However, it's since been renovated and repaired (2023ish) and is now an inform public swimming pool. The pool is closed during the summer months. Since the reopening of the pool, it's become a popular spot in fall and winter months. I love having a swim here. There's just so much history to the building and the pool. It's extremely clean and well-maintained. There's open swimming, lap swimming, aquatic programs (water aerobics, lessons, etc.). A true South Side gem.

There is not much to do in the smaller communities for amusement and this is a great option.

The pool is located inside West Penn Park and follows the same guidelines as all city pools. (ie $5 daily admission for residents). It can get busy but never as crowded as other pools. I've been there at times when there was maybe only ten other people. It's smaller but still large enough for getting cooled off, lap or open swims. It's definitely a local, in-the-know vibe. As a Yelp Elite All Star I noticed that the most current YELP review for this pool was a one star review based solely on what this person thought the price should be for entry for her & her kids & her comparison to North Park Pool. First off Cranberry Township Waterpark, offers more than just a pool. It has a very large kids area with large kiddie pool, water dump bucket, splash pad & preschool water sliding board. It has a dedicated lap swim lane at all times. It has a waterside, low diving board, water tunnel sliding board, water climbing wall, sand volleyball court, grassy play areas, concession stand with large variety of foods, drinks & desserts & bathrooms with showers & changing rooms. There are giant umbrellas for shade, and many lounge & some Adirondack chairs. You can get water wings, or life vests for your kids there if needed. This is not a county pool like North Park Pool. NPP is run by the county. Cranberry is run by the township (not Butler County) & managed & staffed by high school kids. YES, the prices ARE higher than Allegheny County & City pools: 2025 Daily Admission Rates Residents: $11 Non-Resident: $16 Children: 2 - 12 years old Resident:$10 Non-Resident: $14 Children under 2: FREE 55+ Senior Resident: $10 Non-Resident: $14 Twilight Rates (after 6 p.m.) Resident: $8 Non-Resident: $10 Tuesday Night Swims: 9-11 p.m. Members: FREE Non-Members: $8 But that gives ZERO reason to diss this beautiful waterpark & all it has to offer. I'm a Borough resident and grateful to live within close walking distance of this pool…read more For a couple years it was under construction, taking a bit longer than expected and reopening to great anticipation. Now here we are, and it's hard to be disappointed with such a gorgeous pool, but there are a couple of misses here. The good: There are graduated entries throughout as opposed to the stairs that used to serve as the entry points. The deep end has two waterslides, a climbing wall and a low diving board. The baby pool has beautiful shade covers that I wish had been there when I was growing up in Baldwin-Whitehall. There are fun little splash features in the middle of the pool. The bad: I would be disingenuous if I didn't say I was disappointed about how they redesigned the deep end. The additions of the slides and climbing wall are largely for kids/teens, and came at the expense of the lap lanes for which I largely use the pool. Lap lanes still exist, but just four of them, and they are always filled by people who grab one and stay for a long time. When the pool was first reopening there was talk that these would be by reservation, and I can't imagine how that would have worked either. So now I just generally swim around the main expanse of the pool, which is fine and slightly heated, especially wonderful if a day is otherwise not quite warm enough to be swimming. Finally there is the snack bar, which didn't open at all this year. There used to be a great, large snack bar down the little hill near the parking lot, and that's gone now in favor of a smaller one at one of the entrances. The little ritual of grabbing an ice cream bar or similar a couple times a year is fun for me and a lot of families, I'm sure, and is very much missed.

Facilities are well-kept, and it's a fun way to get out and meet new people. You can either bring your own drinks and snacks, or you can purchase food from the "Shark Shack" - it's not good for you, but it sure tastes good! They also have live music on Fridays, when the pool stays open until 10pm. Looks like we have ourselves a new Summer tradition!!!
