I was so happy with the service I received from Achene! I wanted a professional company to design and install a Christmas Light package for me. I got quotes from a number of companies and Achene's was by far the most reasonable. Additionally, I loved that I had an actual designer working to offer suggestions and design ideas based on the picture I sent them of my house. That was so helpful! They helped me pick a design I was happy with that fit my budget, and then managed to squeeze me in for an install before Thanksgiving, even though I knew they were extremely busy. The installers were friendly and professional, did great work, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been using Achene for the past 5 years to have our lights installed. This year, I was laid off in June and finances are super tight and we decided to not have our Christmas lights installed. To surprise me, my husband hired our landscaper to hang our lights. He was going to charge less than half what we normally paid. He had a card, advertising light installation and since he did such a great job on our landscaping, we assumed he knew what he was doing. Two separate days and a total of 6.5 hours, hanging, re-hanging and jerry-rigging connections, they got them hung, but incorrectly. From the master bedroom window, we could see a strand of lights doubled up and sitting in our gutter that was filled with water! They also connected a strand with an adapter and taped over the open outlets. We decided not to plug in our lights for fear of our electrical shorting out and damage to our home. I texted John Lopez with a "Hail Mary" asking for a favor if they would come and fix the problem and install our lights correctly. He responded within 24 hours and put me in touch with Devinity, who manages the scheduling. She was so kind and gracious towards me and the situation. I explained in detail what happened, and sent images. We agreed that things were messed up pretty badly. Fast forward to this week...John and his time showed up, pulled down all the lights and started over. Took them less than an hour and installed them perfectly. They also gave us a discount on the installation since we were established clients. Moral of the story...if you want it done right, have the professionals handle it. John and his team are true professionals! I am so very grateful to John, Devinity and their team for helping us out and their stellar customer service. They didn't have to do this. I mean, this is their busiest time of year. This just proves that not only do they do a thorough job, they are a business that has heart and truly cares about their customers. read more

This is our fourth season with them (Northwest Holiday Lighting) and we agree with the positive comments in other reviews. A couple of areas to point out: + Excellent service - professional, on time, quick, clean up after themselves. + Excellent final product - lighting is customized to the house, works and looks great. - Pricing (all labor) has increased every year, which makes us question continuing the service. - Their emails are a bit excessive in the late Fall as they try to drum up business for the coming season. read more

I have used NHL for years and kept them because installation was reasonable and have recommended them on several sites. As years transpired, the installs were getting very expensive and the person who used to do the installations left. I decided to do the yard myself because cost quoted was way too much and it took me only 2 hours. I finally got an agreement for them to install just the lights on my house, this year, they gave me a quote which was competitive with another provider and NHL told me they would replace my lights. When they came to the house to install and told me it would be 28% more cost which is ridiculous considering all I have been putting up with on quality of the lights for several years. I am very disappointed with NHL because the lights they purchased for me were defective and instead of replacing these, they just replaced bulbs as they went out. This caused me to always have 'bulb outages' on my display every year because they could not have someone watching my house 24X7. I am going with a different service provider which I will put in a review when their install is done. This was very poor customer service. read more

We began with Yuriy several years ago and the service was very good. We skipped a few years of hanging lights since we would be away for the holidays. This year Yuriy sent me his estimate of $400 which I agreed to and set a date on his calendar. If you hang in Oct. there was always a discount of 10%, this was not reflected in the estimate so I inquired. Yuriy answered that this discount would already be calculated within my estimate, further the date the online calendar did allow me to select, Yuriy says isn't available and that only the 19th of Oct. would be. We agreed and we waited all day setting the container outside as per previous years. Finally around 4:30pm on that Saturday someone named John called to say he was on his way. I had always had Yuriy in the past so this was new. We waited and then John called back asking me to call him, I did and he didn't pick up. He arrived, parking in our fire lane, when we brought to his attention he can be ticketed he said " I won't get a ticket!" While spitting his sunflower seeds out, not moving his truck out of the fire lane. We went over how it has been installed previously. This is where it became a more unpleasant experience, as John then began trying to up-sell us, when we had already approved the estimate Yuriy sent and agreed upon. It became apparent that he was not going to hang the lights without somehow charging us more. I asked if he could have Yuriy follow up with me....Yuriy has not. My phone call was not answered nor my email. Not sure what's changed over the years but this is no longer the level of customer service we have enjoyed previously. read more

Northwest Holiday Lighting has been doing our Christmas lights since we moved into our house. They are always extremely reliable, do an amazing job and are so quick you barely know they are there. They put them up and then after the holidays they come and take them down and you store them yourself for the year. We've been working with Yuriy and his team since 2012 and, because of them, our home always looks spectacular in the winter. They came out and worked with us on the type of lighting - incandescent vs. LED. They custom-cut the light strands once they were delivered (we chose LED - more expensive but longer-lasting and more energy-efficient). They provided storage bins for the lights that we keep at our home but that they pack and unpack each year as part of the service. They've helped us upgrade over the years--adding more strands and changing colors as we like. They insure power access and timer set-up. Each install and removal is arranged in advance by phone--we don't have to remember anything. Any maintenance has been free and guaranteed. They hang and remove the lights quickly, quietly and professionally. They've even brushed out the gutters while they were up there! Although it's slightly more than I'd like to spend, the fact that I don't have to climb up on that 2-storey, 47-degree pitched roof in the winter helps to make the charge well-worth it. I can't recommend this group highly enough. If you'd like to stay out of the weather and still have your home look festive, warm and inviting during the Holiday season, bring Northwest Holiday Lights by for their work. We've used NW Holiday Lights for the past two years and are very satisfied with them. We requested an early installation so they installed the lights on Halloween both times and removed them in early January. Yuriy and Vitaly are very prompt at returning messages and replace burned out bulbs the same day or the next day after I text them.
