The hotel was about 8-10 minutes away from the ice rink, so the location was convenient. There were many restaurants and stores nearby. The staff was friendly and polite. Because it's a new hotel, everything seemed sparklingly clean and nice. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed. There was also a full kitchen in the room. The breakfast was complimentary and was continental style. Not too many choices, but good enough for a full breakfast. Because there were many teams staying when we were there, they scheduled teams at different breakfast time, which worked out well. I couldn't think of anything negative about this hotel. It was a very pleasant stay. I would love to stay again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We came to stay here with 3 other hockey teams. Management kept telling each team that we were the…read moreonly team, and the parents and kids were rude to staff. Three of our boys were walking down the hall at 9:15 pm to the lobby, where the parents were hanging out, and the three boys were told they arent allowed in the halls because 9pm is quiet time. Meanwhile, the hotel staff was vacuuming the halls and bumping into doors, being much louder than our three kids who were playing games on their phones, while walking quietly to see us. The hotel also offers fresh baked cookies to guests but failed to mention they contain nuts. So one of our hockey moms, ended up in an ambulance, and taken to emergency because she was having a severe allergic reaction. When we notified the staff, they said "most people wouldn't just eat a cookie without asking if it had nuts." The maintenance guy yelled at a three year old in the hallway for running. Yes, a three year old. The poor child was very frightened and ended their night in tears. Now, the worst part is, our team was in the outdoor half of the pool, and one of our coaches stepped on glass from the lighting above the pool (he was in the inside half of the pool). He picked up as much of the glass as he could find and gave it to the front desk. Thats where they decided to accuse us of breaking the light and ruining the pool for everyone else (to which we heard the manager tell other guests it was our fault). Hello, we just saved them from a potentially costly lawsuit if anyone got hurt. The manager and other staff, sat in the office watching video footage to try to blame us for the broken glass. Any time they saw a child in the hallway, the manager would send the maintenance guy to tell them to be quiet and get back in their rooms while she continued to watch the surveillance videos. Our whole team and another team, canceled our next night because of how rude the hotel staff was. That resulted in over $4000 in lost accommodations from our team alone. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone, especially a team of any kind, as hotel staff do not want children in the hotel. Oh, and some lady complained at 8pm that our kids were too loud, watching TV in the room next to hers, so the hotel told this lady and our coach that we would be responsible for paying for her stay. Obviously we fought that nonsense and refused to pay her bill. This hotel would be nice if they changed every member of their staff and management (except for the one blonde lady at the front desk). I highly urge anyone planning to stay here, to look elsewhere. You'd be better off sleeping in your vehicle than this hotel.

We booked a room here for a short 3 night stay and were excited to find an internet rate of $71 a night plus tax. When I arrived, I was amazed at what such a low price can get you in Summerland!! I know it's not their peak season, but wow! Our room was ready when we arrived and we were excited to find an incredibly comfortable Queen sized bed, a full kitchen with stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and a big bath tub in the very modern and pretty bathroom. The room was small and a bit cramped, but that's mainly because they try and fit so much into a small space. Our room had a gas fireplace, TV, table and chairs, full kitchen, large armoire, full bathroom, and even a balcony with chairs and table. Everything felt new, fresh and clean. Some family members stayed in the two bedroom suite which had a partial lake view. They were supposed to be in the full lake front view two bedroom suite, but the hotel messed up. We had told them that we had 3 people over the age of 85 who would be sharing a suite. When we got there, they had put us in a suite with a great view, but it had stairs to a loft and the other bedroom was a Murphy bed that you had to move a 6 person table to access. Obviously that isn't going to work for our seniors. We were quite annoyed, but the new room was nice. It wasn't quite what we had asked for, but it was very nice. The full kitchens are really convenient, especially if you are staying a while. The bath tub had very high sides, and it could have used a safety bar or handicap bar to help you in and out. I'm only 36 and of average height, but the tub sides were really high for me and when you are wet, you could slip. They have free WiFi throughout the property, just ask for the pass code when you arrive and it's the same for every hot spot. Overall, the hotel is beautiful. You are steps away from the lake, minutes from downtown Summerland and the surrounding wineries. Penticton is a short drive away and I can't imagine there is anywhere nicer in the area.

She was not interested in doing her job well. She flicked some paper we had on the side of our table as she walked by. My friend and I both looked at each other and said did she just do that. When asked to bring a take home box without looking at what was on my plate she brought me the smallest box she had. I said to her I need a bigger box, and in her disdain she said I will bring you a bigger one. Her level of disinterest in serving our table, her looking down her nose at us was just beyond. I will go back but absolutely not with her as my wait staff.

The room was simple and clean and a great value. The AC was nice after very warm days in the sun. We ate at the pub/restaurant a couple of times and the food and service were both fantastic. My favourite menu item I tried was the Steak Sandwich. It was cooked to my liking and came with onion rings on top! Although the hotel room was right above the pub, it closed at 9 or 11 pm depending on the night so the noise was not an issue for us at all. The hotel also offers a shared kitchen/lounge where we would make breakfast or warm up any leftovers. A nice option if you don't want to eat out every meal. Great wineries and golf courses very accessible from here so we will no doubt return some day.

After discussing the situation, we decided that we didn't want to stay there at all, as we are in a pandemic and if this is the standard of cleaning that they are doing, there is no way to know if the new room they gave us was clean. We asked to get a refund and were told that we would not be refunded for the first night (despite not even staying the first night) **Full transparency** Wyndham did offer us points instead of a refund, unfortunately we had already spent a couple hundred more on the Ramada by Wyndham in Kelowna - this review is solely for the Super 8 establishment itself and not of Wyndham. Additionally, under the pretense of "Temporary Covid19 Initiative", BC Housing has taken to using this Super 8 location for individuals experiencing homelessness. While I commend the government for taking this initiative, it is irresponsible of the establishment to not be transparent with potential customers that this is the case.
