As a Yelp Elite All Star I noticed that the most current YELP review for this pool was a one star review based solely on what this person thought the price should be for entry for her & her kids & her comparison to North Park Pool. First off Cranberry Township Waterpark, offers more than just a pool. It has a very large kids area with large kiddie pool, water dump bucket, splash pad & preschool water sliding board. It has a dedicated lap swim lane at all times. It has a waterside, low diving board, water tunnel sliding board, water climbing wall, sand volleyball court, grassy play areas, concession stand with large variety of foods, drinks & desserts & bathrooms with showers & changing rooms. There are giant umbrellas for shade, and many lounge & some Adirondack chairs. You can get water wings, or life vests for your kids there if needed. This is not a county pool like North Park Pool. NPP is run by the county. Cranberry is run by the township (not Butler County) & managed & staffed by high school kids. The pool is located inside West Penn Park and follows the same guidelines as all city pools. (ie $5 daily admission for residents). It can get busy but never as crowded as other pools. I've been there at times when there was maybe only ten other people. It's smaller but still large enough for getting cooled off, lap or open swims. It's definitely a local, in-the-know vibe. Even when I'm back in Pittsburgh visiting during the summer, I've gotta hit up the Bloomfield Beach. The City of Pittsburgh has pools in many city neighborhoods and us Bloomfielders take great pride in the Bloomfield Beach. Kids 15 & under get in free. Daily admission for residents $5. Daily rates differ for non-residents. Pool tags for residents available. $30 per adult/$60 for family of four. The pool has gone through recent repairs and it's clean and well-maintained. Bloomfield Beach has been around since 1935. There's plenty of lawn space around the pool for towels and resting. Adult Lap Swim: 12pm-1pm 7pm-745pm (M-F) Open Swim: 1pm-7pm (M-F) 1pm-545pm (Weekends) Anyone from Bloomfield will tell ya it's one of the best pools in the city!

The manager is very kind but is a true professional at managing the pool. My grandchildren learned to swim by taking lessons. They are now on the Crafton Crocadile swim team. The coaches of the team are very good with the children, over 100 children are on the team. Water arobics are also offered 2 evenings a week. The guards are professional and very safety conscious but let the kids have a fun time at the pool. There is a baby pool and snack bar at the pool too. All in all, everything is here for you to have a wonderful summer experience!

Took my 2.5 year old for his first swimming lesson this past week. Big Blue just opened in…read morecranberry township within the past month. Upon entering I was greeted by the general manager who gave me a quick tour and told me all about how our lesson would go. There are several dressing rooms, cubbies to keep belongings while in the lesson, disposable wet bags, and a little play area for kids waiting for their turn for a lesson. The pools are separated into lanes based on a child's class level. The entry way/seating area for parents and the pool is separated by glass so parents can watch with ease while not being in the pool area. My child was in the youngest baby class since this was his first lesson and therefore I was required to get into the pool with him. We had a great time and he had a great first lesson. His teacher was kind and kept things moving on a tight schedule, but there was still time to accomplish everything necessary for the lesson. I was impressed by the scheduling and promptness of the lessons so that kids were in and out on time for the next class. During the lesson my child was taught to put a "balloon" in his mouth (hold his breath) and to blow bubbles in the water. He was taught safe ways to enter and exit the pool. Parents were taught various holds that would allow for their child to explore the water in safe ways. Kids were encouraged to begin learning how to float on their backs, how to get to the wall and hold on, and were taught very introductory swimming, by pushing off from the wall with the help of a parent. After the lesson we were able to get out, rinse out in the shower that's right off the pool (soap dispensers have baby shampoo/wash in them), and then make our way to the dressing room to change. My son loved every minute and we are excited to come back! The pool and pool room were very comfortably warm which made getting into the pool easy. Leaving the pool into the changing area was freezing though. Haha! Overall a great experience and so glad to have a swim school closer to home!
