I paid them $2000.00 to fix the heater in my 2010 Ford F150 on June 26th of this year (I know it was getting hot and why did I need it. I had the money to fix it and didn't want to be without it come winter) So I took Stan's word based on a recommendation from my neighbor (we just moved here and didn't know anyone yet) and moved forward with him to do the work believing I would get a properly functioning heater back for that amount of money. That's not what happened. After his crew removed the whole inside of my truck. seats, console, dashboard, replaced 4 actuators and put it all back together; what I got was a truck with heat that only works on the max setting of 90 degrees and on only the driver's side. Cold air blows out of the passenger side He said he would take care of it when he found a control head and besides, I don't need heat right now anyway. Okay sounds good. (Not sure why he didn't check out the control head when he "diagnosed" the problem for 2k but I guess that's on me?? According to him it was because he couldn't locate the part) After giving him a couple of months and not hearing from him I emailed a couple of times with no response so I called him to see if he could finish the job that I paid for and he basically told me there was nothing he could do for me since he couldn't find the part. When I pushed back and said I needed the heater to work right he got loud and went all Tony Soprano on me. A complete 180 from the nice smiling guy I had met and hired to do a job for me before I paid the 2k and got back a truck with a half a^* working heater. I can hear him laughing to his crew when I was driving away "Well boys, there's one born every minute" So just beware when dealing with this guy and his shop Beach Boyz In Surfside.

I have a Toyota Tacoma 2003…read more My experience at glenns Bay automotive Surfside Beach South Carolina. The original owner had sold the business to a new owner. On August 28th 2026, I had brought my truck to the new owner and the mechanic because my gas tank strap had broken off. I gave them my new gas tank strap and they put it on. Everything went well. On October 30th which was be on a Wednesday I believe, I had brought my rear drums and brakes that I purchased from Napa brand new. After the mechanic had installed the new brakes and new drums it was not a good job. First, the mechanic did not torque the lug nuts on my tires and they started to wobble. Second the mechanic didn't put the hubcap on right and it fell off. He did not adjust the brakes or the emergency brakes. I had to take my truck to Mavis tire and brakes and have them adjust the emergency brake and the brake shoes. The mechanic at glenns Bay automotive on Surfside Beach the new owner avoid that place with all costs I'm letting you know if they work on your truck you're in for a big surprise. The mechanics and the new owner charges outrageous prices that you could get it cheaper somewhere else. Finally after I paid on Wednesday the mechanic said to his boss in front of me why did they why did you tell him that his gas tank strap had broken. He replied to the bus we didn't tell him he noticed it. On November 4th I went to go get my truck to be adjusted for the brakes and he said come back the next day. He told me the mechanic told me the person who said that to him that why did you tell him his gas tank strap was broken meaning how did he know the person that I was up there and had did he know that my gas tank strap had broken. The mechanic gave me his name. I reported it to the Surfside Police department in horry county. I will be writing a letter to the chief of police. To all you out there looking for mechanic this new place a new owner is a shyster is a shyster. Overpriced and not quality workmanship and just to remind you of these mechanics are not certified mechanics. They pull these people off the street to work on your car. You will not have a car or a truck if you go there to glenns Bay automotive in Surfside Beach South Carolina. Look for a new mechanic to take your car because you're not going to have a car trust me that's my experience at glenns Bay mechanic in Surfside Beach South Carolina, Wednesday automotive should be shut down and the new owner should not get a license to reopen with those mechanics they will rip you off they don't do good work take it from me I had the experience that God put rear brakes and the rear brakes wouldn't work Mavis tire and brakes I should have take it to them first that's okay I learned my lesson but they fixed the problem.

We had an overheating auto while on vacation at Surfside Beach and a scheduled departure the following day. I limped into the Car Doc's place with a temperature gauge that was about to fly off the dashboard, a wife and 2 year old in the car. They were the nicest folks imaginable and immediately set to taking a look at my car issues. They not only diagnosed and repaired my faulty thermostat in record time, they did it for parts and 1 & 1/2 hours of labor. And this was on a not-easy-to-work-on Cadillac DTS engine. Just getting to the engine requires a half hour as does reassembling everything. They took me and my family down the road to where we were staying, and came back to pick us up when the repair was done. Honestly I don't think a dealership's "concierge service" could possibly have been any better. We pulled into the Car Doc completely stressed out with a car that was massively overheating and short timeline to get anything done, and walked out a couple of hours later with the peace of mind that the car was fixed. I've dealt with some mechanics that would have done the same thing, but too many that wouldn't have. The cost was absolutely minimal, and we drove home would perfectly functioning cooling system in some serious heat. Thanks to the good folks at the Car Doc for your much-needed help in a tight situation. I cannot thank you enough! I have NO idea what business the first reviewer on Yelp was dealing with, but I am fairly certain that it was NOT this Car Doc.
