Massage therapists, who are uniformly skilled and very personable, specialize in walking on your back, an amazing experience that everyone should try at least once. (On the ceiling over each table are "monkey bars" that the therapist uses for balance and control). Should you prefer, the therapist will keep massage to hands only. Consider asking for a stretching massage, which is more akin to applied yoga. Another favorite is the extra-hot towel massage, where the therapist covers your back with a fresh dry towel, followed by a super-hot wet towel, covered with a third layer dry towel. While your back bakes in comfortable, full-body heat, the therapist walks on your back, moving quickly, each step pressing high heat to your back. Amazing! The spa welcomes men and women alike and all rooms offer privacy. The owner (who is also a skilled therapist!) endeavors to keep clients apart from each other, so no uncomfortable moments in common areas. Finally, at $75 for a full hour, the price is right. Sure, there are cheaper places that pack in clients, forcing them to lie on tables inches apart, but Heaven Spa, with its emphasis on privacy and cleanliness, and its friendly therapists, is well worth the money.

When we came in and said that was what we wanted they escorted us to the back to a table for a massage. I said to the women again, I wanted the foot massage. So at this point we felt trapped and like we couldn't leave as they forced us to the back area of this establishment. We laid down for our massage, and enjoyed the actual massage. It seemed like Paul actually understood the body, and it did feel good. At the end of the massage they asked us if we wanted our feet done in addition to the hour we just got. We said yes.... thinking it would be an additional $10/15 in addition to the $30. We met the lady and man who did our massages at the front after and she said $120 for both. Well that was quite different than what we came in and asked for $30/hr x 2 = $60. I tried to explain to the 4 people standing in the front that we came in and asked for the foot massage and they gave us NO choice but to do what they wanted. All I wanted was an acknowledgement. They all pretended that they had no idea what my husband and I were saying. And we both felt completely taken advantage of. Shame on you. I am the type of customer that repeats and tells others. I rarely leave bad reviews, but you may be taken advantage of if you come here.

This place is amazing if you're in need of a relaxing foot massage!…read more After running around all day in heels, I was relieved to be heading back to my hotel to shower and relax. But then it dawned on me that I remembered seeing a foot massage spot just a few doors down and decided that might be the perfect way to end my day! I walked in around 8pm without and appointment and luckily they were able to take me immediately. The seating for a foot massage is in an open area with soft, plush leather seats that are so easy to sink into. Once seated, they'll wash your feet and then begin the massage. I booked a foot reflexology massage for 60 mins. It was $45 and was absolutely amazing! Considering how expensive things are these days, I thought that was overall a great deal! The folks that work here are so nice and I was so insanely relaxed and at ease here. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Recommending Renewing Spa to everyone !!…read more I had things to do in Midtown NYC so that I thought it would be nice to have great massage, picked this place through Yelp with many outstanding 5 star reviews and so glad I came. It's too bad I live in Boston. I appreciate Renewing Spa and all reviewers. I walked into this place without appointment, buzzed me in up to 2nd floor. Immediately 2 staffs welcomed me very warmly, great sign of natural accommodation. I felt very comfortable right away. I have been to uncountable massage parlors for over the 30 years but this was the most homey trust feeling I got. They are very down to the Earth, helped me for charging 2 phones before the massage. They sent me Mia. Actually we never spoke any words. Her hands and elbows goes straight to the acupressure points, literally head to toes with exact right amount of pressure. She is very hard working. I didn't have to request anything. I realized her way is real treatment. It's my favorite style, next day I had slight soreness in the morning and later on the day I felt amazing whole body. She gave me most effective techniques and got rid of all of my problems. Unbelievable talent. After massage, staffs told me there is grand master teacher taught all workers in their all (4?) branches. This is treasure old school Chinese system, it reminds me martial art tradition. We are lucky to have this in USA, we need to support this forever. Did I mention great rate and points card for free treatment ? 謝謝 !!

I immediately got happy because I myself love a great foot massage. She went to the one in Queens now I don't know Queens it is very confusing lol so I googled it and found that they had other locations one in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan. I decided to go to the one in Manhattan on 14th St. And immediately booked my appointment :) I went in for the one hour foot massage that was priced at $45 online. It was very easy to get there. I took the number three train to 14th St., and then a six minute walk. My appointment was set for 10:30 AM. I got there about 15 minutes early and it seemed like I was the only one there. Upon entering the atmosphere is extremely clean, and there was Zen music playing. I greeted the man at the front desk and he did the same and he told me to have a seat in any chair. I did just that then got comfortable. The masseuse brought out a huge basin of water to quickly soak my foot in then he began to work half an hour, each foot and calf. It was very relaxing. I then decided to go on Yelp to check in. After I did it said I get a free 10 minute massage The guy who worked on my feet asked me if I wanted a back massage or another foot massage so I guess you have a choice. I told him a back massage and he placed the chair for me to sit and place my head in what I call the donut hole lol. This was done after my hour 60 minute foot rub. At the end of the foot massage I got a nice hot stone foot and calf rub which was fantastic. At the end of it all I went to go and pay, and I saw on there price list the 60 minute foot rub was $47 so I pulled up their website and I showed them that it says 45 online. She told me $45 in cash $47 by using card so I used my card since I didn't walk with any cash so keep that in mind. I definitely recommend this spot. I'm glad that my friend found it and I followed suit. I will be making this a monthly thing. I can't wait to go back again. So don't hesitate to check them out.

STAY AWAY. I had what was easily the worst massage of my life here…read more Earlier in the day, I specifically called and requested Tony. I was told that wouldn't be a problem. When I arrived for my 9 PM appointment, a woman walked into the room instead. I asked if Tony was available, and she responded with something I couldn't understand before immediately beginning the massage by wrapping my head in a towel with the force of someone trying to start a lawn mower. I genuinely thought my earrings were about to be ripped out of my ears. I asked her within the first 5m to go softer, but the pressure wasn't even the main issue - it felt like she wasn't actually working on my muscles. Somehow she managed to spend an hour pounding on bones I didn't even know could be massaged, including my tailbone and elbows. To be fair, even if she had reduced the pressure, she was still working all the wrong places. The entire massage felt less like bodywork and more like being attacked by a hundred tiny crabs while an angry toddler threw bricks at me. I spent the session counting down the minutes until it was over. Every time she finished one body part, I felt relieved simply because that meant we were closer to being done. All the movements weren't slow and calm; they were quick, frightening, and aggressive. I had hot stones as a part of my treatment, but her carelessness throughout the regular massage portion made me terrified of what the hot stones were going to be like (thankfully, they were a normal hot stone temperature). I was visibly uncomfortable the entire time - wincing, flinching, and even making noises because the massage hurt. I've never spent an entire massage staring at the clock and mentally calculating how much longer I had to survive. Usually massages make you lose track of time. This one made every minute feel like an hour. I left feeling more stressed and sore than when I arrived. I've had many massages over the years, and this was by far the most uncomfortable, painful, and disappointing one I've ever received. The fact that I specifically requested a particular therapist, was told that request would be honored, and then received a completely different therapist only made the experience worse. The attached photo shows a text message they sent me 16m into the appointment, as well as my response when I saw it later, and their unprofessional "ok" response...
