Our old patio was rotting through and the fence was basically disintegrating, so we finally decided to have the whole thing rebuilt. Daniel showed up on the very same day we called. Together, we brainstormed with him on a new layout (including custom planter boxes around the perimeter). He was incredibly knowledgeable, transparent about cost and timelines, and super enthusiastic. Within a week, the Sea Renovation crew had demolished the old deck, and three weeks later, the project was done -- right on time, just like the estimate we'd gotten. The construction guys did an amazing job, I was shocked by how efficiently they tore down and rebuilt the patio and fence. We've dealt with contractors in the past, and it's never gone as smoothly as it did with Sea Renovation. They did such an phenomenal job, we'll definitely go with them again for any future projects!

Scheduling was inconsistent, with workers sometimes arriving without my knowledge and other times not showing up when expected. I also found the lack of itemized work orders and clear planning frustrating. Work was sometimes completed before I had fully reviewed and approved it, leaving me feeling that I wasn't adequately involved in decisions affecting my own renovation. One example involved relocating the oven by just four inches, which also required addressing the ventilation. I was told I hadn't communicated the need to move the vent. The contractor proposed relocating the ventilation through the attic to the roof, which would have involved additional expense. After obtaining multiple bids, I learned that this extensive relocation was unnecessary and that the existing ventilation could be retrofitted. I ultimately hired someone else to complete the work. Similarly, closing off the existing attic access meant an alternative access location was needed, which resulted in additional charges. The contractor also refused to remove the full countertop installation charge from the final cost after I hired another professional to complete that work. His explanation was that the project had expanded beyond its original scope and he was trying to recoup some costs. However, I believe some of these additional costs stemmed from planning oversights that should have been anticipated. Although some smaller mistakes were corrected, the project required an unreasonable amount of oversight on my part. I frequently had to monitor the work, follow up on details, and address issues I expected the contractor to manage. I was left feeling that the project would not have been completed to an acceptable standard without my ongoing involvement. Ultimately, this experience fell well short of my expectations for communication, planning, transparency, and project management. I encourage prospective customers to document the scope of work carefully, clarify approval processes, and get a clear understanding of how additional charges will be handled before hiring this company.
