There are lots of gifty stores on the main drag, N. Talbot Street, in Saint Michael's but I think this is one of the best! I particularly enjoyed looking at the kids section including the various stuffed animals, toys and games. I couldn't help myself from flipping through some of the Priscilla Cummings books as I remember when she visited my school as a kid. I've been a fan of Chadwick the Crab ever since! I also liked looking at the various products from the J.O. Spice Company. I come from a family of commercial crabbers and this might come as a shock to some but JO, not Old Bay, is our preferred crab seasoning. But J.O. isn't just for crabs and they offer spice blends and other stuff like chicken rubs, crab cake mixes and steamed shrimp seasoning. Aside from the above, I also enjoyed looking at cards, soaps, Scout bags, novelty salt and pepper shakers and such. The employee, perhaps the owner, was friendly and welcoming as most people are in this quaint town nestled along side the Miles River. This was definitely a fun stop!

This place is setup in the typical "vendor stall" setup that's common with antique multi-stores where each little booth is a separate seller. Overall it provides a better experience for the customer with a plethora of different vendors and things to peruse. Sometimes these larger malls are a little bit cumbersome to navigate and I find myself thinking "oh crap, have I done this room yet?" but Antique Alley was kind enough to have arrows on the floor to direct you through their space, to make sure that you were able to see everything and not have to double back.

It is so cute and cozy inside! They have a good combo of bigger pieces of furniture as well as smaller home decor items. I bought a burlap pillow and an antique salt cellar... And I have my eye on a shabby chic rocker that I hope to buy in the near future. They have some cute things, but the store is very small and cramped, with barely enough room to walk through. There are more items outside on a porch, but again it's kind of hard to move around to get out there and see everything. The young lady working in the shop was too busy talking on her cell phone to acknowledge me until I came to the register with a picture I wanted to buy. At this point, she says "You do know we only take cash or checks, right?" Really? This is 2012, what legitimate business doesn't accept credit cards? I mean seriously.....you can get a Square-Up card reader for FREE and run them right from your phone! I can't tell you the last time I wrote a check, don't even think I have any, and I never carry cash (as many people don't), so this store just lost not only this sale but any future sales they may have made with me.
