Ran into Derek in the parking lot at Shilshole Bay Marina while he was on a job and he was courteous and took his time to answer my questions. Before I was a customer he had already developed a good rapport. His prices are very competitive while the quality is equal to or better than other subsurface services I have used in the past. The communication is very good with this company. I am impressed with how they run the business. I received a reminder of the upcoming scheduled inspection and then afterwords an invoice with the link to easily pay and a link to a video inspection of the work after it was completed. They are very well organized to be be able to deliver such service at such rates. I wanted to take a moment to praise Derek Voelker and his Seattle Dive Company. We own a houseboat on Lake Union and needed to coordinate a underwater dive inspection to get it prepared for a sale. We had to do the coordination while still in Germany. Derek worked with us to insure the dive could take place while juggling his calendar, that of our tenant, and ours. The day of the dive Derek and his coworker were very professional and made recommendations that would insure the boat stayed safe in the water. I recently had picked up a line in one of my props in Lake Washington... and limped back to the dock on a Sunday evening before Labor Day. First thing Monday morning (Labor Day), I looked for a diver to remove the lines from the prop and shaft. I noticed that Seattle Dive Company seemed to be open 7X24 so I called. Derek answered the phone and we quickly found a convenient time when he could meet me at the boat Derek showed up right at our scheduled day/time and got the job done efficiently. When you own a floating home (as we do), finding a plumber who also dives is a huge benefit! Derek and William have become indispensable on our dock for an assortment of jobs. I had my first opportunity to hire these guys when strong winds pushed our house into a dock line and broke off a hose bib, forcing us to turn off water to 15 houses and 8 boats. Aaargh! William came right out and fixed it. Plus, he's a very nice and interesting guy to chat with. Immediately thereafter I had some discussions with Derek about putting spring lines on our house to prevent future such mishaps. Derek of Seattle Dive represented about as honest a business as they come. Hourly rates were comparable, but with several other boats in the marina learning of the services he provided he offered us a group discount. I think in total Derek worked on 7 or 8 in our marina and all good feedback to me. (asking them to post a yelp) In my case, when servicing my boat's anodes he found several in great shape for which he offered to change but also advised they were in very good condition and would last another year in our waters. I followed his advice and he 'cleaned' off the anode surface. They provide a video of the hull and their work so you get to actually see the work accomplished. read more

Seattle Dive Company cleaned my hull and rudder for a second time this May 2021. They cleaned the hull two years ago (Covid interrupted boat use for 2020.) I have a Com Pac 23 sailboat. I am completely satisfied and happy with their work. SDC is easy to contact, responds quickly, schedules your hull cleaning without long waiting delays, does a great and thorough job, provides a brief description of hull/paint condition, and billing/payment is easy online. For the first time I used a dive company to clean my boat bottom and check the anodes. The work and customer service were excellent. They provide a nice video of what they saw and did.
