Seaside installed our HVAC system in 2019. We had a very bad experience with the install. Since then we have had numerous issues with the system. Last week the heating malfunctioned again. Tech comes in and takes a look and says he needs to talk to his sup. No heat in 40 degree weather with two kids and we have to make do with space heaters. Sup calls on Friday and says they need to " think" over solution. It has already been 3 days with no heat. Since that , 4 days have past with no updates. When I call today there are no notes from Tech and lady on phone says she has no Freaking clue of our issue and " will get back". A week with no heat in record low temps and this SHAM OF A COMPANY needs to be put out of business read more

This is the second time that we've used Seaside and the second time that they excelled. My friend was selling his condo and needed to replace the heater to complete the sale. They warned me that that they were booked out a month and that they wouldn't be able to meet our 17-day window, but that they would come out and take a look. Ryan arrived on time and was able to find a hole in his schedule to get the heater installed. Sure enough, they called us a week later and we were able to schedule the service. Steve, Steven, and Christian got us squared away, cleaned up and hauled away the old heater. They were great company during the project and the heater was so quiet. Here is what you can expect based on my unfortunate experience. 1. The estimate that was given does not include everything necessary for a complete installation, I can only guess this is how they stay competitive with their pricing . 2. Multiple service calls due to installation related workmanship and to address missing items that were not included in the original estimate that you will now need to pay for . 3. Customer service is not a concept in their business philosophy or returning phone calls when asked for a supervisor to return your call . 4. Will not stand behind their product or honor the manufacturer warranty. Once they have your money, the service also ends . My new central A/ C didn't last 2 years , Seaside Heating & Air said there was a leak in the system and billed me $400 for the coolant with no intention of fixing the problem . Seaside deserves No Stars! They sent the Tech. He checked out my Compressor and said it was leaking Freon, which I have no doubt. It's an old unit. He then checked the "heat" part (furnace) and said it looked good. Does not need replacement. He told me he would go back to the office and send me an estimate for replacement. This was on a Monday. I waited a couple days and called their office. They said the Tech was not in that day but they would follow up with him. I waited a few more days and called back again since I didn't hear from them. They again said they would follow up. I still have not heard anything from this company. They charged me $120. Alas, for no reply or response? I had another company come out. They gave me an estimate quickly and indicated that my entire system needs replacing. This second company also found a piece of the compressor laying the ground. It should have been put back in the box where he took it out of. To me that all totals up to sloppy work and lack of concern for the customer. Me! Don't waste your time with them. I'm sure there are much better HVAC companies out there. read more

Initially my experience was very good with this company, office was responsive and informative. My job was small ( charge a mini-split with refrigerant) however they agreed to do the job because of my proximity to their shop. When tech arrived he didn't ask many questions and neither did I since I assumed he had notes passed on from the office. Long story short he released the refrigerant from the system before pressure testing and it let all the refrigerant out because there was a leak. The kinked line was not their fault but I think he should have tested the lines before letting the refrigerant out. I understood that the tech that was sent out doesn't repair line sets, that's ok. I followed up to make a return appointment for the repair of the line and recharge again. The appointment was a week out which was understandable. Here is my biggest complaint, the day before my new appointment the office called to reschedule for a few days later stating the tech that was scheduled wasn't qualified for the repair. I accepted that because I just wanted it done correctly. The new appoint was set for arrival a few days later between 8am-12pm, 10:30 am arrrived I called just to make sure that I had the date right. The office lady didn't reply to me and nervously put me on hold, the owner answered and said that the guy they scheduled this time couldn't handle the job either. Said I would get a call back at some point from another tech. Never heard anything back. No apology for stringing me along for two weeks,nothing! Forgot to mention this minisplit unit is in an adu for my elderly parents who really needed the ac. Putting things together( heat just started) it is apparent that the company got busy with higher paying jobs.That part is understandable, but why not call back or initially just say they can't do the job? That is just not good business practice. read more

He took 30 minutes to isolate the problem, he had the replacement part with him and got the AC unit back up and running within an hour total cost $190. This review is based on first impressions only. I called Saturday morning, and left a message with what appeared to be their answering service. They said someone will return my call on Monday morning. On Monday, mid-morning, I called back since no one returned my call. A young lady by the name of "Molly" said: "were inundated with work, will put you on the list, and call you back when we get a chance." Unfortunately that response won't work for me, so I decided to find another company more responsive to customer needs. I'm sure this company does good work since they were recommended by another HVAC company, but they need to improve on first impressions because, in my opinion, that's a significant factor future customers rely on when deciding whether to do business with a company. AN EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR OUR NEW HVAC SYSTEM We finally decided to add AC to our townhouse in Carmel Valley and used YELP to help us find highly rated suppliers of HVAC systems and selected three to consider, used personal references who used the suppliers to down-select to two suppliers, Seaside Heating & Air Conditioning and Scotty's Heat & Air. Both suppliers came to my home to conduct site surveys; the first being Tony Arena (Seaside) and then Scotty (Scotty's). While both gentlemen were professional in their work and were able to issue quotations on the spot, I found the detailed explanations and discussion of available options to be more thorough with Tony Arena. Further, Tony Arena focused on how we would use the A/C system and that helped him to optimize the size and offered manufacturer for the A/C unit. Tony Arena also took me through cost calculations for electrical power usage for different size options (2.5 ton versus 3.0 ton) based on how we planned to use the A/C. There was no question Tony could not answer and to do a deep dive on any technical issue. Tony Arena also offered a very interesting (low cost) upgrade option for us to replace the furnace as our existing furnace was ~20 years old. He also smartly suggested we replace the grills on the walls to increase air flow throughout our home at an amazing price, Tony also was focused on continuing communications and follow-up via calls and text messages and he seemed to be available all day and night. I run global sales organizations and I would rate Tony's sales professionalism as EXPERT and PERFECT! IMPORTANTLY, the price difference between Seaside and Scotty's was 42%!! YES, 42%!?!?!? Part of this delta was, of course, Tony Arena's focus on what was important to us and how we would use the AC system. We had the new A/C + new Furnace + new Grills + NEST smart thermostat installed yesterday and the two installers that showed up, Ryan and Tyler were simply AMAZING, PROFESSIONAL and very ACCOMMODATING! Their teamwork was EXEMPLARY!! They showed up at 9:00 AM and were finished with the complete install around 2:30 and worked non-stop; they did not even take a lunch break. It was HOT yesterday and they never slowed due to the heat, working outside to install the unit and to connect the power and in the attic to install the rest of the HVAC system. Finally they cleaned up their work perfectly. We LOVE Seaside HVAC in Oceanside! We met with several prior to hiring this company to meet all of our needs in Encinitas. I run a clinic and we have had to replace 3 of the 4 units initially installed. I've worked with Manager Ryan for over a year, who is totally professional, always works around our crazy schedule, gives us competitive pricing and helps us with getting a crew out to our site several times to troubleshoot issues and provide us with a quote. Always prompt, and accommodating to our special situation with respect to scheduling appointments at certain times of day. Mark, the very professional, amiable, and competent service tech, was immediately able to diagnosed our problem with the heater--it was causing a strange pulsating/scraping sound whenever the heater would engage. Indeed, the draft inducing fan motor and wheel needed replacing. Mark returned the next morning with the replacement parts and installed them expeditiously and for a reasonable price. Now our heater that's over 20 years old, runs smoothly and quietly again. We will absolutely continue to utilize their services in the future. I want to point out all the staff at Surfside Heating and Air. From Ruth who took my call and arranged to have a technician respond and my very knowledgable service technician Nick. Nick showed up around 0800, I was the first customer of the day. Within minutes Nick assessed the problem. a capacitor blew. He replaced the capacitor and prior to his leaving, the AC, which is a relatively new Carrier unit, was blowing deliciously cool air. I am beyond pleased. Honesty, Quality Service and Fair prices, are the hallmark of any successful business. In my estimation, Surfside Heating and Air exemplifies all of this and more. I wish to elaborate on my position with these facts by describing a recent experience with another HVAC company. A few days prior to Surfside coming out, I called Mauzy Heating and Air. A technician from Mauzy responded, went up into the attic, after a few minutes came down and immediately told me the bad news by explaining my furnace was burned out. He showed me pictures of a scorched circuit board and claimed I was in danger of starting a fire in the attic if I turned the unit on. I was told it would cost $16K, yes, sixteen thousand dollars, to replace my furnance and install all new air ducts. I was told the air ducts were torn and ripped and I was not getting any airflow. I was pressured to agree to the deal and finance the 16k installation costs through Mauzy's lender, but I only had five days to act, or the quote was stale. Nick, from Seaside told me he found no evidence of any of the above described issues. Nick from Seaside told me my furnace was in good condition, as was my air ducts, there was no tears or damage. He said he could not fathom or even consider in good conscience telling or charging a homeowner that kind of money for a repair that didn't need to be done. There are so many repair options to consider before purchasing a new furnace. The Mauzy technican clearly attempted to defraud me. A word of caution, get more than one estimate. And if you do need HVAC service, the first call you should make is to Seaside Heating and Air. Thank you Nick and Ruth! Installed a new furnace but when I got home it wasn't working. Very disappointing. After waiting over a week for installation and several days and nights of cold, they come and leave a non-working system for me to figure out. Not only that, making the appointment with this company was infuriating. I set an appointment for a specific day and then confirmed a day before the appointment and they denied we ever spoke to them. To make matters worse, they installed a defective circuit board and did not have a replacement available, adding three more days of no heat in the house. Really a completely negative experience. So first off let me tell you that for the last year in our office when we use the A/C water rains down from the ceiling like our own little personal office fountain. this last month though it had become a nuance and a small lake . It had seemed our regular A/C guy had been stringing us along for quite sometime. We called a few places and these guys were able to come out the next day and take a look at our A/C unit and hopefully fix our issue. David cane out the next day and we showed him were the issue was. BOOM ... no longer then 5-10 minutes and the problem was fixed. Our little office fountain was no more. David took the time to explain why and how to fix it for the future. I last used Charlie and Seaside about 14 years ago when they installed an A/C unit in a house I owned in Carlsbad. I have since moved away, but my elderly in-laws still live in the area. They have been having issues with their a/c and didn't know who to call. I was able to reach Charlie and he handled it the next day. Although they have a very old unit (it has been there at least the 20+years since they moved in), Charlie and Seaside was able to get in running again by simply cleaning "a very dirty" Condenser. These guys gave a good price quote, but have been super flaky ever since. I booked and install 2 1/2 weeks out, I was called a week later, saying they would have to bump me another week. Then was called back and told the guys would be at my house 2 days earlier than we agreed on, didn't even ask if I would be available. I rearranged my schedule to be home. Hired to diagnose why ac was not working after ten minutes he calls to tell me the coils are leaking and there is no freon in the system, but he can fix for 1700.....the coil was replaced less than four years ago, so decided to call someone else. Paid someone else 95 to actually diagnose, and they found no leak at all in the coil, it does have rust but said near the ocean that will happen in less than a year, but no leak..... so I would not recommend using this company unless you want to be scammed.....I did ask for a refund and was told not to contact him or he would report me...... terrible business practices!!!! read more

Called at 8am this morning, when my residential a/c unit stopped working at 11pm last night, on the eve of the most hottest days of the year to come. Molly, who answered the phone, said she would call back in 10 minutes, which she did, and informed me that a tech ( Anthony) was already on his way. When i arrived home, he was able to diagnose and fix the problem within 45 minutes of arriving. After first consulting with Tony, we decided to go with the 3.5 ton system along with a replacement for our 40+ year old furnace.
