and was told that they were booked until February!! I won't deal with them again. I found 2 other places that were happy to receive my belongings. Many of which were high end with tags still on them. read more

Second Hand Rose is my favorite consignment shop. It is always clean and smells good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I bought 5 pairs of jeans there today with brands like Micheal Kors , Talbots , and Vintage with some face cleaner and blemish eraser all for 80.00. Such a bargin. Another customer today bought a Douney and Brooke purse for 30.00. I highly recommend this shop. Great value and prices. read more

Great shop but a bit on the expensive side. You can find really neat pieces but if you don't grab them quick, they will sell fast.

From a consignor point of view, save yourself the time and just donate your stuff. I got basically nothing for a load of Anthropologie, Free People and Banana Republic clothing and vintage housewares. Prices are reduced the longer the items are there, and I think most of their customers are scavengers who shop on the cheap days and basically get stuff for nothing. They also charge an "Administrative Fee" which is ridiculous in my opinion. read more

Very nice second hand store - nicely organized and variety of things to choose. The household items are pricey but good quality.

SECOND HAND ROSE CONSIGNMENT KENT ISLAND CHESTER, MD Rose and her team are amazing, professional, knowledgable, and friendly. They merchandise beautifully their displays of high end tabletop / dining ware / serving pieces / artisan studio ceramics / pottery - not a "jumbled mess" (as in other places). Their wares are thoughtfully curated and in superb condition! Huge selection of Waterford crystal and expensive ceramics from some great, large estates. Nice art selection includes some original works and limited edition artworks. Extensive handbag and jewelry selection. Better clothing brands - ladies, only, are displayed on second level. Come often - they sell super fine items have a huge, loyal following of shoppers and pickers. This establishment is neat, clean, thoughtfully run business with great selection and prices! Rose is terrific and it's nice store but the woman who does the pricing is awful. Unfriendly and has a major attitude. She acts like she hates her job and is unprofessional always. She detracts from the business. read more

This place has a lot of good bargains but you have to be in the mood to look for them. They do a pretty good job keeping things organized and the store is clean and staff is friendly. The first floor has mostly home goods, a small pet supplies section, jewelry and accessories, and a high end purse and jeans section. The name brand stuff is priced pretty high considering it is used and some stuff isn't in good condition. Don't forget to look upstairs where all the clothing is! Unfortunately no men's or kid's clothing, but a huge selection of women's and junior's clothing of all sizes. The shoe section is small and seems to be mostly size 8 and up. The tags are color coded to indicate extra discounts. Keep an eye out for the gray ones (80% off!). read more

We were drifting thru consignment shops in the Kent Island area and were referred by MELANIE, another consignment shop owner. We showed up with excitement and anticipation. The store was supposed to CLOSE at 5:00 and luckily it was only 4:35. . .plenty of time to shop! Yippee! We parked and much to our dismay the owners were "sneaking" out the back door. We pulled up to tell them we wanted to spend $$$$ in their store. All she could say was, sorry, we're closing early. No flexibility with her, just a bad attitude. Too bad, so sad! I can't believe that biz owners would close prematurely before their posted hours with customers there. read more

Love this store. It is established in its location, is clean and well laid out. The people are friendly and helpful, all clothing is clean and sorted by size. I always stop here during my travels and there is always something that I find that is useful and in good condition. This is not a 'thrift shop', it is a consignment shop that is aware of its contents and makes sure they are clean and well presented. I love thrift shops but know the difference. You won't be sorry you stopped in for a look-see. read more
