Upon entering I was greeted by the general manager who gave me a quick tour and told me all about how our lesson would go. There are several dressing rooms, cubbies to keep belongings while in the lesson, disposable wet bags, and a little play area for kids waiting for their turn for a lesson. The pools are separated into lanes based on a child's class level. The entry way/seating area for parents and the pool is separated by glass so parents can watch with ease while not being in the pool area. My child was in the youngest baby class since this was his first lesson and therefore I was required to get into the pool with him. We had a great time and he had a great first lesson. His teacher was kind and kept things moving on a tight schedule, but there was still time to accomplish everything necessary for the lesson. I was impressed by the scheduling and promptness of the lessons so that kids were in and out on time for the next class. During the lesson my child was taught to put a "balloon" in his mouth (hold his breath) and to blow bubbles in the water. He was taught safe ways to enter and exit the pool. Parents were taught various holds that would allow for their child to explore the water in safe ways. Kids were encouraged to begin learning how to float on their backs, how to get to the wall and hold on, and were taught very introductory swimming, by pushing off from the wall with the help of a parent. After the lesson we were able to get out, rinse out in the shower that's right off the pool (soap dispensers have baby shampoo/wash in them), and then make our way to the dressing room to change. My son loved every minute and we are excited to come back! The pool and pool room were very comfortably warm which made getting into the pool easy. Leaving the pool into the changing area was freezing though. Haha! Overall a great experience and so glad to have a swim school closer to home!

I believe you have to go with someone who has a membership in order to get in, if you don't have one. The food there was pretty cheap but took forever for them to make, waited 15 minutes for cheese fries but seems they only drop one order of fries at a time, not too sure why but... They definitely have a lot of rules, no pool balls in the pool.. Kids have to have chest floats ( just arm floaties aren't allowed). They are cash only, though they have an ATM. Even if no one is in line for the slide or walking to get in line, you can't just walk up from the middle, you have to walk all the way to the bottom of the slide then walk up the path ( which I get so people can't cut in line ) though if no one is walking up to the slide, not sure why it matters but again I get it... Very clean. A good number of life guards on duty. All staff were super friendly.

When I asked about the rule, they said that the rule is there because they are not safe and can let water into the mask. WHAT! Silly rule that makes no sense. The goggles are safe and sold and used everywhere, but the YMCA disagrees for some reason. Wish we could say we would be back, but no chance with this ridiculousness.

The instructors were great with my son, sang songs, and made it really fun for him. Most importantly, there were a ton of lifeguards and instructors in and around the pool. All of the areas were really clean which I appreciate too. The staff is super helpful, they explained how everything works and gave a full tour. They have changing rooms, hair dryers, a swimsuit dryer, snack shop, and retail store.

Two years later (she is now 2 years 2 months), we're still here and couldn't be happier with our experience. Goldfish has helped her develop confidence, comfort, and important water safety skills from an early age. She's never afraid of the water and genuinely looks forward to her lessons each week. We've been so impressed by the consistency, structure, and warm environment the instructors create. The staff is professional, friendly, and wonderful with young children.
