I adopted a bichon frise from Gingers Pet Rescue 7 years ago while walking past Sierra's Pet in Renton during a study break at Starbucks. I originally thought I was only going to look at the dogs but one of the volunteers offered to have me walk a dog. This cute little terrier mix was what I thought I wanted until I found out the dog was not as friendly & affectionate as I expected. The lady volunteer then handed 'Doogie' to me as a possible 'good fit.' He was very quiet, skinny, and was sadly laying in his crate. He was a bichon frise that had been completely matted and as a result, he was shaven down. Out of the crate, he was gentle, sweet and all smiles. "Sold," I said as I had no idea what I was getting into. 7 years later and I must say he was the greatest purchase ever. He was a 6 year old dog at purchase and I actually did not know what that really meant. Doogie passed away a few weeks ago and I felt a big void. I went back to Gingers Pet Rescue and the lady there mentioned how she was concerned about me bringing home Xavier, a lab retriever puppy (picked out by my cousin). Xavier was very sweet, however, so much energy I only lasted a day. I was very appreciative of the trial and will definitely be back to find another dog.

I got my beautiful boy from this rescue. People are out there paying for designer dogs bred with unsafe practices (not all but many) for $3k to $5k or more! The fee here is less than half and sometimes even lower for saving a life and the money is used to save many more! My little man has brought so much joy into my life and the lives of those around me. He's house trained, loving, smart and funny! Morning cuddles are his specialty and he sits up and actually hugs me! Plus he speaks Korean so I'm learning lots. . HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We adopted Charlie a Maltese puppy boy from Gingers Pet Rescue on January 2024. We first saw him at Pet Smart when they had an adoption event, staff was very friendly and informative. We ended up adopting him. Gingers Pet Rescue was there every step of the way. Gingers Pet Rescue made the adoption process a breeze and gave us a new member to our family. Now our 3yr old Pug Dash has a brother and friend. We will highly recommend Gingers Pet Rescue to family and friends. Thanks again Gingers Pet Rescue !!

We rescued Bailey (formerly known as Beau) in March 2022. The entire process from start to finish was smooth. Sian Davies was very thorough and provided us step-by-step guidance through the adoption process. When we received Bailey, all of his vaccination records and wellness exam was ready for us, and the packet included lots of other things such as what to expect to see within the first 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months. Bailey is such a joy. He's grateful for this new life, and is thrilled by our daily walks in the park. He rolls on the grass as if he's in Heaven itself! He is good with other dogs, people, and has no behavioral issues that I've picked up on thus far. His demeanor is so loving, and you can literally see in his eyes how happy he is. I strongly recommend adoption through Ginger's Pet Rescue. You are not only saving an animal in need, you'll soon find how much they give us in return. Bailey is an official member of our family and I look forward to seeing him learn and discover new things.

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. They asked me all the right questions because they care where their dogs go. Please do not listen to the bad reviews. The people that wrote them are either confused or flat out stupid. Here's what to expect adopting here. I paid more than I thought I would, BUT, Kota (my rescue pup) came neutered and up to date on his shots. Factor in this organization saves dogs from Korea and flies them here, I would've paid double to help a cause like this. I spoke with Sian and she was incredibly helpful. She asked the questions I wanted to be asked, meaning she made sure I was actually ready for a dog. This is something not every organization does, and it shows how much they care about the future of their rescues. Again, please ignore the bad reviews. They are written by stupid people who are angry that they had to answer a few questions before being allowed a dog. Support Gingers Pet Rescue. They do incredible, thankless work, saving dogs from horrible conditions.

I implore you to consider adopting with Ginger's Pet Rescue! I don't know how I got so lucky to get my little guy right here. Sian was extremely responsive and answered all my questions and the volunteers who helped me were very sweet. A lot of people may question varying adoption fees, but you need to remember the WORK that comes with bringing your rescue overseas if you decide to get a rescue from another country. GPR takes care of all the accommodations that are necessary for your new family member. Fry came from a kill shelter in Korea and there are so many dogs that are coming from other countries as well as WA. ALSO -- your adoption fee goes to the NEXT dog that they are helping! *Pictured: Fry the Corgi (named after Fry from Futurama).

We adopted our dog from here October 2022. We saw her on the Ginger's Instagram. Sian was quick to respond to me. We brought our other dog with us to the Foster's home to meet her and adopted her from there. Sian was good to check in and make sure it was a good fit and answered all my questions about the rescue. We love our dog so much! We highly recommend everyone checks out Ginger's.

Ginger's Pet Rescue was amazing to work with. My husband and I saw a picture of our sweet pup online and felt she was meant to be ours! An added bonus was the opportunity to rescue a dog internationally. At first, we were cautious because we'd heard sometimes listings showing dogs in other states or countries needing transport can be scams. However, I looked at the reviews online and noticed that everyone who had left positive reviews had actually received a dog from them and were happy with the new addition to their family. There were plenty of those positive reviews so I sent in our application. The day after we filled it out, I heard from Sherry with the rescue and she answered all of our questions. 19 days later, I got to go pick up Koda (originally named Rodina) in Seattle after she'd made her long journey from Taiwan. We made sure she didn't respond to the name Rodina before we changed it! Understandably so, she was very nervous at first and is still quite scared of certain noises, but she is settling in well and feeling more at home. While I know she has been through so much, she is the sweetest and most gentle pup and SO eager to learn. We have had her just under 24 hours and to say we are in love already is an understatement! We were also pleased that Ginger's Pet Rescue sent us home with paperwork including vet documentation from Taiwan, training tips, and suggestions on how to make our dog feel more at home! Cannot recommend them enough.

After a few years of being on the fence, I finally saw the perfect dog on Gingers Pet Rescue. The adoption process was a little scary as it involved putting down a $500 non refundable deposit with nothing more than a few photos and a small video to go on, along with a 2 week wait for the dog to arrive from Korea. Placing a $500 gamble on a dog isn't for everyone, but the way I reasoned through it was: 1. Her breed matched my desire for a corgi and my wife's desire for a golden retriever. A dog like this just doesn't appear every day. 2. If I met her at a shelter first, she was going to be stressed out and I likely wouldn't know who she was until a few weeks after adoption. 3. If my environment wasn't suitable, someone else would be quick to adopt her. 4. The deposit was placed on a credit card, I could always do a chargeback if they didn't deliver the dog. I was able to collect the dog without a hitch, and have zero regrets. I see there are some reviews about the dogs not actually being imported from Korea, or simply being purchased from puppy mills. In my case, I saw a video with someone who sounds Korean playing with the dog, got a Korean veterinary record and have a dog that doesn't appear to understand a word of English (although she's learning new commands quickly). Based on that, I'm pretty confident that this dog wasn't local. Not that I'd care regardless, it just seems like a super weird thing to pick on. It's also worth keeping in mind that no two dogs are the same, and they'll all have a different set of problems to deal with. Whether you adopt from GPR or Seattle Humane, you're going to be running the same sort of risks. In my case, I can honestly say that GPR held up their end of the deal, and I'm now a happy owner with a happy dog.

Mabel. Just a dopey girl sitting on her dog bed.

I had such a wonderful experience adopting my girl Mabel from here. They were very responsive and friendly whenever I'd reach out (which was often). The pup I adopted had limited background information since they had just picked her up but they gave me updates as they had them and sent a bunch of pictures. You can tell that they're doing everything they can to match their dogs with the right home and also provide as much information to the humans. I'd absolutely recommend them and encourage folks to donate or volunteer with them if you can

Great Rescue, very attentive, we couldn't be Happier with our new Babies. They have already brought so much joy to our Family and we've had them for only 10 days. They came from Korea, and they are transitioning very well. So glad we could give them a forever home. Working with Sian was great, the entire group, Patti and Ginger are wonderful people, bless all of you for what you do to make sure these dogs are saved. We will keep you posted on our Babies but they are busy at the doggie salon right now.

Gingers pet rescue, thank you SO much for the most amazing dog, Sparky Meyer. Lawrence and I are so happy we saved this guy. He is the most amazing, loving and caring dog. We weren't able to meet sparky before getting him, so Cheryl was fantastic about sharing the foster program with us since we were unsure if Sparky would be the right fit. After the first time seeing him, we knew we had to have him. He goes everywhere with us-even work. Thank you so much for everyone who rescues these pups! If I could give this company 100 stars, I would. Thank you!!

    Katie S.

The amount of time and care Ginger's Pet Rescue puts into saving and adopting out these dogs is amazing. We got our beautiful boy Cooper from them and couldn't be happier! This rescue is doing amazing things. I would highly recommend adopting your new canine friend from them.

Over the next day the puppy's health deteriorated so badly that he began having seizures and foaming at the mouth. I took the puppy to the the vet and they kept him for observation and ran all the tests for diseases which all came back negative, but the vet sent him home with us saying he still didn't think something was right.
