we used Seci back in February, we had a leak due to ice damn on existing roof. got a decent quote but upon inspection some decking and framework needed replacement. we needed to proceed as the tear off was started. the project manager immediately left to get supplies needed to completely tear down and rebuild roof. the cost substantially increased due to damage and upgrades. We have had no issues or problems since replacement. Also, we upgraded with new gutters built into the quote. read more

Being in the trades myself, I'm quite picky and somewhat leery of other peoples work. But at 62 years old, it was not the time for me to take on replacing a roof on my house near Allentown, PA. Even though my roof had some years on it and was not in the best of shape, I had wind damage to my roof and their estimator, Sadri Kortoci, worked closely with my insurance company and the insurance company's adjuster to get a portion of my roof paid for by the insurance company. Of the other 8 companies that I had give me estimates, Seci was the only people who wanted to work with my insurance company, that effort saved me a significant amount of money !! When the crew arrived to replace the roof, crew leader, Remi Bono was very informative about all the steps of the job and asked me several times to review the work as it was being done. The roof looks great and the crew cleaned everything up nicely. All in all, Seci was a great choice and I highly recommend them. read more

Initially I got a 17k qoute never inspected the roof so I thought I got a great deal but when the roof was taken off turns out the plyw was bad they only said they cover 6 plywood but once the roof was removed I was stuck there was no bargaining with them I was stuck so they hacked the price to 43k 18k more than most quotes I got . The inspector was like bullying me into getting the job done. I had no choice because the roof was removed and I couldn't just get another contractor. I was so mad with them charging me an extra 26k grand that put me in financisl disaster. I don't recommend them because the salesman just want to make a huge profit for himself. They suck read more

Beware of SECI Construction. We were quoted $11,000 for a roof replacement, but once work began, they suddenly claimed major damage and increased the price to $70,000--with no written agreement. They pressured us into a loan that would've totaled over $100,000 after interest. After a heated argument and the threat of legal action, the CEO negotiated it down to $25,000. Better, but still double the original quote. During garage roof work, they damaged our garage door with falling debris and did a poor, unsuccessful repair. The roof looks okay so far, but their financial tactics are shady and the whole experience was stressful. Get everything in writing and proceed with caution. read more

I am so glad I chose SECI!!! The quote is only part of the job. By all means , get them but that's only the beginning . These guys showed up every day and worked on my house to put a new brick chimney for the top 14 feet as well as a new roof and gutters. The quality of the work is top notch . I like using the complete system Owen's Corning makes (pink panther) and a 50 year warranty means it's covered for life for me . It's the people that make this company the one to choose. Nobody knows what is under the shingles until they expose everything. This house is about 100 years ago and the rot and destruction and problems were everywhere. These guys are more than capable of handling anything and did a beautiful job of repairing completely all the issues Remi Renato is my project manager and he has handled every situation with confidence and he treats his crew very well. SECI worked on our roof (new singles and plywood), installed a new attic fan, and demolished our very old back patio overhang and shed for us. The quality of the roof work looks fine. Time will tell, I guess. The issues were with how the work was done and cleaned up. A few observations: 1. They sell HARD. Their team talked about their Master Builder and BBB status for nearly 2 hours at our house. They were nice enough, but it didn't seem like they would leave until we signed the contract with them. 2. The post job clean-up was messy. There was a stray shingle hanging from the roof. The new attic fan wasn't connected. Our landline wire was disconnected. Their workers even ruined one of my dad's hammers that they were using for the demo. Price seems competitive and reasonable, but I was left questioning the professionalism. read more

The sales team sell you the promise of quality work, but you instead get the classic "bait and switch" and you end up with clearly untrained crews doing poor work on your property for an inflated cost. Salesman promised me the best quality roof with warrantee. Within the first 6 months , from three different spots I had leaks . Water was dripping everywhere I'm my house . First time they shows up but the second and third time they gave me a hard time. The 4 th time they refused to come and I had to hire another roofer to come and fix tue problem . Now after a few years I have another leak from a different spot. Not to mention the sky light window was not installed properly and water gets in . Please do not use this company . I have never seen anyone have so many problems with a brand new roof and although I was overcharged for so called better quality l, they did a terrible job and their crew does not have enough experience to do roofing . I would not recommend them. I had a roof vent on the peak of my roof before they started construction. They were supposed to replace my roof exactly as it was obviously with new roofing material. They did not put in the roof vent at the peak of my roof when I called them and questioned them about that I was ignored and never heard back from them again never return phone call. It worries me because I have a warranty on my roof and don't know if I can count on them to service it because I cannot get my call returned. They were very nice when they were quoting my roof, but again still have not heard back from them. read more

I agree with John M. Run. The sales team promises you anything, it didn't seem like they would leave until we signed the contract with them. No time to think it over which I see now as a red flag. We were upfront about our roof being a slat roof and they assured me they could work with that. After ripping off my whole roof, the slat roof became an issue. They then needed to use 50 sheets of plywood. This drove up the price by $8,000+!! I got the classic bait and switch also. the cleanup was a joke. They destroyed my flower bed and debris ended up in my neighbors yards on both sides of me. To this day I am still finding nails in my yard, flower beds and driveway. Also there was no one on site all day but maybe a half hour (2 days of work) that spoke English. Very hard to communicate when the workers did not speak English. They also dropped something or stepped on the roof of my bedroom ceiling and put a hole in it. They did fix it but you would think they were professionals and would be careful. For the past several weeks I have been calling as I need a document/statement that the work was done for my homeowners insurance and NO ONE has gotten back to me. What if something is wrong with the roof in the future and I need to use the warranty that comes with the work/roof. If no one can get back to me about a document (that I signed on an iPad) how am I to access the company warranty for workmanship? read more

First the good: Workmanship on roof replacement seems good. Do have the Owens-Corning 50 yr transferable warranty. One of the workers put his foot through the ceiling in the kitchen, and they immediately dispatched a person to repair it and it looks like it had never happened. There was one problem with the job and they quickly returned to make the repair. After I talked with the owner about the price increase (see below), he added some gutter work as part of the price. After the shingles were completely off (!), I was told they needed to replace the entire roof deck and replace two skylights which almost tripled the estimate. The roof deck was particle board originally. To this day, I am not certain if it was a fair price. I am a concerned that the estimator did not give a correct estimate. read more

We needed a new roof in days not weeks and we were getting quoted sky high prices. Seci Construction not only came in with the lowest bid from a master elite roofer but they set us up to start work in days not weeks. When it was raining heavily on the day we picked, Seci Construction came in on the next day, a Sunday, to get the work done. When it started to drizzle on Sunday, they kept putting on the roofing through the rain. Seci Construction will tell you to be there when they do the work and they are right. Once the shingles came up, Seci Construction offered to replace all of our 3/8" panels with 1/2" panels. This would have doubled the price of the job, so we checked the state code and found that 3/8" was good enough, so we said to stick with what we had, and there was no argument. Seci Construction worked two days, started on a Sunday, worked through the rain, and got us a brand new beautiful roof. read more

We called a few roofing places to get our roof replaced. We picked SECI Constructions to do the job because the who came to give us the estimate quoted $8,000 for the job, which we agreed. We had another quote from another construction place for $7500 to replace the roof. We chose SECI construction even though the price was slightly higher than the other place. They came two days later and removed all the shingles. After removing everything another guy came and told us our roof needed a complete overhaul and priced extra over $16,000. He did not want to leave the home until we agreed. We finally told him to do the entire job for $13,800. My neighbor replaced her roof about three years ago for about $7,500. These houses were built by the same builder in 2000, so the roofs were of the same standard. We couldn't say no since they already removed the shingles. Please stay away from these people if you are looking for a roofing contractor. I don't think they are honest people. read more

Have been trying for a month to get a call back to start my roof that I SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR! 2 weeks ago Thursday was told it would be finalized Friday. Sunday still no word. Sunday told Monday. Tuesday still nothing. Tuesday told I would get a call, Wednesday at 4pm sharp to confirm all details. It's 6:12pm. Still no call. Onto another company. Very unprofessional and we haven't even begun. **Update** Achilles the owner was supposed to come Sunday. He canceled on me. Then was supposed to come today, Tuesday between 4-5. He came at 5:20. I told him up and down how upset I was with him stringing me along. I have a signed contract from the beginning of August stating they were to start within 10 days! He now tonight tells me I have every right to be upset and oh, by the way, we have to raise the price $7,500 because we made a mistake! Raising the price from $25,000 to $32,500! Totally poor business people. Would never recommend Seci Construction Inc. They have no business skills and claim every time you express a concern "we're Seci" like that holds value! read more

We used this company to replace our roof. They installed the roof quickly and that was the last thing they did that was note worthy. That was 4 years ago. Since then I had to call them twice on 2 separate issues. Both times they finally came out after several calls and had many excuses on why this was not covered under my "warranty " and I had to ultimately hire another contractor to fix the problem that Seci should had handled in the first place. Went thru Angi's list to find a someone to replace my roof. Had gotten estimates from.several companies . Spoke with Joe from Seci . Seemed very knowledgeable. Hard sell . Sent contract with a we pay for referrals page . They came and replaced the roofing on my home . Was pretty pleased . Has only been 2 months so time will tell . I referred 2 people and they both used Seci to do roofing and gutter work . According the to the flyer in the proposal i should have received 250.00 per customer . And the other should have received 250.00 also . Have not seen any referral money . Have spoken with my salesman Joe and first text he was going to check with the office ....after that no response . Sent an email to the office ....you guessed it . No response. If this was not mentioned several times during the hard sell it would not have been an issue . They were the first and only call we made. Originally found this company through home advisor. First off let me say that this company want great to work with. I know some of the reviews seem to say different. We had a overall great experience. I gave them 4 stars because the communication after the contract was a bit sparse. Don't let that deter you, the company has good pricing, for our size house they quoted us the price we assumed. Dealt with the president of the company, he is pretty hands on and very thorough with explaining the product, time frame, etc. Project took 3 days. We replaced the roof and got new gutters installed. Took about a week and maybe 2 more days from the consultation to end of the project, we had a leak in the roof and they were accomodating. As we are in a remote part of NJ, it was harder to find a well known company without getting ripped off. Turns out a few of our neighbors inquired about the company and ask for their business card. They not only do roofing, but I can't vouch for the work on other areas. I would recommend this company for roofing! read more

Horrible, horrible sales experience with Seci and Sadri, the sales representative. Beware, the company wants both husband and wife to be available for sales pitch since replacing a roof is a "big" decision. I had to "justify" for 10 minutes that won't be necessary. (In fact, I had to tell him that I just signed a $20,000 landscape lighting contract without my husband looking at it.) Then, Sadri takes a phone call in the middle of our appointment for 20 - 25 minutes, walking around our front yard. Later, he explains that it was a customer call. I told him that I am also a customer with a sizable job, should not have to wait on our committed time for another customer call, and asked him to leave. Not sure about the execution and installation by this company. Sales process was very unprofessional. I do not recommend this company. There are many other great companies out there. read more

Our neighbors hired them to do their roof and Seci Construction damaged our property. The owner never bothered to call us, though I asked him to several times. They TRAMPLED 49 ferns, 6 full hostas and nine other smaller plants. (our garden is was full of plants to reduce weeding) Additionally, they tossed our neighbor's roofing material off the side of the house and got roofing tar on our house and on our central air unit. They put two big holes in our Lilac bush and moved objects in our yard to make less of a tripping hazard for the workers as they trampled the length of our garden. I only spoke with the project manager, Joe. I got angry on the phone, particularly when Joe told me that what happened was in the past (all the week before) and there was nothing he could do about it. They offered $100 in damages then offered $250. I told Joe that working in the garden was a hardship for my husband and I. He never offered to send someone to help. It took us three and a half hours to clean up the mess. I never heard from them again and was never given anything for compensation (the plants alone are worth more than $250) The rest of the season we will have large amounts of weeds since we had to cut most everything down. The year before, we had our roof done by Master's Home Solutions. They caused no damage to our property or our neighbor's. Your neighbor could hold you responsible for the damage caused by the people you hire. read more

Job date: 10/25/18-10/30/18 Location: Bernardsville, NJ. We agonized and delayed the selection of a roofer for months. We finally decided that the roof had to be addressed. We looked on the home repair websites and were approached several roofers. SECI seemed like a good company and the price was reasonable. I feel really lucky that we choose them. Achilles and his team started the job and discovered that under our asphalt shingles was a 75 year old cedar shake roof. Seems it's not that uncommon. You can't put a new roof on top of a wooden shingle roof. Needless to say that meant a lot of extra work and materials. SECI kept the price reasonable (and completed the job despite a big storm in the middle of the job (they insured the house was covered during the storm). I carefully watched their work all during the job. These guys are truly pros and really strive for a perfect job. The job foreman inspects every part of the process to insure it is done properly. I've never seen a harder working crew. The cleanup was great and the next crew that did the gutters really did a great job too. I can't recommend SECI enough. Needless to say this is a real review and I'm proud to write a good review (and I usually don't bother to review stuff anymore). We interviewed over a dozen different companies to repair and replace a leaky damaged roof and a broken masonry back yard patio. From start to finish we recommend this company and its personnel. There are a lot of crooks and phonies in this business, we've suffered from them in the past so we were extra careful this time and it paid off. The job was handled professionally from interviews to clean up, and the care and attention to detail was very impressive. These are people who care about doing a first rate job, and they provide a first rate product and service! We can't say enough good things about them, they worked on the roof 13 hours the first day, finished the morning of the second day with about eight workers, and the patio was a big job that took three days from demolition to completion.
