Charles was a great tour guide - very friendly and funny. Everyone on the bus had a great time - little kids and adults alike. (My friend thought at points it was a little morbid with references to 9-11 and Kurt Cobain's funeral home, but I thought it was fine.) The sites were nice and we got to stop and take pictures at the end. Props for picking us up and dropping us off at our hotel, then Pike Market. So convenient! We started off our first morning in Seattle with this Qwik tour and it was the best idea we had for the whole trip! It was our first time to the city and wanted to get our bearings and see some of the sites that only require a drive by. Charles was a hoot and a half! We loved his wit and knowledge and how he included everyone on the bus in the tour (whether they wanted to be included or not!) Charles by far has been one of the most knowledgeable, pleasant and compassionate business owners I have ever worked with. I booked Charles for a private bus tour for my company beginning of October. He was quick to respond, knowledgeable in satisfying my wants for the tour, and providing the best accommodations for my employees while on tour. By far the et between the other 4 I was gathering quotes and tours from. Unfortunately a week before the trip, there was a death in the company and we had to cancel the entire weekend trip. Charles was so compassionate and understanding. He went through great lengths to make sure I was ok and even after all his planning and hard work he offered to reimburse our non-refundable deposit. My tour of Seattle with Charles and Seattle Qwik Tours was one of the highlights of my trip. It was a good way to get my bearings, learn juicy tidbits, and take a medley of pictures. Charles was open and accommodating. I called him about and 1-1.5 hours before the tour to reserve my slot. He suggested a specific address (one with inexpensive parking for my rental car) and he met me there with the bus. He even helped me figure out how to use the Seattle parking meters and affix the sticker to the diver window. Next we went and picked up another passenger from her hotel. It was just the three of us: Charles, the other girl and me. The small group size allowed us to stop and exit the bus for more photo opportunities than usual (Charles even volunteered to take pictures of me with some of the sites). The downside of the small group was that I felt a lot of pressure to be engaged and laugh. Charles was extremely knowledgeable and a natural stage entertainer - good for a sprawling audience. He had a bell that he sometimes hit with a stick, music for certain parts of the tour, and bubbles. Normally I would have preferred to relax a little, blend into the crowd, and focus on taking pictures rather than displaying such a high amount of engagement and appreciation. We went all over the city. Charles told us about the neighborhoods, the climate, the social climate, the cost of living, Bill Gates and other celebrities, a troll under a bridge, a floating bridge and floating houses, a monkey puzzle tree, and many other points of interest. I super enjoyed learning all of it and almost wanted there to be a "Part 2" the next day after I rested! I think the $35 price tag was perfectly appropriate. Charles was able to take credit card payments on the bus and generate receipts with a line for tips. He definitely deserved a tip! Charles made a concerted effort to make sure that we enjoyed our visit to Seattle. He wanted me to put more money in my meter and then he wanted to drop me off at another point to explore on my own. I appreciated his care but (being the introvert that I am) I needed time alone to recharge my battery to make a decision about my next step. read more

I have to say, I had higher hopes for this tour. It was my friend's 30th birthday and we were traveling around the Portland and Seattle areas. It was our first time in Seattle so we were excited about touring the key locations like Pike Place Market, Freemont Troll, Space Needle, etc. The "Chuckster" texted my friend the night before the tour to confirm our attendance to which she replied, "Yes, we will be there!" She received an aggravated sounding voicemail an hour before the tour saying he never received the confirmation text message and that he will show up at the hotel where we were staying anyway to see if we show up. He ended up being late picking us up. I just think if you are confirming a reservation, you should probably use email or phone first before texting. Or use the original form of communication through which the reservation was made. What if the phone number she provided had been a landline? It was pretty unprofessional. Fast forward to the tour. I definitely appreciated the map and layout of the tour and the brief history of each spot. We had quite a diverse group on our bus; lots of out-of-towners like ourselves, along with several people who were in the area for a conference. There was a woman on the bus who forgot her camera so we decided to make her condo/apartment one of the stops on the tour so she could find said camera. After we sat on the side of the road for 10 minutes, she reappeared sans camera - she was unable to find it! What a shame. Onto the next stop. We passed by the Fremont Troll and the Pike Place Market sign. We were promised that we would be able to get out and take pictures with the troll and walk around the market but we never did. We also passed by the elementary school Jimi Hendrix attended, saw a bench Courtney Love used to sit and write poetry on, and a sliver of the Seattle Seahawks stadium. We also stopped across the river from what was apparently Bill Gates' house but it was hard to tell. I did appreciate the knowledge Chuck did share on the things we saw. I think the biggest highlight of the trip was stopping at a local McDonald's so 95% of the tourists could get off and use the facilities. Even though there was an announcement halfway through the tour about making a restroom stop. Ironically, it was probably the best view of the Space Needle we were able to get. Standing in the McDonald's parking lot taking pictures of the Space Needle - a good story to tell if nothing else. We booked this tour because of all the stellar reviews and 5-star ratings Chuck had received. I was under the assumption it would be more "touristy" and we would have opportunities to take pictures and make more stops. I was really disappointed that we weren't able to make additional stops and was really put off by his attitude from the start. read more

The tour is a good value and gets you out of downtown and into some neighborhood sites. The Chuckster owns the tour company I believe and is passionate about the business. He is part George Carlin and part historian as he bounces about the coach. He will keep you on guard as he quickly learns names and directs comments directly to individuals on the tour. Visiting Seattle for the first time, I decided to take a bus tour as a quick way to learn all about what the city had to offer. I arrived late on Friday evening and emailed Seattle Qwik Tours to see if they had availability on a tour the next day. The tour operator, Charles, called me first thing next morning telling me he would pick me up at 9.45 at my hotel - he literally could not have made it any easier for me! Traveling solo, Charles was super friendly and made sure to introduce me to all the other passengers and include me in the group throughout the trip which I really appreciated. The tour itself is about 90 minutes long which covers all the spots that I wanted to visit during my trip. Charles was full of information and fun facts throughout the tour and I learned a lot of things about Seattle that day which I hadn't really found online which is nice for a change! At the end of the tour, Charles dropped me back to my hotel. Coming from Europe (Ireland), I have traveled to lots of different countries and I always make sure to do a bus tour when there is one available. The Seattle Qwik Tour was without doubt the most unique tour I have embarked on (thanks to Charles gadgets and jokes!). Charles told me during the tour that he was planning a trip to Ireland. Charles drove a group of 20 of my coworkers on a beer tasting tour around Woodinville. He was excellent in communicating ahead of the event about our plan and goals for the day. He was the most fun driver and had the most competitive prices in all of Seattle. Chuck is the man. I had the pleasure of sharing his company for three days as myself and my coworkers were shuttled around various parts of the city. After reading some of these other reviews, I would advise that if you are a sheltered human you may not enjoy yourself as much but if you actually have a sense of humour and a sense of adventure you're in for the trip of a lifetime! Prepare to be entertained with fun facts and sharp wit as you are taken past such sights as Kurt Cobain's old house, Jimi Hendrix's school and the Space Needle! (I'm not sure what kind of medication the person who thought he was driving like a loon was on, probably the same kind of person who slows back down to 80% of the speed limit after speeding ahead in a passing lane... then again some people can be very dainty) read more

WooHoo, This tour was really fun. We didn't have time to do one of the 3 hour tours and didn't want to miss out on the high lights of a great city. Charles picked us up and we were off. He had a map hanging in the front and would point out the areas that we were in and headed to. That made it a lot easier to understand the neighborhoods later too. His personality is bubbly and fun and man he loves his city. One of the women on our bus texted her husband and told him that she wanted to move to Seattle on their next transfer. Charles drove my group of 20 to our event site and back. He was extremely communicative and helpful leading up to the event and was early for pickup and drop off. When someone accidentally got on our bus instead of her conference shuttle he drove her all the way back downtown to her intended destination. The day of the tour was a typical February day in Seattle. So it was just the two of us with Charles. Charles was great! He said this would be great and we were going to have a great time, because we were family now. Being from Bremerton, we've made excursions into Seattle and been on a number of tours. There is always something new to learn. Chalres knowledge and insight into the city was incredible. He personalized our tour experience to what we've experienced on prior trips. His witty banter and genuine jocularity sent the experience over the top. As the tour ended, we expected to be dropped off where he had been picked-up. When we mentioned we would be walking to Pioneer Square for an underground tour later, he volutneered to take us and even recommended a great place for lunch while we were waiting. We were a family of 8 needing transportation from the pier to Sea Tac Airport. We were very happy that we could add a 90-minute tour of Seattle plus an hour stop at Pikes Market to our trip. Charles was ready to pick up us as soon as we got off our ship which is a welcome change from the horrible Shuttle Express experience we had the week before trying to get from Sea Tac airport to the pier. Best city tour ever. I wish I hadn't brought my 1.5 year old along because there was so much to see and our guide, Chuck, was giving us so much information. He was super accommodating with picking us up where it was convenient for us and was texting with us to make it easy. The tour was not too long and not too short, but juuuust right. He was funny and welcomed questions and showed us a tour the way a local would, hitting a lot of the obvious tourist attractions but also showing us some other points of interest we wouldn't have found in any guidebook.
