I am reviewing PAWS Cat City 501(c)3 for locals or visitors to Seattle U-District in hopes you will…read morestop by, as they are really one of the cleanest and most comforting cat rescue/adoption center non profits I have seen! They have the hugest amount of big hearted volunteers and I will be one soon too and donated a large cat tree, and immediately the cats wanted me to take them home when they saw my donation. I found the staff to be all really educated, kind, humble and very caring about the conditions and play activities and space for the cats. They have several glass playrooms with huge space so guests can go into the rooms and really connect to the cats, lots of activity, stimulation and playtime, very comforting cat sleep places and it is super clean. By the behaviors of the cats, I know it really is a special foundation. We hope this post will inspire any locals or visitors to consider visits and donations of time or anything to support these cats into real loving kind giving supportive new family homes. I love PAWS 501c3!!

He plays with the ribbon wand but is also happy playing by himself with the colored wool balls. Thanks so much to the people at PAWS who so wonderful and answered any questions I had about the kitties, including sharing medical history, diet, and all first time kitty owner questions. :) PAWS Cat City Adoption Center: The adoption center is located across from a day care or school in University District. When I walked in, it smelled clean and the meet and greet rooms were really clean as well! All of the kitties were just chillin in the rooms. Process: I found PAWS Cat City on Google maps when I searched cat adoption near me. I went to their website and kept checking for new kitties. When I saw a few that I wanted to meet, I just showed up the next day at opening (on a Thursday), let the adoption specialists know which kitties I was interested in meeting, filled out a form, and went straight into the meet and greet rooms. I spent about 20-30mins in the room observing and petting the kitties. While I was in the room, the adoption specialists came to check in every 10 mins and I was able to ask lots of questions. After I decided to take Tako home, I sat down with one of the adoption specialists and went through their packet. Someone also helped put Tako in the soft carrier that I brought. I ordered mine on Amazon, and since it's a soft one, it arrived folded up and didn't take up much space. I think they also have one-time use carrier or used hard carriers for purchase. I'd highly recommend PAWS Cat City for cat adoptions! I've seen some mixed reviews on how busy it gets on weekends, so I'd recommend stopping by during a weekday.

So in me doing the right thing I called animal control to surrender my animal. Who that way they wouldn't kill my dog and I wouldn't get criminal charges. I was there to believe that I would get my dog back along with behavioral training as long as I was committed to my dog which I had rescued my dog from a horrible situation and I loved her. 2 minute 2 months later when I got rehoused and went to claim my dog they told me she had been adopted out. I was cool with that at least she was in a good home. Then she showed up on animals website again so I went to inquire about getting my dog back. They would not give me my dog man. After they let me to believe that I'd be able to do so. They are horrible horrible horrible people for doing this. Looking out for the save to you all I did the right thing in this situation delivery to believe like getting my dog back and they wouldn't give her back. Horrible horrible horrible horrible people for lying and doing such actions. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS THEY ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE AND THEY ARE HORRIBLE COMMUNICATORS WITH THEIR CLIENTS!!!!

I have donated consistently to cat groups in the past ten years (Spay and Neuter, MEOW, Cat Alley,…read moreHumane Society, King County Animal Shelter, etc.). When I could no longer care for my cat, surprisingly, it was SAS that came through and helped me. I had been told on forums that a group like SAS would in all likelihood euthanize my cat. My memory of SAS from ten years ago was a section devoted to cats in small cages down the hall from a room where dogs were howling as if all Hell had broken out. I was distressed that the cats, all of whom were quietly sitting in their small cages, would have to endure dog mayhem at its most repellent. But a week ago, I visited SAS and surrendered my beloved cat. The room had changed: it was soundproofed, so that cats--still in small cages, could at least not be subject to the internal dog howling. The volunteers were all pleasant and empathetic. I stayed for an hour, enough time to say good-bye to my cat. They have a foster program for cats that have been surrendered. It is not exactly clear, from the website, how they operate, though. Are most of the cats surrenders or feral, for instance? What is the chance of a cat being euthanized because of age, behavior issues, or chronic health problems? I know the Humane Society has much nicer "digs" for their cats, which is why I hoped against all hope that I could surrender him there, which is where I adopted him as a kitten 8-9 years ago. They never got back to me. I can, in good conscience, sing the praises of SAS. They came through for both me and my cat when least expected ("kitty season"). He has a chance for a new and better life. For that, I am eternally grateful. Unlike other non-profits, of course, they do receive government funding. It does seem odd, though, that people who donate to the non-profits often are ignored by the very same non-profits in time of need.

I was able to add my sweet new family member back in August thanks to Homeward…read more The people are truly all so nice and the facility is extremely clean. They have put a lot of thought into providing the best care for dogs; music in the kennel room, private rooms for dogs that need them, prioritizing special needs dogs getting into foster homes and out of the kennel environment They even go above and beyond by spending time training dogs and puppies in their agility room. Their social media pages follow a few of the same dogs which just shows the dedication the members at Homeward have to maximizing the amount of people to see their adoptable pups. The quality and the passion truly show at Homeward. I am grateful for my dog and the people that took such good care of him at Homeward when he was there.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.

Forgotten Dogs does an incredible job rescuing dogs who are going to be euthanized and need help…read more They have a dedicated and loving team of fosters who get the dogs check ups and medical care if needed. They give accurate descriptions of their dogs because they want their dogs to truly fit in their new families. The fosters also train and help the dogs learn how to be a family member. Forgotten Dogs rescued our dog the day before she was going to be put down. She was overlooked at the animal shelter because she was cowering in the back of her cage, was droopy from having nursed puppies and she is a black dog. Her mid-section firmed up and she gained confidence and really blossomed with the security of her foster home. She is an incredible dog, cute, smart, and is very expressive. She is popular everywhere she goes. Follow them on Instagram @forgottendogsrescue to see their dogs and when appropriate many of their posts are humorous. I highly recommend Forgotten Dogs Rescue they have a lot of integrity and are knowledgeable, reputable, responsible, kind, helpful, supportive and loving rescue.
