A DEMOLISHING COMPANY WITH A HEART!…read more I can't say enough good things about Affordable Environmental, the owner Tony Chase, and his work crew. I've been trying off and on to leave a review and finally figured it out. In Spring 2023, Tony was hired to demolish a condemned 1930's farm house on my property that needed to come down. Everything was done on time, responsibly, and by the book, with asbestos abatement included. All for a very competitive price. And then the big twist happened, which really confirmed Tony's stellar reputation: After being told by the asbestos workers that there may be an old log cabin underneath the farm house, Tony took his time and "skinned" the side off, rather than just demolishing everything. He was able to do so because he is very skilled with a track hoe; it was like watching an artist at work! And sure enough, underneath was a solid log cabin structure that our local historical society estimates to be an old logging cabin from circa 1870's. Intact cabins like this are very hard to find and a historic preservationist is currently conducting research to confirm the age and ownership. But Affordable Environmental, aka Tony Chase, didn't stop there. Tony felt very strongly about keeping this historic find safe during the winter so it wouldn't deteriorate. He volunteered the materials and staff time to construct a roof structure, wrap the building in plastic, and install one of his own large dehumidifiers to keep it dry inside. And it's working! Research on this historic logging cabin can continue and perhaps grants can be found to preserve the structure for the long term. Thank you Tony Chase and the AE crew!

On top of the process got us back to somewhat normal living within three months of the damage, all during COVID. Only complaint was something unavoidable and that was the noise of all the drying equipment. That went on for two weeks!

The good: they did a great job remediating water damage to our kitchen during Covid. It happened in…read moreFebruary and they handled demolition and dry out efficiently. The bad: demanded final payment without ever bothering to do a closing inspection on the remodel. Would you be shocked to know they couldn't be bothered to do the inspection after they got paid? This was under the old owner. By the time we discovered they never bothered to reconnect the HVAC under the kitchen or install the floor insulation it was too late to force them to do the work. The only time they returned my calls after that was when their plumber's work failed (he cut the fittings too short under the sink) and we called to have someone assess whether we needed more remediation. Thanks to LVP floors we did not. Would they identify the plumber who did the faulty work? They would not. That cost $400+ to fix but could have been thousands. That was the new owner, whose employee also tried to pass the remediation certificate of completion off as a remodel certificate of completion - I never signed that because they had not finished work at the time the document was emailed to me. I wouldn't use them again.
