That room would be better utilized as the men's or children's area. Instead I've heard people on their cell phones taking up space and being noisy. Not sure how this benefits the store. I do like the entrance. They need more tables or displays. The glass case used to hold jewelry, now they put out-dated things like a Christmas Village (during Christmas). It makes it look like they don't have ANY quality items. They have never really had quality clothing and whomever is sorting needs to keep more modern clothing. The ones out there are so out-dated, and very worn. Including the shoes, hats, etc. I am glad they lowered their prices. They used to be too high. Although, I don't like no knowing what things cost. I know they are trying to fix this. The staff seems a bit scattered right now. Customer service is so important. It would be nice if they would be more "present."

Hidden Gem of the Rockies…read more I love thrift stores, I love flea markets, and I love garage sales. While dining in Idaho Springs this past weekend I passed a sign that said "Thrift Shoppe". Thankfully I was able to convince my travel companion to give me "5 minutes" (really means 20 minutes) to run into this store while he warmed up the car for our trek back to Boulder. I entered the building and was immediately greeted by a shopping cart of free books. This I took as a great sign of what was to come. I followed the signage which directed me to the basement where the actual thrift store is held. I descended the stairs and was greeted by sporting goods and books. As I continued the store opened up to a large room with clothing, home goods, kitchenware, and various home accessories. With a daily special of "50% off" off I was sure to find a little something to go home with. As I was in a time crunch I quickly perused the kitchenware and noted various "sets" of good looking dishes and glassware, the outerwear was section was not as large as I'd expected but had coats and ski pants in good condition. I settled on a flapper inspired printed scarf and at just over $1 returned to the car happily with my find. I definitely plan to drop into the Thrift Shoppe the next time I am in Idaho Springs.

The staff was so nice and friendly. Such a hidden gem!

We came here with no expectations just browsing. It was a bit pricey for what they were offering. There was a full room of men's and women's clothing another one filled with toys, appliances and other random items. Then we went into another room that had what they considered higher end items some jewelry, name brand clothes and games. I actually found something that I didn't know that I needed. I found a nice backgammon game which I bought right away. This was definitely an interesting place to visit.

We visited several times over the past year and many things were still the same on the shelf. That is the reason they frequently turn down donations since they just don't have space for them. It was super snowy out and I noted there were no donations left at the door. There was also a sign that said to knock (as the doorbell is out of order) to ensure that you leave your donations with a staff member. No prob! A few knocks later a nice woman came out to retrieve my donation and offer me a receipt. And off I was to my next errand. On other occasions I've perused their aisles for nearly an hour. There is truly a lot to look at. I picked up a stellar pair of like new Levi's jeans (for only $8) and am now a huge Levi's fan. During Halloween and Christmas their offerings are unmatched. They do a stellar job of putting everything out neatly and at fair prices. They also have events from time to time, one of which I won two $5 vouchers (they are so cute and have prarie dogs on them!). Excite to make another donation soon. Three cheers for spring cleaning!

They have a lot of items which are also good for gifts as they are in good condition. I have friends who prefer recycling and not contributing to the amount of items in the world.

Forget about Goodwill.... THIS is the place to bring your gently used items. Books, clothing,…read moreglassware, vintage, records/cd/vhs/blu-ray, and many other categories. They are amazingly well organized with all items nicely displayed and clothing items are clean and hanging up. For donations check hours they accept items. For high-value items, they put on eBay to sell to get proceeds. And the proceeds go to help the food bank next door.
