I stopped in to drop off 12 long CFL tubes that I had fished out of a dumpster at my condo complex. These tubes contain mercury and should not be thrown in the trash. The mercury contaminates the ground water beneath the landfill. Instead, they should be recycled. Seattle Lighting is one place that accepts CFL tubes and bulbs, up to 10 per person per day(or maybe per week, I'm not sure), with a $.50 charge for each additional. But Julie, who was manning the front desk that accepts CFL tubes and bulbs, upon hearing that I had fished them out of the dumpster (as opposed to ones I owned), was gracious enough to not charge me for the extra two tubes. She was impressed with the fact that I did not leave them in the trash. And her green attitude and graciousness had impressed me to include Seattle lighting to shop for my lighting needs in the future. Thank you Julie! BTW, I have been here before to recycle CFL tubes and bulbs, with similar positive experiences with other employees. I say this to state that therefore this "green graciousness" is a pattern. I will remember this pattern when the day comes that I need to buy lighting. Nevertheless, I will not automatically expect it as $.50 charge for additional tubes over 10 per person per day/week did not seem excessive to me.

Unlike the 80's or even the 90's you got more choices than Pay N Pak, for home improvement. From Eagle to Lowes and Home Depot, you can find just about all the lighting you would desire. I had about 30 minutes before a medical appointment across the street, so I decided to pull in to see what they offered for outside dusk to dawn lighting. I have three lights that were on my house when I bought it 16 years ago. A very nice-looking light, that I actually found while shopping at Costco about 11 years ago, so I am going to assumed they carried them for years. LED lights don't last forever, and one of the lights is flickering a lot and another is starting to flicker, so I decided it was time to replace all three. I didn't see any lights that met the description, so I asked one of the people up front and he confirmed, they don't keep those lights in stock. What kind of lighting store are you, when you don't keep all kinds of lighting in stock? Truth be told, I think the lighting section at my local Lowes is larger than this store, but if your goal is to put on a glossy show for Bellevue, I don't have faith in your ability to stay in business. He offered to show me lighting online, but I can do that myself and guess what, I'm checking Amazon, before I look at your site. I did see a fixture I liked while I was there, it was a light with a sign for your house number. It was also $1,300. You must be nuts, it was cool looking, but you could put that on sale for $350 and I'm still not buying it. All of this stuff is made overseas and the fact that you are selling it for a 10x markup might make you believe it's worth it, but I suspect contractors that drive up prices and people that believe they are too good for commercial lighting like Home Depot are the ones shopping here. I guess when you are next door to Albert Lee, you can get away with that, but my ex tried to talk me into getting appliances there and I told her, why would I pay $3,500 for a fridge Costco sells for $2,200. Her reply, because the neighbors shop there. I got the fridge and got rid of the girl. Well, only a fool pays retail and regardless of how nice the staff was, I refuse to overpay. I got 3 lights from Amazon for a total of $120. I don't think I saw a single light here for that price and I'd suspect if I returned, which I won't. I'd find the light I bought on Amazon for $40 here for at least $350.

Connor was very helpful in selecting parts and setting up the project on their website (which I thought was excellent, in terms of finding parts and availability). Their prices are competitive if not superior to the big box hardware stores, and the service was more personalized. Items arrived at our home within a few days of ordering, and substantially faster than shipping for all the other suppliers for this project. Shipping was also free, unlike the other suppliers. I got 3 quotes from Yelp to trouble shoot my video doorbell problem. As the price was too good, I called the company to confirm the quote was accurate. I explained the issue to the receptionist again over the phone, and she told me it's gonna be quoted price for sure. On the day of the appointment, the electrician told me the $79 was just the trip fee, and the actual cost to fix the problem was going to be another $169. I told him my communication with the receptionist over the phone, but he simply said a receptionist can't quote for him and when I rejected the price, he left. I then called the company to talk with the receptionist about the incidence, she flat out denied ever telling me the price was $79. UPDATE: after putting up this review, I called the company again, telling them I have the screenshots of their " flat rate" quote. The company asked me to send them a photo of the screenshot and they will investigate and get back to me.I did. I didn't hear back until today, seeing bel-Red's unapologetic response below. I am downgrading my review from 2 stars to 1 star ONE MORE UPDATE: I noticed Bel-Red says there's a "previous communication "CANned" I am not sure what that means, but this is the whole communication I got.
