I was able to add my sweet new family member back in August thanks to Homeward…read more The people are truly all so nice and the facility is extremely clean. They have put a lot of thought into providing the best care for dogs; music in the kennel room, private rooms for dogs that need them, prioritizing special needs dogs getting into foster homes and out of the kennel environment They even go above and beyond by spending time training dogs and puppies in their agility room. Their social media pages follow a few of the same dogs which just shows the dedication the members at Homeward have to maximizing the amount of people to see their adoptable pups. The quality and the passion truly show at Homeward. I am grateful for my dog and the people that took such good care of him at Homeward when he was there.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.

Smelled like urine, so not sure if they get taken outside to potty. The only down side my husband and i had was my dog is definetly not mix chihuahua, but i can understand that when they are all so tiny they all look mix chihuahua. We were told she wouldnt shed at all(which i had told my husband that breed sheds a lot anyways), and last but least my dog would NOT potty train outside what so ever until she was pretty much 6months and would occasionally do it a few months after. I would take her out but she would still pee and poop every day as a pup in her blankets so i sadly i couldnt sleep with her as a baby. I wasnt sure if this was because at her old home (furever home) they were all just allowed to pee where they slept so that's all she knew and brought that bad habit over to us. But either way we love our katie and shes grown up to be such a beautiful and wonderl dog.

We'll never know why because he's adorable, but our little Jack Russell-chihuahua mix had been there for a year. They continue to be great members of our family! I have read the reviews here, read the story from the Olympian, and read the comments. Visiting Furever Homes is overwhelming. Its not a conventional shelter. I have had dogs my whole life. My family raised dogs for the Army, and, in the more than 2 hours we spent with the dogs at Furever Homes, we never saw any dangerous or unsanitary conditions. I am disturbed that folks are willing to gloss over the great work the the Gold family is doing because they don't like the smell of a messy dog kennel. The dogs don't care about the smell. The dogs are alive, safe, well fed, loved, and socialized in a pack (which makes them good doggy citizens out in the real world). Adopt a dog from Furever Homes - it's a great organization.

I enjoyed my coffee drink and tea and ofcourse, enjoyed my experience visiting the adorable cats there but the reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I felt bad for the little cuties.. at least half of them looked exhausted and possibly a bit sickly even. They normally charge $15 for an hour long visit with the cats.. I happened to walk in almost a half hour into the hour and they offered to let me have a 30 min visit with the cats for $7 which is what I did... and i'm glad it worked out like that as I think an hour would be too long when there was only maybe 6 cats in total there and I really didn't feel like paying $15 to see some cats up close.. that's a bit steep but hopefully all the money they make from that goes towards the cat's care. I'll likely be back again on a future trip to check in on the cats and get another delicious drink.

That seems a little expensive, like 10 dollars would be perfect, but I get it they do adoptions and I know the money is going to help the cats rather then into a rich corporate pocket. Dealing with Tamera was the one of the top 5 worst experiences I've had in my life…read more This is a SHADY rescue that I DO NOT recommend! I can relate to all of the other negative reviews. When I called to inquire about adopting a puppy Tamera sounded as if she cared. She seemed knowledgeable & acted like she cared about the dogs she was putting up for adoption. After I agreed to adopt the puppy she asked if I'd like to also adopt the older male dog that was her kennel mate. I agreed. It all turned bad after I put in my application & provided many photos of my home. She quit calling back when she said she would. She then moved up the date to meet for pick up. She explained that the male was getting neutered & said I could get the pups on Saturday instead of the original day, Sunday. She told me she would text last night to give me a meet up date/time. I was up late last night & was wondering if I was even going to get them, because she started being horrible about getting back to me & just kept telling me "I work 18 hours a day." I had even offered to drive to Auburn from Ocean Shores to pick up the pups. She refused & insisted we meet up. After failing to text me last night she finally texted this morning & provided a place to meet up & gave a time of 4:30 pm. Just as we were walking out the door she called to change the time to 6 pm & informed that the male is infected with "Coccidia"...a worm. I wouldn't even have been able to see the dogs at 6 pm at night! She took the male in to be neutered on Friday knowing full well he was infected with a parasite! She stated that she had been treating him for 3 days & then said "the puppy doesn't show any signs of it, but I treated her anyway." My roommate was present, I was on speaker phone, so he is a witness to EVERY conversation. She was informed, during the interview, that we had just had to have our chi/mix that we had for 10 years put to sleep on 12/7 due to cancer of the lining of her stomach. Well, a puppy can EASILY get dehydrated & die from Coccidia! If these puppies had died, I would've been EVEN MORE devastated, because I just lost my beloved dog. What I'm really wondering is why she didn't tell me 3 days ago? My roommate finally said "enough is enough, there is something wrong with this rescue, call & talk to her & if she doesn't offer to make this right just cancel." I was so excited about getting the pups! I had so much time, money & emotions into buying their supplies, setting up for them, getting the food she recommended, etc. I was staying up late nights stressing about everything to be all prepared for them. I was watching updated training videos & had invested a lot. I can't even return the food, or the expensive crate (she told me to get a larger one than what I originally ordered). When I called to discuss this with her she didn't even apologize, she YELLED at me & was so unreasonable! I have text messages for proof. She told me that she was "transparent" with me. If she were transparent she would've been HONEST about the dog being infected with parasites 3 days prior to today! I have a genetic autoimmune disease & my immune system is compromised due to the meds that I take, I told her that during the interview. Some types of Coccidia can be transmitted from dogs to humans. Changing of times, failure to contact me on many occasions, were all understandable. HOWEVER, HER FAULURE TO BE HONEST ABOUT THE HEALTH OF THE DOGS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE! When I called her I expected professionalism, I thought she might apologize & offer to hold the dogs until she was sure they were cleared of the parasites... No, she immediately got agitated & YELLED at me! She then admitted that the puppy had some loose stools & when I asked, she informed that they had just been rescued 2 weeks ago. I had adopted my Chi/mix from a rescue through Petfinder, previously, & it was a wonderful experience, so I didn't expect any issues. I will definitely be researching any rescue I work with after this NIGHTMARE! She doesn't have the pets welfare in mind, because she told me not to take the puppy outside until she was 7 months old & her immune system was fully developed. Yet, she put a 3 1/2 month old puppy with a 1 year old Chi/mix that is infected with parasites! If you read the other reviews, her neglect has caused dogs to die from Parvo! Then, she sent nasty texts lying about everything that took place & had the nerve to say "good luck adopting a dog." Tamera is ruining it for people who want to adopt to save animals lives & provide loving homes because they won't be able to trust rescue agencies after the emotional roller coaster she puts people through. Then she is emotionally & verbally abusive after all of her failures to simply be honest! Why is she allowed to work in this field? She should be charged with animal cruelty & neglect! In fact, I am calling the police & I am going to research every animal protection agency I can to report her!
