Visited with a group of friends this weekend and we ordered the cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, and the meat special all on the gluten free rice crust. The three smalls were plenty for the five of us, and the crust was fantastic. It was nice and thick and had great texture. I was recommended this pizza place by a lady who used to live in Sandpoint. We were on vacation, staying in a Condo at Schweitzer. My brother drove down the mountain, to pick up the pizza. We ordered three large pizzas for our party of ten and that way way too much food! The pizzas are so huge that my sister in law had a hard time carrying all three pizzas up the stairs! I come home to Idaho and demand to visit this place! We drive an hour just to eat here. Love the breadsticks- loaded with cheese and garlic. Great veggie and meat options. Lots of toppings, thicker crust, and hearty bites. Love the ranch dressing from the nearby Litehouse place. Definitely go early in the day as it gets busy. Good to-go and reheated in the oven. We came up from California (don't hold that against me please) and gave Second Avenue Pizza a try. The side salad was very impressive and the Hawaiian Pizza was amazing. We didnt think the pizza was enough when placing the order so we also ordered the calzone. That was a mistake. The pizza filled us up and when the calzone came out, which also was also fantastic, we were stuffed. Great food and great service. read more

Looking at other reviews before we went I expected an hour wait but a great pizza; apparently our timing was bad (Saturday 4:55 pm). It took an hour and 40 minutes to get a pizza (The "Jukebox") that was charred to a crisp. We ended up scraping off the topping to salvage something of it (we were starving by the time it came). No wait staff, have to stand in long main cashier ordering line to order a second beer or even water. I ended up using the faucet in the men's bathroom to refill my water! This place is a disaster that I will avoid in the future at all cost... I am happy about the other reviews that are positive but mystified as to how their experience differed so radically from the majority of my fellow diners this evening; there was a lot of obvious frustration and ours wasn't the only burned pizza after a ridiculous wait. read more

Nice staff and decent prices so I was happy to try this place but I was disappointed in the pizza. The cheese is not stringy and pulls like other pizzas. It looked like it needed to be microwaved for the cheese to melt. We ordered a classic regular pepperoni, really large tasty pepperoni slices and a gf pizza. Good Gf crusts are hard to find. We were recommended this place by 2 different people, so our expectations were high. We ordered wings, calzone and 2 salads for delivery. The wings were large drumsticks and a bit disappointing for my son who fancies himself an aficionado. The salads were just OK. The calzone was a chicken, mushroom and onions. High prices and super slow service! 2 small pizzas took over an hour to get. Pizzas ordered after ours were coming out before ours. When we came in, there were only a couple people there, and they were already eating. It's not like they were busy! Did they check in with us? As I was walking down the street on one of my many ventures I stumbled across this delicate yet effervescent eatery. So I walked in and ordered a calzone and a beer. After I sat down I took a sip of my beer which was so cold it literally made my member shrink. But luckily soon after they brought out the hot calzone. As I bit into the piping hot assortment of meat cheese and love I could feel my boys going back to their original shape and size. For that I am grateful. The food is delightful. It was good and prices were good. Service was just ok- overall just not all it's hyped up to be. I think they're slightly better to look at than to eat. Because they are piled high with toppings and it's a big huge thick crust they look impressive but taste wise nothing really jumped out at me. The Hot legs weren't good. Definitely Not a family place even though it is not high class at all. The owner does Not welcome children. If your kids laugh or have fun, you may get a visit from the owner asking you to keep the kids quiet. Also, the type of people that frequent the place may surprise you by their lack of self control. When a fight breaks out in the middle of the restaurant, in front of children, it's a sure sign that it's not the type of place that is appropriate for families. We love pizza. Not only is it the first true deep dish pizza we have found in Sandpoint. Bold flavor and incredible service.

We've been eating here for decades. The pizza is always fantastic. The service is always friendly and helpful. The pizzas are huge. Where my husband and I can easily devour a large from Domino's and still be hungry, two pieces from a large Juke Box Special fills us both up. My favorites are the Schweitzer Ski Flake, Carolyn's Special, and the Mexican pizza. They're unique and delicious. Depending on when you go, the wait can be long, but it's worth it. Just drink some beer or wine while you wait. :-) If you're having pizza delivered, again, plan ahead because it can be a long wait. Sometimes, the middle can be soggy on delivered pizzas, but I've never had a soggy pizza in the restaurant. The crust is thick, so if you don't love thick crust pizza, this may not be the place for you, but the crust is tasty and not doughy at all. They have the best gluten free pizza crust I have ever tasted, too! I can't recommend this place highly enough! read more
