Quite often we would hop between the Polish Hill and Bloomfield Pools with friends. The pool is located inside West Penn Park and follows the same guidelines as all city pools. (ie $5 daily admission for residents). It can get busy but never as crowded as other pools. I've been there at times when there was maybe only ten other people. It's smaller but still large enough for getting cooled off, lap or open swims. It's definitely a local, in-the-know vibe. Very clean. Super chill.

Cons: It's the smallest of the public pools I think People swim in their underwear and bras a lot and no one seems to care The bathrooms smell like rot and mildew and mold and urine and it's gag inducing The bathrooms are COVERED in spiders and webs, seriously does anyone clean those things The life guards legitimately yelled at myself, and another couple because our SO's were carrying us in their arms. She said, "NO TOUCHING!" what is this Arrested development? I'm sorry no one has touched you in years you miserable old mare, but we're adults and we're not horsing around or being inappropriate... Parking is kind of a bitch if you don't get there early enough.

It is huge and accommodates many activities and games within its parameters without bothering anyone. There are nice areas for the toddlers, pre-teen and exciting slides and games for the older kids and adults. The table area outside of the restaurant is very nice for a family or a couple to sit and eat or just have good ole conversation. It can also be a great place to take a reprieve from the sun. As a whole I have found most people to be very friendly and helpful. In matter of fact, I am disabled and have problems walking a distance with my cane.....sometimes parking can be really far away and I have found myself in past years just turning around and leaving. But......this year the owner saw me hobbling down the hill and stopped in his golf cart and told me to call anytime for him or someone to come and pick me up if I find myself in that situation again. I am sure that in the future I will take him up on his helpful offer so I can enjoy the fun within the gates of Pine Cove Swim Club. There are great pavilions to use for parties and get togethers and Pine Cove also offers extra activities on certain days for adults and children. I only have one negative thing to say about the grassy area where you place your blanket or chair - most of the area is on a steeper slope and finding a comfortable way to sit on your towel without toppling down the hill is a challenge. This also makes it hard to sit in a chair without sliding down, Minor excavation could help that. To solve this I try to get there early to get a lounge on the flat cement area by the pool, but these are few and hard to get. Another plus is being able to take your chair or inner tube and keeping it on the fence at the pool so you do not have to carry it back and forth all season. My opinion is I will be buying a pass to Pine Cove until I can not walk to get inside.....then I may come in a wheel chair. LOL. Isabelle S.
