While on vacation my mother and I always like to do a yarn and quilt shop crawl. We had a fantastic time! What a gem of a shop!!!!

What a quaint and cozy yarn shop. Upon walking inside it's a comforting feel. It's clean. The owner was friendly and helpful. The store was nicely merchandised. Good yarn selection. The samples were made well. It was a lovely store to walk around. I did see some yarns that not all stores have. That's always a treat. There was a small selection of spinning fiber. A nice area of notions were available. Overall, this store has it all--inviting atmosphere as well as beautiful yarns and handy notions. read more

I absolutely love this shop. I saw a post on Pinterest that mentioned buying yarn here. As luck would have it we were in the area and stopped by. The shop is in an adorable historic Georgetown house. Ruth the owner is so kind and helpful. I could have spent all day chatting with Ruth or sitting on the cozy patio. I wish I lived nearby so I could visit more often. My husband and I were recently in CO for a weekend getaway and decided to stop by this little shop! I am an avid knitter and wanted some souvenirs. Ruth the owner was so sweet and welcoming! She answered any questions we had and offered to ball my yarn for me while I shopped. We left so excited with our finds. A few days later I decided I wanted to go back and buy a needle set. It was around 4:30pm and we had around a 20 minute drive before we would be there. I called the shop and told her who I was and asked if she would still be there around 4:50pm or if she was closing early for some reason. She remembered me right away and told me to come on and that she would stay open until we got there. She ended up bringing out some new sets she hadn't put out yet for me to look at as well! We had such a wonderful experience both visits on this trip and will definitely return if we are ever in the area again! read more

On a whim my husband and I went to the Christmas festival in Georgetown this weekend, expecting to find some frivolity and a change of pace from the city life. Little did we know that we'd stumble upon such a wonderful shop! On our way back to the car he pointed out the sign, and said "is that a knitting store?". He knew what he was getting himself into, but I don't think he expected what we found! Ruth, the owner, is the nicest owner of a yarn shop that I've ever met. I believe it was her cousin who welcomed us into the store. She also was unbelievably sweet and welcoming, and chatted with me about yarn and was excited because I was excited! Both women were very happy to chat about yarns, patterns, and helped me find something within my budget that would help feed the monster that is my knitting habit. I wish so much that I lived closer to Georgetown, because I'd never set foot in a commercial craft store again. The Quilted Purl is all that I'd ever need...although I would probably need a second job to afford it, it would be completely worth it! read more

My 81 year old mom traveled to Colorado to visit me, and I wanted to stop in Georgetown when we took a drive up into the mountains. I've lived in Colorado for 10 years but haven't ever been to Georgetown, despite being a huge fan of Sandra Dallas! We saw the display for the Quilted Purl at the visitor's center, and knew we HAD to go. Mom knits and weaves, I sew and am a would-be spinner, what's not to love about a place that sells fabric, fiber, and all kinds of notions and decorative items? The proprietress was so very very helpful, and spent a lot of time talking to us about everything, and of course we spent $$ there! Just so glad that we found it, and it was worth the two block walk from the "main drag" to get there. I will be visiting again next time I'm up that way! read more

This is a charming and selectively stocked with yarns one doesn't see ever day. The owner, Ruth, was very accommodating by coming in early for us. There are beautiful samples around the shop. I say it should be a definite stop for anyone who loves fabulous, high quality luxury yarn. read more

I hate giving a bad review as I love going to quilt shops wherever I go. If you are visiting from out of town be sure to call before you take the time to head out here. I tried to visit on a trip to Breckenridge but the shop's hours on yelp did not match their posted hours on the door for a Sunday. Yelp says 10am-4:30pm but on the door, they open at noon on Sundays. It was 11am so we decided to eat and wait the hour. At noon the shop was still not open. After a bit, we talked to the lady in the shop next door and it turned out that no one would come until 1pm. We had to be back in Denver for our flight out and couldn't wait until then. Had there been a sign, we could have left at 11am and I could have visited a different quilt shop in Denver before our flight out. Georgetown, itself, was a nice quaint little town. It's very picturesque and reminded me and my friends of a movie set. read more

Stocked with a small supply of traditional fabrics. No modern fabric. Moda seems to be the main fabric brand. Did not look at the selection of yarns. Found a couple of fat quarter blender fabrics that suited my purpose and a small spool of thread. Cute shop, since it's small, there's not much selection. read more

Saw a small kiosk displaying an advertisement for this quaint little shop, at the Visitor Center leading into town - glad I did! Tucked away on the corner of the main drag, this quilt/knit shop has something for everyone who loves the fiber arts. The shop owner has it right - couldn't have been any more pleasant or helpful! THIS is how a shop should be run - beautiful fabrics, including items specific to the state of Colorado. Gorgeous yarns - I didn't get out of here without something from each category! I was so excited to see this little shop tucked away around the corner of the main street in Georgetown, where so many of the shops are so touristy. As an aspiring knitting fanatic, I feel inclined to go into every single yarn shop I come across, and often times i find myself leaving feeling like because I am not an expert knitter at this point, that my business is somehow less desired. Not here! I had the most WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE in this shop. The lady who assisted me was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and really went above and beyond to help me, even showing me a few new techniques that I didnt know but were required to make a headband I was interested in knitting. NOT ONLY that ,but they carry beautiful yarns ( and fabrics for all you sewers/quilters out there!) AND REALLY REALLY affordable prices. I got a (pre rolled) cake of american wool yarn and FOUR (yes, four) patterns for under $15. WHAT?!?! I know, it was very exciting. I have already knitted with the yarn and it was a delight, great quality. I will definitely be back, This shop alone makes the hour drive from denver worth while! read more

This is one of THOSE shops where the more you look the more you find. Not far down a side street, easily visible from Main street. Open the door, take a tall step up, and you could spend hours just looking at everything. Beautiful wall hangings, lovely fabric, gorgeous yarns, shiny beads, darling knick knacks. It was pure bliss!
