Found my way to this location with specific model numbers I had found on line. Decided to physically go to a store vs. order on-line. So happy I did! Showed a very helpful salesman (Isiah Smith) a picture of the space of what I was looking for and he instantly showed me something he was confident would be perfect-which it was! Was able to get it installed the next day and could not be happier. So many times I order on-line only to be disappointed. Will return to Seattle Lighting for future lighting needs. Spent 20 minutes at the parts counter waiting as the attendant looked for a LED bulb. Had to return the next day as the bulb was wrong. The new counter person found the correct bulb in 5 minutes. You need to have competent people who know what they are doing behind the counter. I then purchased a dining room chandelier from a floor model and 3 weeks later the wrong one arrived. The floor model was mislabeled. The correct one was ordered and 2 weeks later was told the factory no longer made that particular model. They offered the floor model for $25 discount, ($400 chandelier) and could barely acknowledge any wrong doing on their part. By then I had moved to another city and they were going to charge me for shipping. I reminded them of what had gone wrong and they said they could ship for free. I told them at this point it wasn't worth the trouble, especially if something went wrong with the shipment or the light itself. They are the most inefficient and poorly run retail operation that I have experienced. They have no clue how to provide customer service or make something right for the customer. We went to Seattle lighting in Bellevue to get new track lighting for our kitchen remodel and our experience was nothing but the best. All our thanks goes to Cassidy Nelson due to her quick responses on phone and email, ability to make herself available at all times (honestly I haven't seen her take a day off over the last two months I've been going to her for help), patient with any type of question, and just always accommodating to our needs. Cassidy would offer the best competitive pricing which made us go back and we ended up replacing all the lighting in our home. Cassidy and Seattle lighting is the place to go for any lighting needs because of their great prices, stocked inventory, expertise, and professionalism. No sense of urgency. Retailers like this should understand that brick and mortar is dying to e-commerce. People come in a store for the showroom experience of seeing things firsthand AND customer service. This store has neither. The good news is it will likely be out of business soon and Lamps Plus can have an Eastside store. They get what it means not to tell a customer you'll go look up something because they have not a clue ( Scott) and leave a customer waiting around for 15 minutes. I had ordered 3 pendant lights online (due to covid-19) the showrooms were closed, so there were no other options. The lights were shipped to me and unfortunately, although we like the product, they are too big for our space so I will need to return them. I called for my return authorization number, and although I live in the area, I have to pay to ship them back. I'm a nurse, so I understand concerns about infection, but I do think there should be accommodations made for those who live in the area. read more

So much fun to look in, even if you're not shopping for lights. The layout of the store is fun to be in; aisles are organized by style, and the $800 crystal chandeliers are so pretty! I was looking for a ceiling light for my bathroom and I heard that Seattle lighting would be a good place to try. I was also looking for ideas for some pendant lighting to go in my kitchen. I was very pleasantly surprised with the selection available! The salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly and was very patient with me (even though I was terribly indecisive!) She showed me several ideas for my kitchen lighting I didn't realize there were so many options available!! Now I just need to decide!!! I have never received this bad a customer service at any home store as at Seattle lighting. I ordered a pendant which arrived on time. I scheduled an electrician to come and put it up however when he opened the box after getting half the work done then we found out its not the same. I took it back to the store hoping to get some sympathy from the store and getting what I wanted. Manager was extremely rude and she told me why I didn't open the box before scheduling the electrician. She obviously didn't have anything except snide comments when I asked her why they didn't check a box before delivering. Came in looking for outdoor lighting for a very old house. Not much was on display, but thankfully I was approached by Aaron Mak. He helped me make a selection online and printed off a couple of options to look over and do some measuring. Two days later I had my decision ready and tried to order online. Price online not even close to the one I was given, but after a call to Aaron, he was able to honor the original price (which incidentally had no expiration date listed on the printouts given). I was here yesterday to get a lightbulb for the first time and it will also be the last one too! Very bad customer from the snobbish stuck up lady at the reception desk! After being helped by the nice salesperson who ordered the light bulb and before I left the store I went to her to make sure whether I should pay now or when I pick up the merchandise. She said she didn't know and she paged the salesman who helped me! He came to the counter and said that I should pay now. Fine I paid and the no smile on her pretty stuck up face gave me the receipt to sign. After she ran my credit card, She put the invoice and receipt on the counter and looked away! I came in this store to shop for my lighting and I was extremely disappointed with their customer service. There was no one in customer service on the floor to greet anyone walking in or to answer any questions at all. Instead, all the customer service stands behind a desk in the back of the store and you have to wait in line to get any help or even to ask a simple question. This means that anyone needing help to pick out lighting might take a half an hour or longer to get a simple question answered. I think to help customers on the floor looking around it would be nice to have a few roaming customer service staff to greet, help answer questions and show an interest. This was truly the most unfriendly and disinterested store I've shopped in, in a very long time. I found Lamps Plus in Lynnwood to be the complete opposite with providing helpful and polite service. Just terrible. Paid for a fixture and told it would be delivered "by Monday". Heard that every time we called for the next 5 weeks. Still not arrived. The salesperson was helpful at first when we purchased lights through him and assured us that we could pick up the lights at the Seattle distribution center that he didn't have in stock on the same day. So we paid for the lights with him. My husband went there only to find out that this wasn't true- the light wasn't there and would be there until later. We called the Bellevue salesperson back and never received a return call. We won't be returning and will not refer others to this place. read more

We had an 11 year old wall sconce that stopped working due to a bad socket. I brought the fixture into Seattle Lighting in Bellevue and met with Isiah Smith who found the manufacturer and determined that the fixture was no longer being manufactured (stopped about 3 years prior). He followed up with the manufacturer and was able to have them send a replacement socket. Seattle Lighting and Isiah were very helpful and provided great customer service - not to mention that I was able to fix the old sconce for free and did not have to replace the sconce and its twin with new sconces. Walked in 10 mins after they opened, no one to greet the customers at the front door. Walked through the whole store and even saw a couple of customer service representatives and no greetings. So much bumbling for a lot of money! This certainly is NOT the Nordstrom model of customer service. All we've heard for a month is that their vendor never returns their calls but the person we placed the order with never generates a call to us. Order placed 4/2/12 turned out only partial order submitted to their vendor first 10 days, then order did arrive with some parts missing, pendant was incorrect size-their service person apparently never verifies his work. Wrong size pendant did arrive, but we've been told new pendant would be drop shipped overnight but we still don't have it. Also heard they will credit money back to our account for all the hassle we've experienced but it will take 10 days. How they managed to charge us immediately but can't either process an accurate order or process a credit back to our account timely is beyond me. I'd love to speak with their president if he/she can find the phone. (their clerk certainly hasn't been able to) I'd think you could buy your lights other places and get better service. read more

Stock was empty, once I found someone to help me that couldn't find parts and actually told me to go to another lighting store! Ridiculous. I bought a decorative tree. Since they don't have one on stock except the example, they need to get it from Portland store and will call me in 2 days once it arrived. But 5 days passed and I called them and was told they could not track where the tree was but would find out. 10 days later I called again and they told me the tree was out of stock in Portland store also but just did not get back to me. I never thought about all the lights in this world until I had a friend that worked here. I needed some so I went to check it out. Seattle Lighting has a lot of lights, of all varieties. I can't vouch for the service as I only really dealt with my friend but everybody seems nice. I got some sweet sconces and and some cans, but OMFG who would have thought lights would cost so much. The sconces weren't in the store but they also have extensive catalogs which they can order from should you not find the light of your dreams. Speaking of lights of dreams while in there my wife saw a light she loved and I got it as a birthday present. Who gets/gives a fixture as a present? If it is a swank fixture from Seattle Lighting I have no qualms whatsoever. Be warned though once you start looking into lights you can't wander anywhere without looking at the lights, and you will be forced to put a second loan on the house to pay for all of them. read more

My husband and I purchased a $2,700 lighting system from Seattle Lighting Bellevue. When it was being installed by an electrician, it became clear that necessary parts were missing and some of the parts were not for the system we ordered. When told of the problem and sent photos, Seattle Lighting agreed that some parts were incorrect and some were missing and they said they would order the correct parts. Both the electrician and my husband have been calling them for a month and always told that our salesman would call us back. No one has ever returned their calls and we have a project waiting on that lighting. I am surprised by their lack of service and unprofessional-ism, and we currently only have a very expensive bunch of parts that can not be used. read more

We needed new track lights so went out to the Bellevue store; we were there on a weekday but had to wait over 20 minutes to get help. Once we were helped, the salesman was very pleasant and knowledgeable and we ordered fixtures which would come from the warehouse the next day. They were to call us when the fixtures cam in, but never did so I finally called and we went over to get our fixtures. When we arrived, the receptionist told us to wait as she was signing on to her computer but didn't seem to be doing anything. She got our order and sent us back to customer service for the bulbs. All sales persons were occupied and two couples were waiting so we decided to leave without getting bulbs and went to a Home Depot where we were served promptly and knowledgeably. This is not a well run company. We needed 5 ceiling fans but the salesperson couldn't even give me some initial information. I was expecting him to ask me what size rooms we had, what kind of wiring was in place, what controls we wanted, what kind of look we were looking for, etc. so that he could start making recommendations. I learned more about fans by just reading the signage of the lighting aisle at a Lowes or Home Depot. Still the company had a good selection to choose from. So after I did my research online and at Home Depot and Lowes, ultimately I decided to buy from this store. Then more problems ensued. The next day, I had to change my order. The person I talked to on the phone didn't have the authority to do so. He assured me I would get a call back the next day requesting my payment info for the additional amount I was owed. No call. I followed up the next day and the person I talked to mentioned that my payment was declined. That wasn't true. I was definitely charged for the 5 fans that I had originally purchased. Then for the order change he wanted to accept payment for another ~$900 dollars when the order change really should only have been an additional ~$300. For some reason they didn't have access to what I had originally paid for each fan among other problems. I finally got the order changed. The next week I never got a call indicating that my order had arrived. So again I had to follow up myself. Finally, after installing the fans I and my electrician discovered that one was broken. I called the store asking what to do. I had just paid an average $300/fan to have them installed. I don't really feel like spending another $300 to replace a broken fan. Again I was told I could get a call back the next day and I again, I didn't receive a call. Terrible. I'll just replace the fan myself. I'm tired of dealing with this store. Came here looking for a small-size overheard light. There appear to be plenty of options in the $40-$80 range, but then when a salesperson started to help us out it turned out that only 1 of (eventually 7) designs we were possibly interested in purchasing was actually available to take home that day. The salesperson wasn't unpleasant but not particularly helpful, not making alternative suggestions or strategy for finding one that we might be able to take home- not apologetic, either. Just checking in the computer and then stating that they were not available (we didn't start by asking to check 7, it just ended up happening because so little was available). Didn't ask any information about what sort of room we were looking for or really anything to establish rapport. It started to feel insincere. Also, they had several designs out still on display that had been "discontinued" and would only be available to sell as floor models with them attached to other lamps. All in all, it felt like a waste. We wanted to try something different, to shop local, but we ended up getting everything we were looking for at Home Depot. Sad. read more
