I do plan on being back and hope to go each month. Regarding the appearance...like many NYC buildings, the outside looks rough but inside was very nicely done. The room I was in was a perfect temperature, well-equipped, and had soothing music during my massage. Don't judge the quality by the appearance of the outside.

Went there yesterday. At first, they were going to give me a male masseuse. He was nice enough to…read moresense my discomfort at the thought of a dude's hands on me, and got me a lady - a rather beautiful lady named Mimi. It was the best massage, I think, I've ever had. Mimi was very thorough and worked hard (with those tiny Chinese fingers) to relieve every single muscle in my body. In fact, one of my knees was sore beforehand, and had been for a couple of days, but honestly when the massage was finished no more soreness and it still feels well today. After reading some of the negative reviews I realize that the uptight women who wrote them have obviously never had a Chinese massage, and should probably loosen up, or go to a Christian massage place (if one exists) and stop judging the Chinese.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I went to the spa for a massage. During the massage, the…read morepressure was much more painful than I expected. I repeatedly asked the massage therapist to go lighter because the pressure was causing discomfort, but the massage continued to be painful. Before the massage, I did not have the level of back pain that I experienced afterward. Since the massage, my back has been hurting significantly. After the massage ended, I attempted to leave. I told the staff that I would send a tip once I got home because I wanted time to decide how much I wanted to give. The first woman at the spa continued pressuring me to send the tip immediately and would not accept that I planned to do it after leaving. She showed me a QR code for a Zelle payment and instructed me to send the tip through it. I attempted to leave the spa after this continued pressure, but I was then followed outside by a second woman. I again explained that I would send the tip when I got home, but she would not accept that. She insisted that I send the tip immediately and asked me to show her proof that I had done so. I sent a $30 tip through Zelle using the QR code provided by the first woman. After I showed the second woman proof of the $30 payment, she insisted that I had not sent it and attempted to use my phone herself to send an additional $30 payment. I took my phone back before she could complete the additional payment. The entire interaction made me feel extremely pressured and uncomfortable. I felt like I was not free to leave without providing a tip, and the Zelle payment was not given voluntarily. I did not know whose Zelle account I was sending money to; I was only provided a QR code and instructed to make the payment. Strangest and worst experience I've ever had getting a massage.

STAY AWAY. I had what was easily the worst massage of my life here…read more Earlier in the day, I specifically called and requested Tony. I was told that wouldn't be a problem. When I arrived for my 9 PM appointment, a woman walked into the room instead. I asked if Tony was available, and she responded with something I couldn't understand before immediately beginning the massage by wrapping my head in a towel with the force of someone trying to start a lawn mower. I genuinely thought my earrings were about to be ripped out of my ears. I asked her within the first 5m to go softer, but the pressure wasn't even the main issue - it felt like she wasn't actually working on my muscles. Somehow she managed to spend an hour pounding on bones I didn't even know could be massaged, including my tailbone and elbows. To be fair, even if she had reduced the pressure, she was still working all the wrong places. The entire massage felt less like bodywork and more like being attacked by a hundred tiny crabs while an angry toddler threw bricks at me. I spent the session counting down the minutes until it was over. Every time she finished one body part, I felt relieved simply because that meant we were closer to being done. All the movements weren't slow and calm; they were quick, frightening, and aggressive. I had hot stones as a part of my treatment, but her carelessness throughout the regular massage portion made me terrified of what the hot stones were going to be like (thankfully, they were a normal hot stone temperature). I was visibly uncomfortable the entire time - wincing, flinching, and even making noises because the massage hurt. I've never spent an entire massage staring at the clock and mentally calculating how much longer I had to survive. Usually massages make you lose track of time. This one made every minute feel like an hour. I left feeling more stressed and sore than when I arrived. I've had many massages over the years, and this was by far the most uncomfortable, painful, and disappointing one I've ever received. The fact that I specifically requested a particular therapist, was told that request would be honored, and then received a completely different therapist only made the experience worse. The attached photo shows a text message they sent me 16m into the appointment, as well as my response when I saw it later, and their unprofessional "ok" response...
