You know what you're going to get when you walk into a Second Cup, but as a patron of coffee shops who frequently has his Macbook in hand, there's often more to enjoying a good coffee then the coffee itself. More and more I find myself frustrated at the layout of coffee shops that offer patrons free wifi. Yes, I appreciate being able to connect without paying anything. No, I don't enjoy having to stand holding my Macbook in one hand, my coffee in another, while someone tries to squeeze their chair next to me simply to sit next to one of two electrical outlets in the entire joint. And yes, every now and then being able to find a seat at some of these coffee shops would be a welcome sight at times. Considering I usually find myself needing to 'plug-in', the layout, amount of seats, and necessity of an electrical outlet is a must when going out for a Cuppa-Joe. Refreshingly, the Second Cup in Westdale not only offers some good java, but they've got a large welcoming layout that ensures when you're having your coffee other patrons aren't on top of you throwing their power cord over you as they make a last ditch effort to save their laptop from dying. The mood at Second Cup is warm and appealing to enjoy a coffee, read a book, or stretch your legs and get some work done on your laptop.......with a full battery, of course!

    Lots of seating space

I've been to this Second Cup many times to get some work done. The food and drink is similar to other locations. I'm a fan of their coffee. There's a lot of seating place at this location and lots of outlets around. The atmosphere is also very cozy. It can get crowded though with students from Mac and Westdale.

My oatmeal power bowl was delicious- be aware you cannot modify and ask for raisins to be left out, but I ate them anyway! My mom loved her avocado toast and said it had a little kick to it. We both enjoyed our coffee and thought everyone was incredibly kind. Too bad we are 8 hours away, but if I find myself in the area, I will stop in again.

You enter in to see clean, modern aesthetic cafe vibes and a rack of freshly baked sourdough from Dear Grain. The cafe connects to its outdoor seating area and feels a bit like a secret garden. There's a variety of baked goods, food, and drinks to choose from. Their espresso tends to be on the mellower side - I think it's a medium body, mild & balanced, and pairs well with milk. If you're into pour overs, Detour has an incredible selection of their own coffee bean roasts. Not a coffee fan? No problem. I also recommend this spot to pick up the best artisan style sourdough I've had in this area (if you're not close to Dear Grain Commissary in downtown Hamilton). Crunchy crust and the softest sourdough inside. Perfect for a fancy sandwich or to add to a charcuterie board! You won't regret it.

A cute little cafe that sells cakes and little pastries like cream puffs and little cakes and tarts. The vibe in here is great. Honestly 'cute' is the perfect way to describe the interior. I ordered the puffs. The person at the counter said their most popular are the sea salt oreya, matcha and ube. I obviously had to try them all (I shared with my family). I also ordered the salted caramel one (I think). All the puffs were delicious. The cream inside is really good. Had good flavour and did not disappoint. Each puff was $5. Would go back next time I'm in Hamilton!

I saw one, but didn't want to assume that it was theirs as it's not directly attached! Although small, it seemed like a busy spot as there were a coupla patrons in front and someone waiting behind me. On the main floor, it was standing room only. The pastries they sell are cream puffs, cheesecakes, and tarts. They also carry some mochi donuts from their sister location, Momoco. I got a cream puff, matcha donut, & a Vietnamese latté. Everything was really good, not too sweet at all...which is why I like Asian bakeries! Each pastries was ~$5ea, if you get 6 items, there is no tax! I strongly recommend the Vietnamese latté, it was slightly sweet and very smooth. Girl working behind the counter seemed laidback and patient. The only reason why I can't really give Mysweetooth a full 5* was due to the parking sitch and the fact that the upstairs seating area was closed for no reason. It would've been nice to sit and enjoy my desserts...not in my car!

There is a window where you order and pickup your food, so patrons can be outdoors the whole time. Everything was clean and sanitized. We felt comfortable everyone was wearing masks, unless seated, and socially distancing. There was a large bowl with ice for the dogs to share. Our dog was comfortable and happy which made our whole experience relaxing and easy. My husband and I split a salad, panini, apple cider donut, and blueberry loaf. We especially loved the sandwich, chips and sweets. Our dog loved his dog donut today, as well as the pupsicle and pupcake he got to sample a Locke St fair a few weeks ago. So nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy snacks together. I came here a few years ago with a friend and her dog, and it was a similarly great experience. We had a nice dining experience on the patio. In pre-pandemic times you could be indoors and outdoors with your dog. There was a separated place indoors where you ordered food that dogs were not allowed. All of the indoor and outdoor dogs seemed to be relaxed and happy to be there with one another, it was a lovely caring vibe. Looking forward to our next visit!

Brick walls and wooden flooring give a nice homey feel. I noticed a lot of the shops on the same street are homes turned into shops, and this seems to be the case for the dog cafe as well. The service was suuuper friendly, I had some questions about the dog treats and they were happy to answer. It's also very clear they adore dogs - they came to take a picture of my friend's dog to put on the wall and give her some pets :D The dog treats are also good for humans to eat, and they taste quite alright. It just lacks sugar :P. But perfect for your dog! The butter cookies were delicious! Will recommend you to visit if you love dogs and nice treats - both for your dog and yourself!
