When preparing to purchase black out shades for the main bedroom, I had in-home consultations with three local companies. Anchor Blinds was the third consultation I received. The contrast in professionalism, knowledge level and communication was striking between Anchor Blinds and the two prior companies. I love my new black out HoneyComb shades--made by Hunter Douglass and come with a seven year warranty. Should I have a problem, they will be serviced locally thru Anchor Blinds-- which is comforting. A shout out to Taylor Vo (consultant) and Wyman (installer) for the wonderful service!

Customers should thoroughly check deliverables and be prepared for a rocky experience. Even after 9 months of back and forth, replacements and multiple re-installations not all of our issues are fixed yet. Customer service at the University Village location and quality control by Shade Store are a nightmare. We remodeled a mid-century home designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright looking for a well designed, high quality product. Jason Mathews at the University Village Shade Store in Seattle was assigned to work with us. We spent close to $20K on curtains and hardware expecting quality deliverables and excellent service. However curtains and hardware had to be reinstalled despite correct measurements multiple times due to factory errors and incorrect orders by Jason Mathews. Even today despite our complaints there are curtains patched together out of multiple panels indicating a lack of good workmanship and factory quality control. Other larger panels are delivered as a single piece just to note. Overall from order to installation it took us over 9 month to get close to completion. We had to contact the store, i.e. Jason often multiple times to point out discrepancies, issues and ask for replacements. We would like to mention that the installation crews are excellent and very helpful in pointing out deficiencies and errors. Unfortunately this doesn't make the process less painful. We are still waiting for our last issue to be addressed but have low confidence in customer service and their commitment to follow up.

Their quote came in significantly higher than any other companies I spoke with, but nothing about the proposal made me feel it was worth that kind of premium...Once I started comparing options side by side, Wessco just did not seem competitive in terms of value, functionality, or overall solution. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying more for quality when the difference is obvious. In this case though, the pricing felt hard to justify, especially when other vendors were offering stronger smart-home integration and more compelling options and discounts overall. The interaction itself was not terrible, but the quote made the decision easy. I moved on quickly and focused on companies that offered a better balance of cost and value. Definitely get multiple quotes before making a decision, because the pricing differences between companies can be pretty eye opening.

Their showroom…read moreis great, their sales people are top notch, Lance in particular is super nice and great to work with. And we've always had a great experience with the installers as well. We purchased manual shades for our upstairs and our basement but unfortunately decided to get the Hunter Douglas Automated shades for our main floor. After almost a decade of trouble shooting, installing new battery packs and motors I think it's more than safe to say they are complete garbage. Recently when we had a tech out to install all new parts on our automated shades. Wessco gave us free labor for the motor install but the technician only installed 3 of the 4 motors. We also purchased new battery packs as well. The technician said that after installing all new parts if we still continue to have issues to come into the store and get a new hub. . Well, lo and behold, installing all new parts did absolutely nothing with the new parts they gave us. They fell off the network and I've had to go back and reset everything again. I work in tech so I don't mind troubleshooting things but these shades are horrible. I called this week to see about the refund on the fourth motor, and to see if I could get a new hub since we still continue to have issues with the shades. Kami said she has no record of the motor not getting installed and told me that if I want a new hub it will be another $300 charge. Maybe it's just me but if I spend about $10,000 with Wessco for extremely subpar product, I would look into comping the new hub a staff member offered to me. Thanks for the memories, Wessco. Shades.com is our future from now on.

I interacted with many companies before awarding the project and Aysel was class apart in her professionalism and creativity. Her contractor (Serhat) was also extremely professional, skillful and courteous and it was a great experience working with both of them. Aysel sourced the parts from Europe. It is simply impossible to get a response from this business no matter how you try to reach out. While we had a few different quotes from other businesses we could have gone with, following Daniel's in-person visit we figured we'd give Seattle Custom Blinds. Big. Mistake. From then on things quickly went downhill. It took several months before our simple project was finally completed and nearly 100 emails until I finally had my blinds installed. And that's not to mention the several incorrectly placed orders that continuously delayed things. We gave them as much slack as humanly possible the entire time but they took advantage of that and every day that went by it seemed like they were actively trying to find new ways to waste my time. When it was all said and done, I ended up being the one having to install the smart integration myself since Seattle Custom Blinds apparently couldn't quite figure out how to order the necessary parts (I had paid for) from whoever their supplier was. Mind you... them offering that as part of the package was one of the reasons why I chose to give them the business. It has been a few months since we FINALLY got our blinds installed but I'm leaving this review now because the remote that came with them broke and I wanted to grab a new one so I have been trying to get in touch with them and what do you know? Zero response! Our blinds had a lot of minor issues following the installation and I honestly didn't even bother trying to get a response from Daniel since I am convinced they will never respond to former customer emails after our experience with them. Seriously... there are many other blind installers in our area. Most are very professional. The majority will carry the exact same product or better. They will likely not mess up your order 100 times for no apparent reason. And I guarantee they will all be more responsive and easy to work with. So do yourself a favor and go with any other option out there.
